Having consulted political campaigns, interviewed scores of pols including Presidents, I think my opinion is informed. Every issue is weighed and researched for its political impact. The right wing spends millions in search of 'cutting issues' which, as the name implies, are designed to divide the opposition. Baggers are classic example.

Whether it's religion, our defense, schools, domestic affairs, economy, etc.....the majority of the working class ( that don't rely on gov't for handouts) support the Republican/Conservative philosophy. Over 45% of the adults in this country do not pay income taxes. If you are talking about them, YES, they LOVE the DEMS and the DEMS keep them on the dole to get their substantial vote. Why do you think Obama wants to legalize 10-15 million ILLEGAL immigrants, that's 10-15 mil votes.
