I see verse 2 of the original has been omitted: When gallant Cook from Albion sailed, To trace wide oceans o'er, True British courage bore him on, Til he landed on our shore. Then here he raised Old England's flag, The standard of the brave; "With all her faults we love her still" "Britannia rules the wave." In joyful strains then let us sing Advance Australia fair.
yeah im kiwi were've had our anthem for years now and all NZ are proud to be singing in both verses.!.!
It should be the same for australians the are the oldest indigenous culture in the world why dont they showcase that or are they trying to hide the past.. instead of moving towards the future.!!
the only criticism i would say is people would find it difficult to say .... But tough they would get it with practise
It was fantastic for the NRL to get it right this year. The anthem showed respect to the Indigenous communities around Australia. My children and husband had tears in their eyes watching this proud moment in Australian sporting history...finally Australia as a nation are on their way to become 1 in unity.
It was a very good idea for the anthem, but I would have guessed that such a presentation would not have gone down well with the crowd (you know, being half-drunk bogans and all). But if this stunned a lot of people (into admiration I mean) then that's a good thing - and proves my hunch as wrong.
the aboriginal version of the anthem was so amazing i was really moved by her performance. The most beautiful anthem i have ever heard sung. her voice sounded so beautiful and personally i think it should be how our anthem is sung. i hope one day it is included with the english version and taught to our children to sing both.
man about time i've been asking myself nd heaps of aussies why they never did this since i've been in australia i think this is a huge achievement hope they do it for ever think it's up there with sorry day
I was at the game and I tell ya mate, as soon as that didgeridoo started playing my eyes welled up and a shiver went down my spine. I AM A PROUD AUSTRALIAN!.
It's about time something like this was done. New Zealand have been doing it for years, I think this is the way the National Anthem should be performed at all major events!
Good idea.
However they butchered it, the crowd was never behind it.
Atmosphere went out the door. Sorry to be brutal.

This should be done. This would help honour our Aboriginal heritage. As has been said, New Zealand has been doing it for year.
If our neighbours from across the Tasman can do it, why can't we!

start teaching this version in the skewls

Politically correct bullshit. The english version should've been first
Rafdaganga 10 months ago
@Rafdaganga New Zealand do not have their English sung first.
