You play very well! I am considering getting one. I'm a multi-instrumentalist as well (Irish flute/whistle/NA flute, bodhran, dejembe, bones, spoons, fiddle, percussion) This sounds VERY similar to "Hobarts Transformation" any ideas?
did you do a whole lot of mixing or production or anything on this recording? i have an AKG perception 400 that was around 200 bucks, and your microphone sounds 10 times better.
The acoustics in my living room are pretty dead so I sweetened the recording a little with some mild chorus and slight reverb from within Garageband but that's about it. I would like to get one of those inexpensive ART MP tube preamps to warm and fatten the mic signal during recording but that's still on my wish list.
hmm. well I'm not using the best production software right now, but i'll play around with the sound and see what i can change. what sort of interface/multi-track recorder, etc do you record through?
I use an M-Audio MobilePre for the A/D and record using Garageband on an iMac. The MobilePre has two channels but I only have one mic for now so I sometimes add a little stereo chorus in the final editing.
I like the name and sound of your Sweetee. It was the first Cold Frosty Morning in Belgium today, so this was the appropriate time for me to listen to it!
Thanks Jack! I'm still not completely happy with the video quality but I guess I can't expect too much from the limitations of using a still camera in video mode. I could probably use some better lighting too. Seems like whenever I have time to record, it's always dark out. Oh well, there's always room for improvement!
I was getting tired looking for a definitive version of this..... yours is the one. Great - many thanks Chris

Thank you for this, for the life of me, I can't play fast, & it's nice to know that others enjoy the songs done slower, with feeling.
I wish at jams that they would play some slow, so I can enjoy them too.

Thanks for the kind words. You should post some vids of your music as well. I'm not familiar with "Hobarts" but do find the bodhran fascinating.
