TUTORIAL - Adobe After Effect - Making Real 3D Objects

Have a question after watching your video. I followed along and am still not understanding the Shatter Effect. Specifically getting my logo to rotate on just the Y axis. I'm noticing that when you show your logo spinning, you aren't using the time ruler to preview the spinning logo (when I do, the logo shatters), just the Y axis slider. I'm a little confused because there's no explanation on how to get the effect of the Y axis spinning logo. Was that intentional, was there a step left out? Help?

Great tutorial!, now I have a question, Is there a way to make the borders rounded? For example if I'm trying to do a donut, to make disappear the square borders and turn'em into rounded ones..

to prevent it from exploding from the shatter effect I found that if you change the strength on force 1 and 2 to zero that it won't shatter and it will stay in 3d

Hey, what if I wanna make a car on 3d max, and put it in real video, not picture but video with all the camera movements and etc. Or would it be easier to me act in greenscreen background and create the enviorment with CGI programs?
