actually, to all of you who are dogging on the radio, I feel that I would have to disagree with you. you say that only trash is played on the radio, right? or that the only way for us to listen to good music is to explore elsewhere? well, what about all those stations that play good music? or play rarities? or even the stations playing the same songs over and over again - some of those aren't too bad. none of us have a monopoly on the truth, on what is right, or on the color yellow.
I can imagine myself flying to this song - just briskly touching the clouds, and feeling the soft air strike against me. Feels so good. Love Animal Collective.
Also one of the college stations (89.7 WITR, google and listen now) plays like 3 Animal Collective songs a day almost without fail. Just goes to show that you are specifically thinking about Kiss FM, not radio as a whole.

Okay, so... I found this song a couple of weeks ago. I liked it, so I bought the album. TWO DAYS after getting the album, I watched Deadgirl and nearly had an excitement seizure.
i am not usually one to say "this is great when you are high" but when i watched this video high it blew my mind. this song is amazing high or not. and the video was very well done.
This song is definitely one of my all time favorites, top 25 even, but after listening to their discography a couple times I can earnestly tell you they have a lot of misses. See Grizzly Bear. I enjoyed Animal Collection's music until I took a close look at their lyrics and discovered a consistent pattern of underlying racism. Take a close look at the lyrics on their latest album and tell me if you notice anything suspicious.
Their music videos also just EXUDE racist and homophobic symbolism. Chock full of it. It's staring the fans right in the face and they ignore it. Most of these people identify themselves as pro gay and black rights, which just shows the hypocrisy of it all.
all the people who complain about everyone commenting about how awesome videos are high, have obviously never smoked pot or enjoyed anything in their life to the fullest potential.
I love this video most for all of the old footage it has in it and how well it goes along with the parts of the song it's played with. And Robert Christgau is one of the most famous, well-respected music critics in the country.
They use a lot of noise, yes. But as with Pink Floyd, you've got to give them a decent listen before you "get it."

I love this video most for all of the old footage it has in it and how well it goes along with the parts of the song it's played with. It really makes me wonder why people can't just sit here and either enjoy the music or click the pause button and find something else if they don't like it rather than waste their time leaving immature comments or replying to immature comments just because they don't like what was said.

Being that AC is one of the greatest bands ever it is quite hard to chose what song of theres is the best but i would have to say this song is 2nd and their best is the song this ones goes into perfectly "Fireworks".

@DravenX53 I assume you "get it"? They released an EP entitled Fall Be Down. What on earth does that mean? Their music has very little sense of melody and is mostly assortments of noise. I am not saying there are not people who out there who like this, I just think it is quite bad. Also who is Robert Christgau??

@Egbertwallbee Actually it was called "Fall Be Kind," and according to the band, the EP was meant to evoke a more warm, autumn-like sound (as opposed to the summer-like sounds on their last album). According to Wikipedia, "Fall Be Kind has received universal acclaim from music critics."
And Robert Christgau is one of the most famous, well-respected music critics in the country.
They use a lot of noise, yes. But as with Pink Floyd, you've got to give them a decent listen before you "get it."
