I'm sorry but I think it's unrespectful to say that Rachel has flexible hips: she worked very hard for it, it's not that you're born with it or something. And I agree, every dancer has a different body and puts her own interpretation and character into the dance and you just can't compare them. But you can't say Mardi is more talented than anyone else in the indigo. Because all three of them are very hard workers and very talented and are deffinatily one of a kind.

well yes im not saying i hate Mardi. I think evry single dancer in the Indigo is beautiful and talented and they all bring each other inspiration in different ways. Perfect balance of styles going on. I just happen to favor Rachel Brice and Zoe Jakes. They are my favorites probably because i can relate more to their style.

No offense but even though Mardi is good in some areas ( of dance) i dont think shes nearly as good as Zoe or Rachel. But if shes Rachel's inspiration then so be it :)

Mardi is my favorite of the three. I think she's the best in my opinion. but i've seen them live...it's hard to judge a performance by watching youtube vids. i'm also a dancer and understand it differently.

Mardi is just as good, but her torso is shorter and thicker than Rachel or Zoe's, so it makes the movements a little smaller. Also, Rachel seems to have really flexible hips, which makes a difference in the drops, lifts and shimmies. I've seen video where Mardi was the focus of the choreography, and she's really talented, but she's not built like the other two, so it doesn't have the same effect.

I actually heard an interview with RB and she said that without Mardi she'd be lost!! She says that she takes all of her inspiration from Mardi! :)

I just get frustrated because I want to see more of Mardi, but I can hardly find videos or pictures of her! GRR!

When somebody choreographs, they know the moves so why would she copy rachel?

Maybe you should take a workshop with Mardi to really understand that the Indigo (and the tribal dance world) is not all about Rachel Brice, as much as I love, respect and admire her. Mardi has one of the strongest technique, creativity and dance skills out of the dancer i've seen or learnt from. It's you right to think you whatever you want, but please use a respectful and constructive language or keep it to yourself.

Mardi is an incredible dancer with her own unique style. She has a softer more subdued style where the immense impact of her technique is experienced in the subtlety of her composition. It is one of those paradoxical experiences that viewer takes from watcher her, where although she is soft, there is great depth to her movement and her expression.

What she means by real music. Is actual music of the gypsies of Eygpts music. Thus what a native of Eygpt might refear to as Tribal.

Personally it throws me off a little. Because I hear the music & am expecting the movements that a gypsy would use for this music. Ghawazee thats the term for a Eygptian gypsy.
