My sister and I got roller blades for Easter one year, and my father went nuts with the pads. Apparently, he'd fallen roller skating when he was a kid and broke both his wrists, so he was a little paranoid. I hated it. I thought I looked stupid.
lacey's right, i never really did master braking on my roller blades. if i was skating in front of my house, i would just roll onto the lawn to stop. lame but, it worked...
i live in elmhurst, IL. 99.9% of kids (including me) skate all the time in the summer. when i skate, it reminda me of the 90s.
