The media has ignored a lot of what ACTUALLY happened.
The protesters already knew what Abbott had said that morning (and the context in which he'd said it), 2UE had already reported what they interpreted Abbott's comments to be, as did the Courier-Mail and SkyNews.
The Tent Embassy is a matter of metres away from the Lobby Restaurant - they already knew that Abbott was there, as stated by Barbara Shaw.
Hodges should not have done what he did - but it would have happened anyway.
That wasnt a protest that was a bloody disgrace....dont care if the issue was the tent embassy or issues that I actually care about eg foriegn policy it wouldnt matter that was a mob and the police and security at that point should do what is required to ensure the safety of our political leaders.....doesnt matter that I dont like either of them.....
At 3.03 mins, I like how the news station dramatizes the event. "Have you ever seen anything like these scenes before?" *PAUSE* (serious face) "No I haven't Andrew, look I've seen many protests, many of them have been violent"
I'm Australian and I'm in Israel now, if you want to see a violent protest there are many examples, here's one;

@Schnappi1936 - yep, he was running scared alright. There's another picture of him with his fist pushing into Gillard's back as she's going down some stairs. It really looks as though he's trying to get past her (or push her over).
Lol this was actually quite funny to see on tv. But i do think the police acted appropriately against the mob. Yes, the mob. The moment they started banging on glass and surrounding the building it stopped being a protest and more like a mob. And shame on them for ruining a service to honor emergency workers! I volunteer with the ses and i would have been so angry if i were there.
Tent embassy?......tent slum more like. These slums are dotted all around Australia and should be gotten rid of like the scum who operate them and dare attack our Prime Minister. The police should have brought out the truncheons for this pack of dogs. Traditional owners, previous owners, what ever you want to call them they need to know their place; that is in the stone ages and in the desert!
@phonytonyabbott Thanks for giving us the REAL news about PHONY Tony Abbott! Not the criminal Murdoch press spin for phony man. Keep up the good work mate!!
You are entitled to your opinion,as are those who believe abbotts lies need showing to the public who miss some of abbotts unworthy to be a PM moments, besides the video where he says a Carbon Tax is the sensible thing to do,but now he lies about it.
I for one am pleased with a site that exposes abbotts lies and shortcomings that he is not fit to lead this country, but the murdoch press gives the liar a free ride.
'I'm foiine, I'm foine..' sounds like a bogan more than an Prime Minister.

@Verity12ful - you might have to check his pants to find out for sure.

@Verity12ful - she was being dragged by her security and being pushed along by Abbott.
What did you expect?
Abbott himself looked like he was crapping his pants.

@Tribunilus - everyone has a right to protest, and I think the police to some degree actually worsened the situation.
Having said that, I absolutely agree with you in regards to the service for honouring the SES/Emergency workers.
It is a shame that their award ceremony was interrupted.

@Steve3b7 - What exactly do you mean by aboriginals needing to "know their place"?
Are you saying that they should be forced to live as they did "in the stone age" and forced to live in the desert?
You sound like a bit of a racist.

@MikkkkyB - this site was setup to show people the lies and idiocy of Abbott.
IF that means uploading my own comments, or videos from television, then it shouldn't matter.
You came and watched and then bitched about it - perhaps you need to get a life instead?

This looks like another set-up. Lack of security and a deliberately inflammatory comment.
Never forget the False Flag Hilton Bombing.
