  • SO I COULD MAKE PEANUT :D

  • i like your sketches :D

  • Can I use a foam football for this?

  • @captain0ldy0da Yep! That's what I used for another of my puppets (the nerdy looking one named Elwood).

  • My Gosh..... AWESOME!!! U Inspired meh, thx dude!!!

  • Your sketches were really lovely and this is an awesome tutorial thank you :)

  • I like that puppet!!!:) do you think you could make me one and send it to me???

  • @Hockeymaniac900 Not for free.

  • @MoonBYU how much would it be for you 2 make 1 nd send it ?

  • @p0k3rd0tz $100 plus shipping.

  • This is awesome! Where did you buy the foam ball for the head?

  • @mhsmith33 I found it in the attic. I'd recommend checking out toy stores or maybe even dollar stores, it seems like pretty cheap quality. A nerf ball can be used if you can't find anything else, but they are denser and heavier.

  • just use a cam corder and upload to youtube

  • @monsterhigh1388 I did use a camcorder, but then when I tried to edit the video, the editing software sucked and made it freeze.

  • send one to me for free

  • You did good.

  • can someone give me a list of materials plz

  • Go to ventriloquist central dot com and look me up I am president of the Florida ventriloquist association as well. feel free to look me up on face book and get my email as well.

  • Very interesting because that is NOT how it's done by the professional soft figure builders, I should know, but that's okay it's your own style and in the end you have a usable figure. If you want to try the "professional" way try using half inch foam and contact cement to construct your puppet's head. Try to find “Making Sculpted Puppets with Verna Finley” from Star Media Ministries

  • @MeanJohnDean No, it definitely is not how they do it. But for someone who has never done it before, this is probably an easier way.

The professional way makes puppets that weigh less, have more malleable heads/faces (and therefore a much greater range of facial expression) and look better if seen from all sides.

However, this was never intended to be a screen/stage used muppet; this is a ventriloquism dummy made out of foam. A rigid face isn't as big of a deal.

    What puppets have you made?

  • @MoonBYU thanx for the idea i made a puppet like that thanx to ur advice

  • where do you get those foam balls??? and how many inches are they? i saw some online but im not sure if they are the right type.....

  • @MMBastheking I got them in my parents' attic, but they are just cheap toys. I imagine any Target, Wal-Mart or Toys R Us would have something that works. And it doesn't have to be that soft of a ball, I've used much denser foam. It works fine, it's just heavier in the end.

  • Please email me a guide in Microsoft how to make those puppets

  • @JMB4MUSIC "Microsoft" is not a program. Microsoft Word? Windows Movie Maker?

This IS a guide to how to make these puppets. Just watch the video, it shows pretty much all I know about puppet making, and I just made it up as I went.

  • @MoonBYU how did you learn all this?

  • @eddfredandkyle I needed a puppet for ventriloquism, so I figured out how to make one. After I made this one, I actually took a puppetry class, but that taught me more about marionettes than big-mouth puppets.

  • @MoonBYU where did you find a ventrillouquisem class?

  • @eddfredandkyle It wasn't a ventriloquism class, just a puppetry class. It was a theater class at my school (BYU) that taught about marionettes, big mouth puppets, and parade puppets. It didn't teach me anything about ventriloquism, I picked that all up on my own.

  • @MoonBYU oh of
