  • ewwww!!

  • @jayangli Sorry you don't like it! Maybe someone else has something posted that you will enjoy better!

  • My hair is really soft and thick and I did it without adding hairspray or anything of the other things that you suggested...

    But I love this video.

    It helped me SOOOOO much.

    Thank you!! :D

  • @SuPeRaIdZ55 Oh you're so welcome! I hope it worked out well!!

  • @WaiiC101 Thank you!! And you've quick become one of my favorite Facebook-ers. Love your status updates. :)

  • I like this alot. Very pretty :)

  • Lovely! I just did a fishtail braid the other day but it fell out. I'm going to try your hairspray trick. I'll let you know when I post a pic on Tumblr!

  • @tmiller344 Ok awesome!! I hope it works for you!! :)

  • It's so adorable :) but i'm positive i'd get fed up with fishtailing in less than one braid haha. Next time i have someone do my hair i'll have them do this :P The music was pleasant, it reminded me of a game called Mall Tycoon hehe XD

  • @pinkblackwitch I've never heard of the game, but I'll look it up!! And if two braids are too much, one will be just as pretty!! XO

  • OMG, fishtails. Can I tell you how much I dread fishtails? Super pretty, but boy, they tucker my arms out! They slip out too! I mean, I can get a dutch, french, and twists all not to slip whilst working on them, but those fishtails just love slipping!

I'm figuring out zigzag and waterfall braids at the moment. Zigzags are really hard! Waterfall braids are plain frustrating as I keep forgetting to drop the one thingy (forgetting my terms at the moment.) Ah, the joys of braiding, eh?

  • @StellaLilly I know what you mean! Fishtails are hard, especially if you have layers!! I've been thinking about doing a waterfall braid myself! Maybe in the next few weeks??

  • @LaDollyVita33 Ha ha, good luck. It's not as hard as I keep making it to myself. It just that I'm so used to traditional braiding, I keep forgetting to drop the one side and grab new hair. I keep watching lillithedarkmoon's tutorial on waterfall braiding on repeat basically to remind myself whilst doing it. Such a PITA braid for someone who braids out of boredom like me!

  • It looks so pretty, but I can't help but hate fishtail braids. Firstly, they take FOREVER to do (even when I do them on my sister, who has half the amount of hair of mine--she knows to ask only for special occasions...), and whenever I try them on my hip length hair I always end up with a tangly mess halfway through. That's usually when I give up, screaming with frustration. All those tiny little sections drive me nuts. For my own sanity's sake, I think I'll have to stay clear of this style. :)

  • @the2ndladyofshalott I completely understand! This took me, including pinning it up, at least a half hour. And my hair is shorter too. Sorry to hear this hair idea wasn't something that would work for ya, but hopefully I'll come up with something in my next vid you'll dig!

  • @LaDollyVita33 It's not that I don't dig it, the style looks awesome and will make my sister very happy one day when I feel particularly benevolent (lol). It's just that I think it won't work with my hair, let's just say it loves to tangle on itself...

  • I like how the undo at the end turned out! Really pretty!

  • @missartist123 Thanks Michelle!! I was just winging' it! LOL

  • I'm yet to find one of your tutorials that I just "like" you are so talented and I hope I can be as good as you one day :) xx

  • @JoyBunny24 Aww! Thank you for such a kind compliment! I'm flattered! And I'm sure you'll be great! Repetition can be boring but it really helps! And thats all it is! I just practice a lot and so can you!! :) xo Good luck!

  • I like your tumblr inspired vids!! I've been trying all of them and I've gotten complimented for them every time. How long did it take to do the braids? Cause whenever I do fishtail braids (or braid, since I've mostly been making a side-fishtail-braid) it takes forever..

  • @Nannzee It probably took be 25 minutes to do all of it, and then five to pin them up. I love these braids, but I totally know what you mean about them taking so long! I've taken to reserving them for super special occasions!

  • I love how this looks down on you & then the ending style, too. I really, really like this look. I so wish I could fishtail or French braid on myself. I can do it on my daughters just can't do on self. You always do such a nice job. Keep it up girlie!

  • @LoriHulstine Thank you Lori!!! And Happy Birthday!!

These are hard - but maybe with a little practice you'll get a better handle on it? If not I hope the next video will be something you'll prefer!!

  • No!!!! I'm not sick of tumbler video's! I've been wearing the Braid wheel bun for the last week, and I've gotten so many compliments on it. I'm not able to do a nice fishtail yet, but practice will make perfect (I hope)

  • @ClierieClarie144 Practice WILL make perfect! Don't worry girl! This braid took me some time to learn! I remember back in high school when I learned it, I didn't have enough hair, so by the time I did I was SO rusty and it took me a while to get a good handle on it! I'm stoked to hear you like the braid wheel!!! I'm wearing it right now! LOL

  • Nice, it looks lovely! I've been planning to do a herringbone braid video too but different to this :D

  • @lushbylaura Awesome! I'm looking forward to yours! You always have such a good perspective!

  • So it's kind of like french fishtail braids for the base? I like it. How long did it take you to do up until before you pinned it up?

Would putting a little oil in your hair help with the slipperiness factor? Just trying to think of other ways because I don't have a curling iron or hairspray but like you I find things tricky due to slippage, and with my daughters hair too and she is only just starting to let me do anything with her hair, but I want to keep going while she likes it.

  • @kittenclaire I'm sure the oil will help, but what might even be better is some sort of waxy molding stuff. A little of that can go a long way too! I suppose though that you should definitely stick to what works best when it comes to gripping your hair! I know how you feel about working with your little one's hair! My daughter is only beginning to let me ponytail it! And every time I pick her up from school, she's ripped out the elastic and its loose again! LOL
