at 1:25 you are dragging sound clips to the small boxes.. when i do this on mine there is a cancel (circle with the line through it) sign... or it just changes it from impulse to that single sound... does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? thank you.

@rip0ff421 Im guessing you don't have the correct file format or you don't have an impulse instrument selected.

@MarleysDiciple you have to drag them into the impulse instrument so you can play around with them/set up the timings.

theres probably a ton of comments on this already but,,,, you dont have to delete each midi clip to change the velocity just go down and select the velocity tail and drag where you want... you can also select multiple midi clips and adjust the velocities together

@Pawshter I have downloaded Vengeance electro essential vol.1 and 2 but they are all in wave form and I don't know how to put .wav in Ableton and when I tried to drag and drop it in the library , It was not there . How did you put it in the library ?

@speedview725 there should be 3 folder options on the left, and one of them you should just be able to browse anywhere on your computer. I have a "samples" folder on my desktop where I keep all my samples, and just have the folder pointed to there.

hey i just downloaded ableton live 8. in Live devices, i found impulse fine, but then when i try to drag a kick onto it from the Drum Rack, it won't let me?

@MustBeFiend you don't drag the kick from impulse, you drag the kick from a audio file you have

@MustBeFiend You can't from Drum Rack, as it an instrument and not a sound file. If you get the actual waveforms you can drag them into impulse, but Drum Rack is a "software" and not a fileform.

Fuck Ableton. I can't even figure out how to make a simple beat even after watching this. What's the point of making it impossible to figure out? FL Studio is so much more user friendly.

@housemonzter Ableton is harder to learn, but once you know your way around it, IMO it is much easier to work with.

@totalyruben I'm using the Valence electro sound pack, you can find it from various sources, ableton also comes with some drum beats, theyre not hard to find just google it!
