  • It may not be the quickest car around, but there is no doubt that the GT3RS is the last truly great RAW sports car in the world. Ferrari doesn't even offer manuals anymore. Not to mention the power Porsche gets out of a non-turbo 6 cylinder is unreal. And that engine noise at full bore is as good as it gets. I've driven a lot of sports cars and there is no contest with actual driving feel. Porsche is the best there is. A true drivers car.

  • This car is perfect, is good at straight lines and also on track, but American cars serve only to "walk" straight, now the Porsche 911 Turbo S is faster from 0-100km / h 3.3second and he has a 3.8 engine, dont need a zr1 v12 engine :D

  • Yanks seem to think its all about straight line speed and big BHP... its notm i sell sports and performance cars for a living and can asure you Yanks that for starters european horses are def bigger and we know how to build a car that handles beautifully, i.e Porsche. i'm not saying Yank cars are crap, but they have a lot left to be up there with the 911's turbo S, Ferrari, Lambo's of this world

  • ZR1? GTR? No, no, no. We're talking about race cars dressed as street cars, with pinpoint steering accuracy GTRs and ZR1s can only dream of. The feel you get from a GT3 going over a curbe cannot be described.

    In my opinion, Porsches are for connaisseurs who like to take corners, not just showboat around with numbers. This car is about feeling!

  • The Ford GT is cheaper than most Ferrari entry level so how does that compare? It's hard to compare cars by one metric and using price is very ill conceived way to go about it. Supercars are nothing more than factory-tuned cars so anyone can take a Corvette or Mustang and tune it to beat it.

    Personally, my heart lies with cars like Porsche/Ferraris because exoticism is more than just straight out performance prowess, it's everything in between.

  • oops, I rated thumbs up but I forgot about the Ford GT. still a great post, I think a corvette is a great super sports car but it's just not a super car

    to me it has the same super sports car category as a ferrari 430, but it's still not quite refined enough to be the top. yes it's amazingly powerful and fast, but it takes much more than just that to be the top :)

  • @123SupArman123 I am an American, but every country has its delusions. : ). In my opinion the Zr1 can never be a "supercar" because it is a Chevy. Same goes for Nissan and the GTR. JMO

    But if you want a real daily supercar, nothing can reach the level set by GT-R.

  • the small air intake on the front end of this Porsches hood ruins it's looks. It looks a bit like a cutsie anime coy fish. It's almost like they mashed a Lotus Elise with a ford contour. The carrera GT is perfect what happened to the 911?

  • there is a dispute over the gtr's time on the ring. some other manufacturers are saying it was on slick tires, as well as lighter than the production model.

  • 3:11 There's a six point harness AND a three point seat belt in the RS. They should leave only the harness to save 0.1 kg

  • the cars are aimed at slightly different ppl as the rsr is deffinately not a road car its a race car but the gt3 rs is a road car that is still very happy on the track

Also was on run flats. Fact is you should look at it the other way BMW Ms best handling car couldnt put a second on a viper wearing run flats in a shoe box course, Viper handles as good as M divisions best, handicaped as hell to boot.

The zr-1 still uses leaf-spring technology in there suspension something that most sports cars companies threw out a long time ago. And sure the zr1 has more hp then the gt3rs but thats because chevy had to put a big supercharger in it while the gt3rs with 415 hp is all engine. And you might say that chevy is still better because of the engine

  • yeah actually ive driven my friends zr1 multiple times and I don't think it compares to Porsche just because nothing drives like a Porsche. The zr1 beat the gt3rs by 14 seconds on the nurburgring which isn't bad considering the legnth of the track and the amount of straight aways where all the zr1 horses come out and the zr1 beat the gt-r by 3 seconds. Huge considering the lap times were 7:26 and 7:29. The nurburgring is just a road course with big straight sways which is another excuse for you

  • viper= basically a poorly made brick with lackluster handling, and a big ole American motor stuffed under the hood.  That's it. Throw in Price Point.. and a simple Vette is a much better deal/performer. Again, Viper is a brick that looks nice.

    But the GT3 is a nicer car to drive, look at, listen to and own...build quality is better, engine is better, handling is more precise and its prestige... and on a tight track the difference would be minimal.

  • I would nt count out the zr1 on a tight track against a gt3 the zr1 would kill the hardcore track foicuussed road legal race car superb handling gt3 on any track or any windy roads the gt3 is one of the best handling cars in the world but the zr1 simply out handles it if you can belive it or not nothing will out run a zr1 the zr1 s handleing abillitys are just as race like as any gt3 or gt2 s handleing a billitys.

  • actually a gt3 out handles the zr1 easily being lighter and more nible than the big engined american on leaf springs granted the zr1 does handle well but seeing reviews of both and i mean allot of reviews the gt3 especially the rs is a far better handling car

  • C6 Corvettes use coil-overs on all four wheels.

  • If you read road & track magazines or motortrend magazines you will see that on the figure 8 200ft skid pad the zr1 push s more G of down force than any gt3 or gt2 and if you look at the nurburgring times on wikipedia you will find that the zr1 laps a 7.26 while the gt2 laps a7.32 and a gt3 laps a7.42.

  • it still uses leaf springs if you do your re-search and on a skid pad im sure the heavy car with the weight over the turning wheels hense better grip for turning when there is little or no grip available will do better but i have seen recently due to a slightly damp road a z06 stack it on the straight and same day saw a gt3 in pouring rain easily cope with tight corners and on a track properly not like the nurburg ring where there are absolutely loads of straights for the straightline

  • Yeah the nurburgring doess have alot of long striaghts but you have to remember that apart from the striaghts the nurburgring is very windy and tight and the nurburgring can get a bit bumpy in certain area s plus their are many blind corners at the ring and as far as i m concerened the zr1 is not just about striaght line speed its designed to go round the track and get you good lap times and the zr1 can change direction just as fast as any porsche plus the zr1 ride qaulity is as smooth as theirs

  • the ZR1 is the first car in a long time the americans have made which is ok.... but it only beats the GTR around the nurburgring by 0.3 of a second?? which weighs 1736kg with 480hp, the ZR1 weighs only 1520kg with 638hp.. do the math! if the GTR sheds a few KG's there will be no contest with the V-SPEC.

  • they are quite different cars.. and either would be the better car on different tracks.. the extra BHP of the ZR1 is gonna give it the edge on some tracks... and the 4WD of the GTRs will give different advantages.. both good cars. in NZ the ZR1 would get rolled on any B road, so id have the GTR.. good point tho.

  • 911 turbo is amazing, but how many do you see a week? You see a few here and therem go to hollywood you see plenty. The GT3 is limited production and is a raw sports car. It is how dare I say the CSL M3 for the regular 911.
