I am also an American who is definitely pro Canada. I do hope though that you don't automatically think that all Americans support the beliefs of our former president Bush. I am, in fact, very liberal, as are many of my friends, and I hope to one day move to Quebec.
I really hope to move to BC when I turn 20. Im just sick of america now, too much policing(sp?) and WAY too harsh drug laws. Im in idaho right now so BC isnt too far from what im used to.
Just about everything....... but that's nothing new.
What's wrong with Canada you might ask? Getting America's same retarded problems with this bastard American wannabe harper turning our country into a policing state.
Hmmmm... I'm not Muslim (nor Middle Eastern) and I get a lot of lovin' from my husband, friends and fans, so I think you're commenting on the wrong video. ;)
The Liberals are out there preparing their nomination assemblies, the Quebecer Bloc also does it, but did we hear any thing to this effect from the NDP? If they do, the day we defeat the Conservatives draws closer every day.
Absolutely agree with her. I voted NPD in Quebec, its just sad most people are scared to vote things they don't know so they keep choosing the same idiots years after years...
I suppose the "Conservateurs" ad could still be run - in English next time (along with its French version.) Quebecers have an extra choice if they wish to vote against Harper: the Quebecer Bloc.
Too bad the QB has decided not to accept candidate applications from outside Quebec; I'm certain there are some people in whom the ideas of the QB would echo.
In my opinion, most Quebecers are stupid. They don't know anything about politic and even less about the (Quebecer Bloc) but just because that party got the word (Quebecer) well most of people here waste their vote for them instead of looking at the NPD. It's like the ads int he street you see, what a waste of trees. Parties should write what they plan to do on them so people know why to vote for them. Now people just vote for a "cute face" without knowning anything.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
that ad she is talking about is a blatant personal and political attack against our Prime Minister. The NDP should be ashamed of accusing Mr. Harper of attacks when they are doing the same thing, if not worse. Shame on the NDP, God help us if they ever get elected to government, but i can safely say that will never happen. Jack Layton is not a leader and the NDP represent socialist ideals of the past which have no place in our free market and modern economy. Harper is making canada stronger.
I'm a francophone from Quebec City, and yes, I agree on the fact that here we had really effective publicities by the NDP. I just discovered than the ads in English are totally different, and, in my opinion, a bit boring... I'm suprised that they didn't use the same publicities in English...
The only problem would then be scripts. The next time around, if the NDP was somewhat money-pressed, they could use some of the old French-language ads (especially Conservateurs, which would be every bit as true now than it was when the ad was first aired) and translate their scripts so they can make them as good as their original versions.
...even Viagra? But that's the super-happy-penis-funtime drug! And I thought it was legal!
Oh wait, you meant "illegal drugs are evil and illegal". That's all that separates drugs like alcohol, tobacco, and coffee from cocaine, heroin, and marijuana.
When alcohol was illegal in America, there was all sorts of violence in the alcohol trade. If we re-legalized illegal drugs, we would eliminate huge amounts of "drug-related" gang violence.
Which makes those who support prohibition murderers.
im american and i'll tell you know one should feel bad for being called anti-american for speaking out against our empire for empire can only be stoped when we work from both sides theres just not enough here that want our country back we need presure from other nations may all peoples find peace and freedom
The NDP needs to have the courage to say these things in English. The liberals are losing because they are apologetic and on the defensive. I'm glad the NDP is stepping up to the plate to defend the old Canada, not Harper's twisted parody.
Thanks God we haven't run this ad. Calling someone "Pro War" violates even the vestigal code of conduct left in political advertising and would expose us to accusations of cheap trickery, offend the undecided, and lower the quality of the debate, we'd be talking about our "gaffe" and having candidates around the country condemning the national campaign.
Let's hope the firm which produced this gets hired by the Tories, and they run an ad describing the NDP position on abortion as "Anti-life".
As an American, I'm so mixed on that ad. It's effectively done, but it also relies on the US a bogeyman far more than any other commercial I see from Canada's parties.
I like Canada more than my own country and look to study there soon, but I don't think America is totally evil either and am uncomfortable seeing it displayed as such. I don't mind the NDP platform (wish US had an organized far-left,) but this kind of imagery makes me feel like I'd be unwanted there simply for where I come from.
i think i should vote for the bloc i hate the fucking bloc but they have more chances of winning where i live.. if they win thats 1 conservative mp less a Harper majority would be terrible for me and all of Canada
This lady knows what she's talking about, on Oct 14th vote NDP to stop a Harper majority, vote NDP to end the economic entanglement we have to the USA. The US is going down the toilet why should we progressive Canadians go down with them.
i feel that America needs to be more like Canada and it is so wrong that we push all our bs on everyone when that same shit is killing us atm i am sorry :-(
As an Australian I feel the same about our countries interaction with the USA, thankfully we had a big change of government recently that have backed away from the disaster the USA are creating in their own country. Best wishes, Sammi.
IMO: Neither candidate or party is worthy of my vote. The red/blue dog/pony show is not for me, nor will it ever be. Every individual's vote counts. IMO If someone believes voting for another person outside the circus is a wasted vote, they've already wasted their mind.
Proprietary voting machines aside, my vote and others like mine for a real choice add up, and in time things will change. But for now, the majority consumes whatever the corporations spotlight as choice/change.
It's kind of funny reading the comments hear all of you know that The Conservatives are going to win a majority... but you just can't accept it ... lets wait for 14 October before we start making plans O.K !!??!!

Ask yourself Polishedrazor, who would you like to see in the US White House, open minded Obama or conservative war-focused McCain? Who would YOU really like to see?
