  • Actually coconut oil doesn't clog your arteries. Yes it is saturated fat, but your body doesn't react to it in the same way as other saturated fats. I know it sound silly.

  • you really shouldnt ingest too much coconut oil becuase it is a huge saturated fat, and will clog arteries.

  • Hope you didn't lose all this... in the fire!

Good video. If others are as good, I will sub. ;)

  • Interesting vid, thanks for posting.

  • Thanks brotha, never thought to use coconut oil for anything.

  • @Shamarm - Your welcome :0)

  • Bull, coconut oil is one of the healthiest foods ever! Used it for years, Even long ago they did studies which showed students including coconut oil in their diet consistently fared better in all aspects of their schoolwork. It is very good for the heart/vascular system....plethora of info out there on its benefits. Enjoy it and thank you hokulea96 for showing even more fantastic features of the mighty coconut !

  • @MegaWillyxxx - Your welcome :0)

  • So coconut oil seems to be some kind of magic elixir that does everything. Neat, I'll have to pick some up and start putting it on everything.

  • @RevolverPhantom - LOL...not quite but it does have alot of properties that makes it a multi functional element to have on hand. Food source, personal hygiene, fire starting, lubrication, soap making, vehicle fuel and I am sure there are at least a dozen other things people can find uses for.

  • @RevolverPhantom it even washes the dishes and laundry

  • I have three- 1.6 liters jars of coconut oils and it known to be antiviral against cold, too.

  • @ACatal1 - Correct...the lauric acid in coconut oil does alot for the body in regards killing germs and boosting your immune system.

  • @ACatal1 - that works for me :0)

  • NEVER EAT IT! too much causes diariah(i know) and dehydration

  • Smart man. I use the cheap walmart stuff as lotion, and its the ONLY thing i use in my hair. I use the Nutiva extra virgin stuff for lip balm. And of course in the bush its all those things, plus cooking grease, wound salve, sunblock, flame extender. etc.

    ;Ghost

  • how does it take a spark?

  • @soikj - You would use it in the same manner as lamp oil.

  • Interesting video and fun tip. Hope your weather has inproved.

  • @903lew - Thank you for the comment :0) Right now we are having some pretty decent weather...dont know how long that is going to last :0).

  • does it taste like coconut oil?

  • @vampire847 - LOL...is that a trick question? Well....it is coconut oil :0) However some brands are not as distinctive as others in regards the taste and aroma. Some have very little after taste. I can eat it raw if that helps. Most of the time I put it in my chili, coffee, hot chocolate, cook my eggs or rib eyes or fry my fish in it. I say try it and see for yourself. :0) Happy Holidays

  • @hokulea96 lmao... sorry I meant does it taste like coconut not coconut oil! sad I notice that when I am half crocked and not sober! well merry xmas and I may try it someday!

  • @hokulea96 My dad gets this stuff...I THINK it's called Tropical Traditions? It's a big gallon or 2 tub of it that has been refined / boiled or something where it takes the smell & taste out. It literally smells & tastes like nothing. I like cooking with it cus it doesn't burn like butter does! And there's a fck ton of uses for it, it's insane.

  • @vampire847 - To me it has a slight coconut taste to it...the fact it is oil may turn some people off if eaten raw...that is why I mixed it in my coffee or chili or whatever I find suitable to put it in. Again it is one of my favorite survival items...there is so much you can do with it. Plus it is hands down the healthiest oil you can cook with.

  • @hokulea96 NOW they just need to make it taste like bacon

  • The man really love coconut oil hahahahah great video man

  • @buglifethugs - What can I say...lol...ya I do love coconut oil.

  • Great Video hokulea96. I like to use natural substances in my kit as far as possible and this is just such a versatile oil to use. Thank you for this very useful information, it is definitely worth using in the future.

  • Gret info dude. Definately gettimg some when I can for my bob

  • bear grylls knife rule!

  • solidifies at 76F, not sure I would use it on my weapons outside of Texas. lol

  • @l3nnz3 - Well you know something...that might not be a bad idea...coconut oil turns into a solid below 76 degrees...but it is not hard like ice or anything...it can still adhere to all surface. Just a thought.

  • Can you use it in lighters?

  • This is great information. Thanks for sharing.

  • Mate, this is a really good video with really good information. I'm actually collecting a lot of data on PSK. I have a thing about it because I feel most people are not realistic in their way of thinking and so on so I'm planning a video on it once I have all of it organized and This is certainly something I'm going to add to my list! You should really make more videos, I just subscribed. Cheers brother.

  • exellent video mate

  • @DominicanRegulator - Thanks!!

  • Excellent video telling multipurpose uses of coconut oil . People living in coastal region of India have been using coconut oil for several hundreds of years in their daily life. Coconut oil is also used in Ayurveda system of medicine for making some of the medicines. Thank you for uploading the video.

  • @krajaramrao - My pleasure...I am hoping more people will get the word out. I think this can make a impact world wide. The coconut tree is known as the Tree of Life for so many reasons. Coconut oil has so many uses.

  • Thanks for pointing me in a direction I hadn't considered!

  • @robbabcock1969 - Your Welcome!

  • i will put this in my survival kit thanks for the info.

  • @xxsintanxx - :0)

  • great points! Whats the shelf life of it?

  • @UrbanSurvivalcraft - That depends on what brand you buy and how it was processed...that could be anywhere from 1.5 years to several years. Sorry I can't give you an exact date. Just keep in mind...that coconut oil has lauric acid as a main component an will out last any other cooking oil.

  • How long is the shelf life of this oil. Will it deteriorate after opening?

  • For eating you want nutiva vs louann. unfortunately I hear the louann's has been bleached. the best brand you can order is "tropical traditions"

  • very good video man. what is the shelf life on coconut oil>? if a store some, will it still be good after opening the original bottle?

  • @MultiGuitarman53 - That depends on what brand you buy and how it was processed...that could be anywhere from 1.5 years to several years.

  • great vid bro!!!

  • Annnd, sold!

    Thanks man!

  • @SurvivalReality - Thanks :0)

  • Good vid!

  • Thanks for the great info ! This is why I like utube. Every now and then you pick up good info quick . Without the rambo talk , or ten minutes of head banger music , or a guy trying to make a point that is afraid to tell his brat to shut up .

  • @skunedknuckle - Glad you were able to get some useful info from it.

  • @nagempress - I have read several articles on the different qualities of coconut oil and you may be correct. Have you read the book " The Coconut Oil Miracle" ?

  • Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil ( EVOCO) is THE ONLY one that has the properties that are the anti fungal/ viral and Bacterial. If it is processed then it is DEAD. the LouAnn cheapo stuff is dead. If you heat it it is also dead!

  • Oh and it is GREAT in coffee as well... Makes it rich!

  • Do not forget raw honey in your preps as well.

  • Hopefully you're not John Snow, as winter is coming...

  • @abdieltheservant - John snow from 1813? What are you referring to?

  • @hokulea96 Game of Thrones.

  • @hokulea96 The character from a song of fire and Ice

  • @john3kbs- Wood polish huh...lol...I will have to try that :0)

  • Great to cook chicken or fish (fresh tuna) in also! Even makes a decent wood polish!

  • @jmstk - It works just like a regular candle...keep in mind when it is hotter than 76 degrees...it turns into a liquid and can spill very easily.

  • will this work in a Huricain lantern (Kerosine Lantern)

  • @mrouterrim - Well it is coconut oil...it does give off a slight aroma...I would caution using this like I do in my hair if you are in bear country...just use common sense. Besides that...I love using coconut oil for so many reasons. It is classified as a superfood and does have the ability to kill germs.

  • @hokulea96 I dont think ill be styling my hair at all esp if Im trying to stay alive yet I dont think avoiding bears could be used as "common sense" . i wouldnt even think about it but thats an awesome point really for those that dont know . Thanks for your videos , pretty awesome .

  • The only draw back would be odor if u were to trying to be stealthy. It does have odor right??

  • @devwiththewelch - LOL...yes it is...well we are starting to get some decent weather now...we still need tons of rain.

  • i also live in texas (dallas) and your right the weather is crazy its freezing one day burning the next day

  • @Uriel816...I have not had a problem with bugs...I think the smoke clears them out...the the flame gets pretty big...it makes me want to back up lol. Coconut oil burns have way clean when it is a small flame...but when it gets big...it does produce black smoke. I contribute that to whatever material you are burning with the coconut oil.

  • How do the bugs react to the smell of the burning coconut oil?

  • good info on the coconut oil. I will look into it more.

  • @chitown1966 - Hooah amigo...always good to chat with a fellow NCO...no worries it is my pleasure. I know my videos are not all razzle dazzle. I am getting there. For the most part...I am trying to just share my knowledge base and experience with things I have learned along the way. I love finding a product that has many uses.

  • Good video man Im also a retired NCO here in Central Texas, Thanks for giving me the heads up on this product. It's always good to have 'options'. Hope the fires hasn't affected you. Hooah!

  • LOL...thanks for the offer...it is a shame...you guys are drowning in water...and we can't get any water at all...ugh

  • Good luck my friend. My situation is just the opposite. The ground is so saturated that you can see it running off of lawns. Wish I could send some of it thete*
