I love this video. It displays how not every call you will be given the time to even do a rapid trauma assessment on scene. I'm glad you mentioned something about the fact that the shooter was still on scene. It explains why the medics left so much out of their assessment. I'm sure they did an assessment and took care of the pt's ABCs on the way to the hospital though. Nice video!

Shooter still on scene should have nothing to do with it as long as police are on scene also. If the shooter was there and no police, then why was EMS even there? It only takes a few seconds to put some straps on the patient and expose the chest to look for anything that can't wait those five blocks to the trauma center. Paramedics are trained in needle decompression because sometimes those few minutes to the trauma center are too long. ABC is a short, highly needed assessment on EVERY patient.
Well said. This video was full of errors. I watched a video of a male gunshot victim sitting on the front stoop up against the door. (Leg shot) Awake, talking in no distress. The paramedics never assessed him and moved to secondary assessment. Later when they got him up he had 3 slugs in the back. ABC's save lives.
haha the Pt wasnt even strapped to anything on the stretcher. It would have been funny if the stretcher tipped while they were loading her. Why did they show the scissors anyway, they oviously didnt bother to use them to expose the Pt and check for more wounds. no O2 either...nice...

awesome video!!! could not imagine working EMS in a city that has drive by shootings.would love to work in a big city where they get shootings and stuff tho just for the experience.
