i have to say vr did a decent version of this song but for somebody else to say IT'S BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL is untrue. vr didn't write the song rick nielsen from cheap trick did, and nobody can take that away from him. i prefer the original. robin zander and cheap trick own this song. and if you're going to cover a song, do it right like it was meant to sound like it was written and how people remember it.and give credit where credit is due to the original writers. that's how i play covers.

It's honestly up to the listener to decide if they feel the cover is better than the original. No one can take away the fact that they wrote this song. To me, covers should be much like the original, but with the band who's covering them putting their own sound into the song too.

Honestly, I like the original better, but to say "Covers can't be better than the original" is just ignorance. It's the listeners choice.

i never said a listener doesn't have the right to their own choice. as much as anyone has the right to decide and choose to prefer a cover over the original,another listener like myself has the right to prefer the original. so there can be an equal amount of ignorance on the part of people who think a cover version is always better than the original,just as much as those people who think the original is always better than the cover version,as well as saying things i never said.

Way better than the original, IMO. Nevertheless, this song sucked big hairy ones. I had to sing this song auditioning for a band, and it sucked then, too.  VR and PF did a lot of good stuff, but this ain't it. This is the other stuff.
