I stayed a week in Switzerland 9years ago. I found that nice people, beautiful nature and clean towns. I especially love Grindelwald.

I am a swiss living in Japan. They stereotype us a bit, but have a general good knowledge about Switzerland and Europe in general. I would say that Swiss people are more likely to stereotye Japan (everythin is technologic, geisha, samurai, the suicide problem, etc...). So I don't mind beeing a bit stereotyped at all (and these stereotypes about Switzerland are good one, so why complain?).

We actually has a vague sense that Switzland is a good country but usually that's all.

Some of my friends dont know about Switzland at all, even the name of capital.

I had asked my friends some little time ago.

They said "I dont know" "Copenhagen? or Ottawa? um... something like that..."

I also didn't know at that time though.

But now I know because I saw wikipedia just now.

Somehow I've assumed Zurich. Wtf Bern!

Well, it's only a natural reaction. When confronted with a question like:"what do you associate with country x?" everyone would give a more or less stereotype answer. It's what comes to your mind first.

lol, I see that many of them have no knoledge of cenral europe at all... I wonder if they keep on thinking that english people drink tea every day, that french have funny mustashes and sell baguette as well that Switzerland has stayed as it was 100 years ago full of cows, milk, hidi era like people with no technology etc...
