MAMA NATURAL! i heard on the news that in some baby foods and other organic foods made with brown rice have been found FOUR TIMES the 'safe' amount of arsenic! be careful! i think it might be a good idea to look into it.... sorry to get all up in ya business ;) but i would hate for one of your guys to get sick love you all! <3 katie
@PaulaAbdulRoxxxx6 Yes, we are waiting to hear from the brown rice syrup manufacturers. I do know that our bodies need arsenic but am concerned too to hear of levels. Once we know for sure we can make a final call. This recipe doesn't have brown rice syrup.
I LOVE the "to your health" flours!! I buy their sprouted flour from Cultures for Health. I am curious, do you order from Azure Standard? You'd love them. Love watching you Mama Natural!!!!! thank you for all you do and stand for!!!
@thinklove36 I've heard of Azure Standard but I actually just ordered these on their website. I wish they sold 1 lb. bags as 5 lbs. is a lot to go through! I'm trying to convince some friends to go in on an order with me as I'd love to try lots of different grains. XO.
I make coconut flour or almond flour (since we don't do grains) cupcakes/muffins/cakes here and everyone loves them! I like that frosting recipe, looks YUMMY!! We plan to do grain-free cake pops for Fia's second birthday! Maybe I will do a video!
@fluffywanderings Oh, yes, please do make a video. I haven't baked with coconut flour as the fiber content kinda freaks me out. LOL! Does it go OK with your digestive track?
@MamaNaturalBlog You use just a tiny amount of coconut flour and a huge amount of eggs, so it really isn't that much... something like 1/4c. coconut flour for a whole batch of muffins...
IS there a way you can modify the recipe for the Frosting? I was wondering because my neices birthday is coming up and we dont want too put cashew's in it or any nuts at all because some of the other kids have nut allergies. Or do they taste good without the frosting?
@RavenMidnight911 The cupcakes are a bit "dense" tasting. Don't get me wrong, they are good but I think the frosting is an important part. You could do a traditional cream cheese frosting instead of the cashew one.

@dana1900 You can try making a cream cheese frosting. That would taste lovely on these cupcakes.

Sounds yummy! What do you think about using Agave Nectar instead of Stevia?
MamaExpecting 5 months ago
@MamaExpecting Agave is probably better than white sugar but I would use maple syrup, brown rice syrup, or honey instead.

great recipe i just wondered about nut allergies in kids...
yesimatwintoo 5 months ago
@yesimatwintoo You could always do a traditional cream cheese frosting. (but then you have to worry about dairy allergies :).
