i have built some and they turned out nice....i just got some new trucks for them recently and i have the best bearings you can get i carved really good and i have slid on that thing so bad
thanks for getting back at me. you should make a tutorial or just a video describing how you made your press/jig. i was planning on using maple but for the longer board do yuo think itd be better to use birch (as you did) or perhaps bamboo? sorry for spamming you, but your definetly the most proffesional at building longboards on youtube that ive seen :)
thats an amazing job. definetly doesnt look home made :D im guessing you used 1/16th ply and layered them. im curently planning on making a 7ft longboard and im prbly just gunna use 3/4 inch maple plywood. there wont be any concave but im ok with that. any tips you have that come from expirience?
@jmtaulu Only that a 7ft board will offer many challenges as far as flexibility goes. If your profile is too narrow you may find that the first time you stand on it, it touches the floor, even at 3/4. it is better to offset the flex with either some reversed camber or convex shaping. Thats how manufacturers get away making the longer decks, through layering and glueing themselves, and shaping. Just like skis and snowboards. Watch how those are made, it makes this look easy.
Cool boards man. I'm thinking about doing a drop deck as well. How did you bend the wood without having it bend back on you. Also could you post some riding videos as I would love to see them in action.

rcplane56 4 months ago
@rcplane56 you put a long block of wood down the middle then put some over lapping on top of that 1 and then clamp it all down

@aidan649 Through using a new press profile and lot's of pressure. I was even impressed, because there was no bounceback out of the press.
