Why are you showing people this stuff??? There WILL possibly be curious people that will try this now, no matter how much you tell them not to! Maybe even children! I have a Death STalker at home. I work at a Zoo, I'm a professional. Work with arachnids a lot, and I wouldn't dare handle it! If you do, you are not using your head! And You shouldn't put things like this on YouTube that may cause curious people to get hurt or even die! I'm not attacking. I'm just worried for others and for you.
@manofgod30 Where did you hear that? At this size, Leiurus Quinquestriatus are not all that dangerous. The larger they are, the more capable they are of delivering large amounts of venom.
The "deathstalker" scorpion is not even close to be the most venomous creature in the world! It may be the most venomous of scorpions, but still can`t kill a healthy adult.. Only children an old people can die from a sting
@xadiuz82 I dont know if he is right or wrong, but speaking of how venomous something is and how deadly are two different things. Like for example this scorpion has way worse venom than say a rattle snake. But the rattler bite would be way worse, due to the amount of venom injected. So not being deadly to your average healthy person has nothing to do with how venomous it is.
The deathstalker is regarded as a highly dangerous species because its venom is a powerful cocktail of neurotoxins, with a low LD50. While a sting from this scorpion is extremely painful, it normally would not kill an otherwise healthy adult human.
Always amazes me how something so small can kill a fully grown adult in mintues!! Why do all the small, nicer looking scorps have to be so deadly!?!? You need a permit oevr here in the UK to own a scorpion like this, well, you even need one for a B.jacksoni to...
And wow! I can't believe they were that tiny when I got them about 2-years-ago. They're about 4" now! Another video will be made as soon as I get my camera back.
Okay, I keep cobras, vipers, rattlers, and all sorts of othe dangerous animals and am used to the possibility of envenomation but I would NEVER handle my death stalker- there is just no reason for it and it is not worth the risk.
I owned several highly venomous scorpions when i lived on my own (Deathstalker, A. Australis, A. Amoreuxi, Buthus Occitanus, A. Bicolor).
Of that grp of deadly 5, only the A. Australis was the one can't could NOT be handled safely cuz it was freakin' FAST & agressive, the others were fairly calm. I only handled them once, just to "have it done", but the Australis stayed untouched.
@Vighorr Sounds like a nice collection you had there! I've yet to own any Androctonus :(. The LQ's I have aren't very aggressive. They rarely sting; they'd rather flick their tail most of the time.
hey i had my bug guy come spray house here in vegas, my floors are all marble as well as the outside of my house is marble instead of stucko, i have found a total of 3 of em, and actually after spraying em w/raid put em in a cup to show my bug guy but they still keep appearing. how do i get rid of em, i'm freaked out now cuz i thought they weren't venomous--mines r same size as yours on the vid
@Musicisliberation thx for the info, i've called two bug guys and even after they sprayed they are still around, i think more are coming in the house now to eat the dead bugs. a friend suggested they might be living in the barks of the palm tree i have outside--home depot said there's no preventive scorpion spray and that i need to spray them direct--please suggest to me how to just get rid of them
@junkyman2 if your in the states, they wernt deathstalkers, they will most likely be Centuroides, yes they can be bad but arnt NEARLY as bad as these guys. these guys are from egypt.
you idiot, they are nowhere near the most dangerous "creature" on the planet, LD50 testing proves that, infact they are from from the top mate. Go play with a box jellyfish

@RoCKoR101 exactly he made a video of holding the most dangerous scorpion in the world so you need to shut the fuck up if you dont have the guts to hold a scorpion like the death stalker you cant shot anyone
i plan on getting one but your nuts, I won't handle anything I have trouble seeing, my emperor is about 7 inches long, and he might be the only one I handle...
hundreds of people a year in africa die from these scorpions, deaths are rare in the us but only because we can treat it, without treatment any normal person would die within 10 minutes to 2 hours

because, they are illegal in most places, aquatic critter in tennessee had three for sale for aboout $45 but you had to show a liscense showing you are medically trained to handle an emergency and you have to be liscensed to own venemous creatures
In Mexico we have different kind of scorpion this one is called the"gueros" means the blondies( because the skin color) some kids in Mexico play with them exactly as this video, but.... some does not matter is they feel they are threat or not they sooner o later stings.I knew a girl whos used to play with severals they seems nothing are going to happen she put one scorpion in her belly and zoom she was sting, these ones are really bad, people die.
Because I'm crazy. It didn't sting me because I didn't do anything to make it feel threatened. I have an upcoming video of me holding all five of my LQs (individually, of course). So when I get my PC up and running again, watch for it (=
The most Venomous creature on the planet is the Box jellyfish. The blue ringed octopus. The stone fish. The Belchropes sea snake. And inland Taipan are all much more venomous then the Death stalker scorpion. Cool video lets hope your local hospital has anti venom eh?
The Emperor scorpion is an excellent choice for a beginner; however, the Death Stalker is not. Granted the Death Stalkers were only my fourth species of scorpion, I knew I was ready for them.
Unless you're allergic to it. In general do not handle scorpions even if they for sure can't kill you etc. The most common mistake people make with keeping any animal is thinking it's either a toy or a human being.
This scorpion is EXTREMELY VENOMOUS! Do not mess around with it if you don't know what you're doing! You could lose your life from making a wrong decision or end up in an ambulance. I'm confident in handling all of the specimens that I do, and I know what I'm doing, so that's why I do it. Think of this as the Ripley's show, you wouldn't dare do most of the things on there, its just for the shock factor and audience pleasure. Don't handle them and use long forceps when performing tank maintenance
Also, if you don't own any species from the Buthidae family, you should start out with a less venomous one like a B. jacksoni and work your way up to Death Stalkers. Don't get it if you're not ready!
Very deadly but very cute. Epecially that he was so calm. Is that rare for a death stalker? Or could it be because he's so young? A very charming fellow you have there:) How's he doing now? If only they were as intelligent as dogs, Scorpions are very charming critters that have a charm that mammals don't possess, and not to mention their beauty.

What I would recommend is taking a good-sized deli container (or something similar), life the hide up with tongs (I have a pair of 11" tweezers), put the deli cup somewhere on the substrate, and then lure him in with the tweezers. After that Just tilt the cup back up with the tweezers and pick it up. Be cautious of air holes ;-)
Oh right. Thank you. I know my questions must sound very stupid but I'm trying to learn more about Scorpions. As I said to a friend, I've always been intreagued by scorpions and want to learn more about them. :) So thank you for your time.
You're welcome. Just don't get this scorpion as your first. Try an emperor, spinifer, or even a desert hairy as your first scorpion. There's way too much risk involved with scorpions -- the Death Stalker in particular.
I don't think I'd be able to get one in England, would I? Surely it's too cold? - Again, I don't know huge deals about Scorpions which is why I want to learn more. Fascinating beings lots to learn about them too. Thanks for the advice though ;)
It's not the weather that's the problem; it's the fact that all scorpions from the Buthidae family are illegal where you live. You would need to obtain a DWA (Dangerous Wild Animals) permit in order to be able to legally keep these scorpions because of the toxicity level of them.
i had a emperor scorpion, i bring it with me from florida to puerto rico, but its been more than 4 years since that, i almost buy 3 death stalkers, buts it was to risky to bring them in the airplane
You are brave, man! I'm guessing you trained this scorpion to some degree? How do you know whether or not it feels threatened? Just wondering, in case I ever encounter one.
Thanks. I didn't train it at all. Inverts are untrainable (AFAIK). You don't know it's feelings. All I do is try not to do something that'll make him sting me.
Good because one wrong move and you could end up in the hospital -- if you're lucky. Since this video, they've molted twice, and I've handled them yet again. I've never witnessed any signs of aggression from them. Only when they're being bugged by a cricket.
@junkyman2 The one in this video is a Deathstalker scorpion, found only in Africa, unless you buy them for a pet trade.

Yup so don't do it.
brandonjaeger 2 years ago
Not likely, statistically speaking.
burmish101 2 years ago
I've a heart condition which makes me infirm, so yes, it could kill me if I was stung.
brandonjaeger 2 years ago
Well if "showing off" is worth the risk to you, to each his own.
burmish101 2 years ago

oldskool61892 2 years ago
In general when you need to move them would you use special gloves or "tweesers" or something?
Planetwatts 3 years ago
What I would recommend is taking a good-sized deli container (or something similar), life the hide up with tongs (I have a pair of 11" tweezers), put the deli cup somewhere on the substrate, and then lure him in with the tweezers. After that Just tilt the cup back up with the tweezers and pick it up. Be cautious of air holes ;-)

Oh right. Thank you. I know my questions must sound very stupid but I'm trying to learn more about Scorpions. As I said to a friend, I've always been intreagued by scorpions and want to learn more about them. :) So thank you for your time.
Planetwatts 3 years ago
You're welcome. Just don't get this scorpion as your first. Try an emperor, spinifer, or even a desert hairy as your first scorpion. There's way too much risk involved with scorpions -- the Death Stalker in particular.
brandonjaeger 3 years ago

Kingvenom7 3 years ago
You are brave, man! I'm guessing you trained this scorpion to some degree? How do you know whether or not it feels threatened? Just wondering, in case I ever encounter one.
MoviManATL 3 years ago
Thanks. I didn't train it at all. Inverts are untrainable (AFAIK). You don't know it's feelings. All I do is try not to do something that'll make him sting me.
brandonjaeger 3 years ago
I would never even consider those small little guys. You don't have to worry about me copy-catting.
Shyguyx12 3 years ago
Good because one wrong move and you could end up in the hospital -- if you're lucky. Since this video, they've molted twice, and I've handled them yet again. I've never witnessed any signs of aggression from them. Only when they're being bugged by a cricket.
brandonjaeger 3 years ago
I've had emperor's and an Egyptian Black-tailed, I am trying to stay away from anything that can kill me.
Shyguyx12 3 years ago
Where are you v3x ? I need you to edit my pw on the admin pannel asap.
