@Katzelle3 No, online is NOT "done". The thing you fail to understand is that it's not just about having online services, it's about having online services that DON'T SUCK. Even the PSN struggles to deliver an experience consistently as smooth as Xbox Live. Nintendo has even less experience in this regard, and they have shown in the past that online integration is not something they understand or even care about. 300 dollars is WAY TOO MUCH for casual gamers.
What Nintendo needs is another Gamecube or something like that. It will honestly reel in new gamers. I mean what if Nintendo announced something that's not an new version of something that's still relatively new and announce a remake of a old console instead. When I bought a DSi, the next day the 3DS was announced. They should make a console and stick to it.
NFC could be useful for little things like prepaid cards and maybe even gifting VC games. Something big I'd like to see with it would make moving your online information to other friends's houses less tedious than XBL (haven't had to do it with SEN yet). Each console could come with a little card that contains your information. Hold it next to the controller and it automatically downloads your information to the console. There may be some security issues, but I could see it working.

Hardcore gamers want everything: excellent and competitive online play, adult-oriented games, high-fidelity graphics, challenging and deep gameplay. Casual gamers only want something inexpensive that gratifies them instantly. If you cater to the hardcore then it's going to be expensive and you lose the casuals. If you cater to casuals then your library fills up with shovelware and you lose the hardcore.
@AEGgamer122495 Those non-gamers bought the Wii because the idea of playing games with actual motion interested them, and plus the Wii was the cheapest option out of all the available systems, which led to it selling well to non-gamers and cheap parents despite having a minimal amount of good games. The Wii U will be more expensive and downplays the features that made it appealing to non-gamers, so there's no way that non-gamers will flock to it like they did with the Wii.

The PS2 had limited online features and a few games supported online multiplayer but it didn't have a robust service. The Gamecube had NOTHING in that regard. So no, by that generation Sony and Microsoft already had some experience while Nintendo still has next to none.

About the technology for PS4 (I know it will use AMD technology). Like James Armstrong said, it won't be big leap from PS3....
It's not a big surprise that Sony is going a similar way like Microsoft, since one of their primary targets is to destroy XBox. And also Sony was always saying developers are not taking the PS3's full potential.
I have to say, i made a mistake, 'cause the most important thing in a game is the gameplay and the overall gaming experience and not just graphics and technology. Excuse me for that.

The service is called Nintendo Network and will be powered by Nintendo, EA and other companies.
It's a new accout based system, that also includes the eShop, a new App Store that should also offer non gaming apps, EA's Origin, Steam and many other stores third party companies offer.

Even the PSN struggles to deliver an experience consistently as smooth as Xbox Live. NFC could be useful for little things like prepaid cards and maybe even gifting VC games. Something big I'd like to see with it would make moving your online information to other friends's houses less tedious than XBL (haven't had to do it with SEN yet). Each console could come with a little card that contains your information. Hold it next to the controller and it automatically downloads your information to the console. There may be some security issues, but I could see it working.

Hardcore gamers want everything: excellent and competitive online play, adult-oriented games, high-fidelity graphics, challenging and deep gameplay. Casual gamers only want something inexpensive that gratifies them instantly. If you cater to the hardcore then it's going to be expensive and you lose the casuals. If you cater to casuals then your library fills up with shovelware and you lose the hardcore.

@AEGgamer122495 Those non-gamers bought the Wii because the idea of playing games with actual motion interested them, and plus the Wii was the cheapest option out of all the available systems, which led to it selling well to non-gamers and cheap parents despite having a minimal amount of good games. The Wii U will be more expensive and downplays the features that made it appealing to non-gamers, so there's no way that non-gamers will flock to it like they did with the Wii.

@coolal124 Okay, first of all aiming is NOT motion sensing, people aim all the time with the mouse in PC shooters and aiming with the Wiimote is only an extension of that. Motion gameplay is stuff that involves swinging a sword or golf club around and that's completely SHIT because there is NO feedback whatsoever, in addition to there being a massive amount of input lag. People say motion gaming is intuitive, I completely disagree, it actually serves to ruin my immersion in games.
