  • Singer is trying to hard, just needs to feel it. ya know?

  • How cool is Shawn Pelton!

  • THIS WAS A KILLER VERSION OF THE SONG,,, CALL MY BLUFF!!!!!

  • The drum line is tight from the get-go but Chromeo's Dave 1's opening vocals just seems so "affected." No one can do this song as authentically as Boz!

Boz has just got that whiskey-burned, lived-(and loved)-too-much-on-the-edge, street-wise, gravel-rocks-in-the-mouth, voice of authenticity.

The musicianship in this video with Daryl and Chromeo is game, but nobody but nobody can sing this song like Boz - 36 years ago or 36 days ago! Check out the original "Lowdown" man.

  • Incredible ... one bitch ... flute line is too behind the groove.

  • I can't stop watching. You guys don't get Dave's vocals. He has rough tone which adds to the song. What is up with Daryl? He was 60 when this was recorded.

  • man, the 3 dislikes are probably bieber fans...

  • @bandypaul LOL Daryl Hall sings much better than him

  • Maravilhoso !!! Sensacional !!! Acho Daryl completo: como compositor e cantor !!!

Gostaria de entrar em contato com o Fã Clube dele aqui no Brasil para uma Parceria.

  • well done gents! keep up the good work, this is what the music world needs.

  • Cool concept.

  • Chromeo got the swag! He fits right in!

  • i think chromeo had to take a shit

  • the chomeo dudes look all akward the whole time

  • @Noyore I agree, but some bad ass musicians. These dudes have all played with some big time people.

  • @dmercado589 Sure beats some of these musicians nowadays favored by most kids and teens who can't sing and can't write good lyrics for a song

  • Absolutely brilliant! Thoroughly enjoyed that. My love for Daryl Hall has just been rekindled! Not heard this in years. :)

  • Now THAT's a supergroup

  • MAN,THATS THE SHIT.....

  • Greatt!!!guyss, no questions.

  • Dbag singing ruined the song

  • Love that ending! Soo pretty!

  • Not sure about Dave 1 here - he doesn't seem to get the vocal phrasing.

  • Daryl hit this great tune perfect... The other singer should just stick to the guitar and not try to sing!

  • WILL SOMEBODY WAKE ME UP CAUSE I JUST DREAMED I SAW DARYL HALL AND SOME OTHER MUSICIANS PLAYING BOZ SCAGGS LOWDOWN IN SOMEBODY'S HOUSE.ON SECOND THOUGHT,LET ME SLEEP.I'M TIRED AS HELL.

  • Shaun Pelton on drums. The guy is one of the best drummers in the world. You know Darryl is rich as hell if he can afford a drummer of his magnitude.

    R.I.P. T-Bone.

  • G.A.H

  • You Guys have the music to this song As good as it gets!!!.... We play this song also.....Flatline band Cover Boz!!!

  • This is great, Boz is great. Boz is a Texan. Call him up.

  • Fookin great ! Needs more bass! Let Daryl do da singin! Love it !

  • Daryl's got some nasty chops on this one!

  • I've never heard of Chromeo...but I totally dig this guy's vocals and of course Daryl's in fine form as always. I also agree with whoever said these need to be cds...or even dvds...I'd buy 'em all!

  • I really like chromeo, but man Daryl just kills him on the vocals.. lol makes him sound so bad

  • aw man this just puts me in a solid mood- brothers of all walks gettin it together

  • @edbies I agree wholeheartedly, love is the answer and good grooves! music = world peace

  • "Daryl" at (5:25) was so cool from the Chromeo Dude!

  • I can't get enough of this video ! they are all great... All enjoying the groove..

  • Huuumm... Did you hear that, Justin Bieber? ...then do the same now!

  • A lot of FOOKIN' TALENT in that room!

  • Both Boz&Daryl are "totally awesome" cant get enough of their music, remember them back in the 80s. They need to make what Daryl does at his house into cds ect. This here is just too much talent that these mucisians have to just waste, tell ya this stuff will sell.

  • I LOVE IT! SO F***IN KOOL!

  • Damn that was smooth!

  • I love how much affection Daryl has in his voice when he talks about Boz.

  • When Darryl starts to sing...its just like magic :)

  • These cats bring it. I love the black les paul. My favorite guitar. How about the vocals!

  • Boz opening for hall and oates...now that is one damn smoking show....let's make it real..the smoothest guys in the biz on one bill? heaven!!!!

  • @TrishBell1 Nice sounding idea ya I can go for that.

  • just wanted to be neighbors of these guys. They are fantastics.

  • Here is the thing about Lowdown. People of my generation born in the 70s and 80s misinterpret the genius of the song and think of it as a silly disco song because of the disco sounding synthesizer. But the rest of the song with the blues guitar and soulful crooning is just genius.

  • @AlisoViejoMan Disco is NOT silly.it is one of the best music genre EVER created!!!!!

Just think to EW&F september or boogie wonderland and the thousand of incredible disco-funk hits .

Check CERRONE LIVE and CERRONE LIVE AT VERSAILLES to watch an amazing DISCO CONCERT by one of the best bands EVER!

Even the last JAMIROQUAI record is a DISCO masterpiece!

    DISCO-SOUL-FUNK RULES!

  • I wonder, wonder, wonder, wonder who ... ?

  • Got dang that was awesome.....think I'll watch it again

  • I love the moment at 0:09 when Dave 1 is shaking his head like, "You did not just say we could get Boz Scaggs to come over." It's so cool to see young artists with appreciation, love and respect for quality musicians who came before them.

  • nice

  • I think Daryl Hall should be opening for Scaggs, not the other way around. 'Ol Boz is a legend!

Scaggs does about a 100 shows a year and he's 67 years old.

  • sings this like shit lol back up is soulful tho plus hall is sick lol

  • sings this like shit lol back up is soulful tho

  • shoot the guitar player

  • wow. Chromeo and Daryl Hall playing Lowdown by Bozz Scaggs. pretty cool, you don't get to see this kind of music too often.

  • How can this video only have 90,000 views???

Saw Boz Scaggs last summer with McDonald and Fagen -- killer song

  • @captpmonahan I think most people have caught on to his website "Live From Daryl's House" and are watching his performances there. It's loaded with priceless performances. Nothing compares, honestly.

  • Mr. Hall and Mr. Scaggs together would =Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Unbelievable groove--- all the way around. Me and my honey have enjoyed the smooth groove, smooth soul--- link after link. Thank you for the gift. Yeah baby!

  • RIP T-Bone.

  • Wow, 3 persons have absolutely no idea what great music is ... They have to be Justin Bieber fans ...

  • Totally cool jam track...Awesome job by all!!!

  • Dude looks like Buddy Holly.

  • Big fan of Daryl and of course boz scaggs

  • big fan of Darryl and of course Boz Scaggs

  • The drummer is Shawn Pelton ... SNL drummer.

  • This makes me smile so wide it hurts my mouth. Does that make sense?

  • WHO IS THIS DRUMMER PLEASE????

  • VOCALS!!!! MR DARRYL HALL DAAAAAMN!!!

  • Hard to explain. I am fortunate young person to been exposed to these extremely talented individuals. Daryl is underappreciated , but it is great that he pumps out this gorgeous compilations regardless.

  • @Rshimy He is not under appreciated my friend. You are talking about one of two people who represent the greatest duo that ever played music... The guy was born in 1946 and trust me has way more fans than you can imagine. When I was a really young lad we pumped Hall and Oates constantly...

  • Fuckin' pocket jam groove....

  • does the youtube counter distinguish multiple visits from the same computer? If not, I swear I account for over 100 of those! I wish Daryl sold the MP3's to these jam sessions.

  • @bodtchboy Real player will make your wish come true... Get at me if you can't figure it out after you down load the player.

  • Love this as much as the Boz Scaggs version. RIP T-Bone. I wish I had half of your talent.

  • I love Boz Scaggs, and i love Daryl Hall. That's so cool .

  • john harrington is one of the best guitar players ever

  • Daryl please our with Boz Sacggs . magnificent idea!!!

  • Boz Scaggs is a mystery to these guys! Wake up!

  • Man, Daryl and his friends are simply awesome!!!! What great musical artists!!!!!!

  • brilliant!

  • Dirty Lowdown....... that's so cool!

  • One of my favorite grooves of all time. One of my least favorite choices for lead vocal though-very weird.

  • Super cool!

  • These boys ain't got no business touchin this song

  • @AUTZEN29

Yeah right...a bunch of guys getting around to have a jam session. And here you sit on the internet, eating Cheetos, jerking off, and telling us who can and cannot play what song or jam to what tune.

Next time you feel like making a statement or offering an opinion, please try to come off as sounding half intelligent.

  • Daryl's way - too cool.

  • Boz and Daryl should play together in concert. Both great!!!

  • this is fucking fantastic. that is all.

  • Boz Scaggs is from Plano Texas.

  • @RegalLife actually he's from Canton Ohio

  • AWESOME version of a brilliant Boz Scaggs classic!!! This epitimizers class and style. No bloody "lip singers" here. To everyone who enjoys getting ripped off by imposters that call themselves singers, watch this and get educated.......THIS IS REAL PURE TALENT AT ITS BEST!!!!!

  • The quite Canadians in the corner. :D

  • All they need is 66 year old Scaggs with em...Fuck that would be awesome!

  • Chromeo look so out of place in the beginning. lol

  • I love "Live from Daryl's House". This song is one of the best performances from the whole series, together with "Family Affair' that they did with Robbie Krieger and Ray Manzarek. I love Chromeo's coolness, Daryl's voice, the percussionist's enthusiasm, and T-Bone's guitar-playing. All are great! Rest in peace T-Bone Wolk, thank you for the great music. God bless.

  • i saw the lead singer and thought "kassem G!" LOL

love both hall and oates and boz scaggs.

    "the dirty lowdown"

  • Intro and verse: E min9 - A13

    Bridge: D - C#+5 - C6 - B7b9

    Guitar solo section: F# min9 - B13

That's all you need to know to play this song

  • Great version!

  • I'd love to stop buy and wash windows, paint, do anything while these guys are playing. great music

  • owhhh...this is so great!!!

  • I think all the studio musicians on the Boz Scaggs "Silk Degrees" album got together and fromed the band Toto. Daryl and the boys here do a great job keepin' true to the original funk and the groove on "Lowdown". Vocals are superb. I'd hire these guys to play at my annual Labor Day backyard barbecue.

  • yessir!

  • @tommodern1 You ask for too much. Just shows you know nothing about music. I bet you're a fucking rapper fan. Shit.

  • Comment removed

  • @tommodern1 No need to read it. It's not important to me anyway. You can have whatever you want.

  • Sick. You can throw a nursery rhyme at these guys and they'll turn it into magic!! Awesome!

  • The blond guy on keyboards used to be with the Average White Band. He replaced Hamish Stuart on vocals/keys/bass etc. I'm glad he has moved on to better things. (Not that AWB are not great - they are still fantastic)

  • I'm sorry to hear of the passing of T-Bone Wolk. I've been a fan of Hall and Oates since the 1970's. I used to work in Pottstown, PA for a while, and I have a special feel for the old Lunchenette. I love this band.

  • Keys: Eliot Lewis (formerly AWB) Percussion: Everett Bradley

Guitar: T-Bone Wolk (R.I.P.) Drums: Shawn Pelton

    Bass: Zev Katz

LFDH uses other guest drummers. Mike Braun is H&O's regular drummer. Paul Pesco is back as guitarist for H&O and now LFDH. Charlie DeChant is H&O's long-time saxophonist. H&O tours as an eight-member band.

  • Does anyone know Daryl's band members? It looks like Steve Weingart on keys?

  • Lowdown,,,,,

  • Sliiiiiiick

  • How tight is this version! The vocal harmonies especially! Great, great song performed superbly.

  • i love CHROMEO! then when i heard them with daryl hall and boz scaggs....i was holy shit this is amazing.ool

  • This is off the hook!! My band Electric Bakery is about to cover this song so I found this vid looking for other covers of it. I'm blown away! These dudes are killing it! Didn't know Daryl Hall played stuff like this and I'd never heard of Chromeo. Groovy as shit!

  • Boz Boz cool !

  • Great stuff...We lived this tune to the limit at a club I used to run in Malta, Plants in the late 70's ! Hi to all that made it happen..what a groove !

  • Good Jam. Excellent musicians giving Boz the tribute he deserves...

  • I think Daryl Hall should open for Boz, (no offense). Scaggs enjoyed more critical acclaim jumping and fusing blues, jazz, rock, and pop. He has remained current and he is 65 years of age. Hall and Oates did pop and pretty much that was it, albeit extremely successful.

  • Such a loss.......Sorry to hear about his passing

  • Excellent job on this song!!!!

  • Boz was also in the Steve Miller Band very early on. you can hear his vocal in Living in the USA

  • And that classic stuff with Duane Allman.

  • BOZ SCAGGS is a good TEXAS BOY

  • Nope you're all wrong, Boz was born in Canton, Ohio. He moved around a fair bit.

  • @Fishdaddy99 Actually he's originally from Canton, Ohio...

  • Baller

  • me parece excelente, sobretodo el toque especial, osea la cereza sobre la torta,, la voz inconfundible de daryl,,,esta musica me traslada aun extasis,,realmente formidable

  • This is a stone groovy. Good night, how awesome it would be to sit in on a jam with these guys.

  • @grippin762 amen to that brutha.

  • Amazing jam! It doesn′t get any better than this!

  • such a slick jam

  • Thanks for the video. This is another excellent version of Lowdown. I like the arrangement with acoustic guitar in slower tempo.

  • appreciate all music...... it crazy to see artists like chromeo to play boz scaggs! this is what music is all about. no limits.

  • i cant think a better duo group...they gotta make an album together

  • This rendition was great! Daryl Hall and the boys did one hell of a job. The Boz is no doubt very proud! What a great tribute to one of the best musicians and singer/songwriters of the modern age.

  • ithink they done a good job but boz and hall and oates are great sjngers

  • Excellent Jam. Boz should be proud of this rendition.

  • 3563313 is a douche and probably doesn't have a clue what he is looking at when hes watching musicians and critiquing them, feel free to retort and show everyone how much of a hater you are

  • Such a hot jam!

  • love, love it very smooth jam..

  • Great song, really good job.

    Let Daryl sing alone. Pleeeease!

Thank you so much for posting.

  • The Chromeo dude looks like Buddy Holly

  • Guys, if you like Chromeo, check Corey Haim on youtube - type Corey Haim Me, Myself & I to get to the video and forward through to about 2:40 into the vid to hear his sick grooves. Super talent just like Chromeo, eeeoh!

  • the actor??

  • I think they done a GREAT job with the song . I just wished i knew all the chords to it and i mean the right ones.

  • That was really a good version of the song.

I just watched Boz sing at a live peformance and this one was much better.

  • Comment removed

  • Haterrrrr.

  • Boz was born in Ohio, but grew up in Dallas, where he met Steve Miller in school.

  • This is damn awesome. That dude who's complaining in these comments is clearly one of those music snobs they were talking about during this show. Chromeo are amazing and so is Daryl Hall... this entire show was a HUGE win. :)

  • daryl hall + chromeo = delicious.

  • Go Daryl! Doing it Old school! YEA!

  • is Hall mad at Oates or something?

  • Boz. H&O. Chromeo. Fuck yeah..........

  • Is that Eddie Lewis formerly of AWB¿

  • Elliot

  • first of all it would be more like they would open for Boz not Boz open for them ,He is on the road selling out concerts everywhere ,where are they

  • their concerts are always sold out, where you been?

  • The drummer Sean Pelton is the shit! What a pocket!!!
