@tazerboy93swe Well, this card is going for around 500$, I paid 750$ for my 590. The 590 is just under twice the performance of a 580. This card, in my opinion, isn't much more than a glorified 580 or 6970. So, I think it's worth the extra money. I really want to mine in SLI.

7970 is a much better card and the 590 is dual so hard to really compare.

2x7970's blows the 590 out of the water.

That being said when the 690 or maybe 790 dependin on there naming scheme, they will be monster cards, although rumors say nvidia are struggling

7970 is a much better card. as it's cheaper cooler, overclocks better and VRAM is good when crossfiring.

amd are ahead for now.

@Hero0fWarr Now, if AMD utilized this power in a dual GPU card, it would be much more powerful than the 590. Considering GPU's alone, yes this is a hell of a card. Overall performance, I'd stick with the 590.. it's cheaper than putting this card in CrossFire. Just my opinion, though.

@Hero0fWarr Lol from what I see, P67 and Z68 don't differ alot. Thus, an upgrade to z68 is not really worth the money. And most of the P67 boards are still cheaper than the z68. That's another plus. :)

Z68 allows for the use of onboard graphics, useful for things like Lucid virtu as well as having a backup to faulty graphics cards. Not to mention Intel SRT which seems like a pretty nice feature to have.

For anyone not water cooling and looking for aftermarket cooling search Accelero Xtreme 7970

It's a bit expensive but if your not watercooling and want the card with top notch cooling check it out

The Accelero Xtreme 5870 was 40 bucks and it dropped my temps on my 5870 from 70C max load 2 about 40's max load big big big diff the coolers are epic easy 2 install for the price you get a realy good deal

games that push current cards aren't gonna do much better than slightly older ards, my 5870 still runs games well but i bet newer cards cant run every game 60+ fps constantly.

I'm waiting for the 512bit bus cards later this year, hopefully we get no poorly coded games that dip to 20-30fps and stay a nice 60+

1x 7970, purely because you can have a crossfire set up in the future with more powerful cards. the 2x 6950 will perform better but use more power, and not be as 'future proof' as the 7970. 6950 is still a decent card though...
