Hell yes it's ok to boo your favorite team if they're playing like shit. Also, why is it wrong to boo college athletes? If you're on national tv, and you're there to entertain, you're fair game. I would've booed the hell out of both Butler and UConn for that shitty title game!
they are professionals. the fans pay great money to watch them and have every right to boo etc etc. I support liverpool and it is very rare that we will boo our own team. it happened once last season
Well around here with our Football/Soccer team we have an unwritten rule: Never "Boo" at the own team, well anyway as you now European don't boo, they whistle with their fingers.
Anyway we had a game which we lost, the game wasn't that good and some idiots started whisteling. There were a lot of fans getting pissed at each other because some think that by buying your ticket you automatically have to get entertained. But Soccer isn't like the cinema... I say: NEVER Boo your own team!
You can boo professionals. You pay to see them win, and they get paid to win. You can't boo college athletes under for anything they do related to the game, they don't get paid and they're kids lighten up.
Hey JR ur rite about the booing i hate the lakers with pride and i booed them in the clippers vs lakers game i personally think that watching blake griffin dunk is more entertaining than kobe launching shots with godly powers
I don't think it's bad to boo a home team if they are awful. I DO think it's terrible to compare yourself as an athlete to a soldier. Regardless of if you win or lose, you will still go home to your mutli-million dollar pad and soak it off in a hot tub with some champagne. If you're a soldier and lose you come home in a body bag. And lucky you, if you do "win," many times you come home to an empty airport lobby. I am glad that he retracted, but seriously!

when they start talking bout familes its gone to far keep your heckling towards the player or team thats it and yea you can boo ur team too if they aint playing well
^_^ everytime I watch jrsportsbreif.. I try and count how many times the man BLINKS when he talks.. it's like he blinks every 2 words... I mean... I could beat him in a staring contest even with sand in my eye.. hehe
Dude, you said it best. The best action isn't what goes on on the field or court, it's what goes on in the stands. That's why baseball is such a great spectator sport! I love the hecklers and the haters! They make the games fun! Do you remember the white guy who used to heckler the visiters at every Bullets game? That's what I'm talkin about!!
Professional athletes need to do like my girl and take it up the ass!
Ya one time I took my son to a eagles and panthers game last year. The game ended up being 31-10 and the panthers fans (some of the them ) were escorted out of the stadium yes it can go to far every person that was an eagle fan witnessed alot of panther fans leaving. And let me tell you it was really easy to get out of the stadium.
As a brit I would if my foootball (scocer ) Team is playing awlful then we are going to boo. The england Football team is always getting booed at home at the moment as people are sick of the bad results. Players have to suck it up and take it.
Heckling is fine as long as you said it does not cross the line. A player actual fly kicked someone during a game as he was heckling him I believe but I could be wrong that the heckler was shouting stuff about the players kids and how he hope they died.
I believe fans have every right in the world 2 boo who ever. Home team visiting team doesn't matter it's all apart of sports. I do think that there are limits though when you start getting personal talkin bout guys families and excessive cursing . Other than that everyone go head and it your "boo" on!
If it's okay to boo the home team? OH MY GOD. DO YOU KNOW WHAT 2 JETS GAMES I ATTENDED THIS YEAR? RAVENS AND PACKERS. yes Jr, I've booed the home team a buttload
your called a 'supporter'..and a true supporter of any team supports his team true thick and thin..if you boo ur team that you support then your not a supporter
To be honest, I want to see a fight. Even thought it may not be good for a school/organization, its still entertaining. Boos and chants are OK, unless its at a school.
It goes too far when people do not appreciate 7 years of your career devoted to that organization and when you put them in perfect position to be a championship contender for years then when it doesn't work multiple times sed person decides to do the human thing and try something new. Too bad, would have been nice to see a return to Cleveland, I am pretty sure they would like to have him back. Obviously we see now how they feel.
I think that Fans should be able to boo cheer jeer or anything they want because Ticket prices are way to high these days. But Fans need to learn not to go to far because Player can and will wild out like Ron Artest
i know the alabama fans have the right to boo their own team, they under acheived this year, and alabama has some of the highest expectations out there, the players and coaches should know that and LIVE UP TO IT
you don't return julio jones, mark ingram, trent richardson, marquis maze, greg mcelroy and not have one of the most explosive offenses in college football
@aubiesucks12 Bama was just not as good a team as they were last year Bama fans are some of the most unappreciated fans ever Nick wins a BCS title and then this year ppl boo him. Look at a program like texas who went to the BCS title game and this year they aren't even making a bowl. WAR CAM EAGLE BABY
@DreDaDon16 maybe not as good a team that was a hell of a team, but the offense should have been better,
bama fans boo about the fact that the offense should be outscoring everyone, dropping 40 or 50 a game is what alabama should have done all year with all that talent
Texas did boo their team btw
Teams like Texas, Alabama, USC have the highest expectations out there and the coaches and players should know this and LIVE UP TO IT
at the beginning of the game when auburn ran out their tunnel an alabama fan threw monopoly money on the auburn players lol (fitting i guess) meanwhile the loudest boo you will ever hear happened in bryant denny (well i thought that untill i saw lebron return to cleveland lol) they booed so loud obviously because of all the controversey surrounding the auburn program, lets face it, cam newton was bought and i would be shocked if he was the only one
Im a big Jazz fan, and it does bother me when some of our dumb ass fans go out there with shirts the say "Fisher Lied" I think if your going to the trouble of doing that you are both crossing the line, and being a dumb ass giving other fans a bad name.
Well rely you do have the right to boo your home team when their not playing so good to preform at a high level. And on top of that the fans work for their hard earn money to come see their team bet their opponent and yet not playing so great. If your a die hard fan you would not boo and stick with the home team till the end. theres two different fans the die hard ones and the fan weathers.
I believe heckling is all good. Nothing thrown onto the field. And not crossing the line talking about the player's family. Everything else is fair game.
Funny you should do this video today because I was at my high school's hockey game tonight and a kid on the other time tried to fight me after I was making fun of him when he lost. The ref was laughing when he saw this.
Fans are the bosses we pay their salary, we make them millionars, im a boxin fan every time i pay 50 or 60 dollars for PPV or pay $300 for a ticket i want to see my employees do a good job, if they dont hell yeah we can boo'em.
You don't boo your home team unless they are completely awful constantly. For example, if you have a very good team but they are playing shitty one game, don't boo. But if you have a shitty team and they are playing a shitty game, boo them. Basically what I am saying is you should boo a bad team playing bad, but not a good team playing bad if that makes sense
Dany Heatley (a hockey player) returned to Ottawa (team he left after he demanded a trade and said the coach was a dumbass) last Thursday and they did chants and booed him and were respectful, but after the game people started throwing beer onto the ice. That's taking it way too far.
To what you said about booing a home team, I think it's okay at the right time. I mean, if the team is straight up sucking and getting blown-out, then you can boo them. But if they play bad for a game, it's not okay
@mathew3755 I ran out of characters to use. To add to what I said about booing home teams. If they keep getting blown-out and lose game after game, then it's okay to boo
it is completly right to boo your home team . you should never lose sight of the purpose of any sport/show ... it is to entertanin you, if the performance of the actors in a teather sucks .. well they used to trow food at em . if its good you will get rewarded with a huge applause. well things has changed a bit, now you will get BOoed hard, as an espectator you pay to get some level of performance , if you dont get it well you can boo em :P. this applies to any sport/ boxing/soccer/basketbal..
i think booing your home team is garbage. what kinda fan are you if you boo your own team. booing is not gonna help and motivate them. you gotta cheer on your team even if they're doing poorly. keep them motivated and have some confidence in your squad.
here's a little glen beck math. (starts writing on a chalkboard) "booing". now reverse that. "gnioob". take out g and i. you get noob. then reverse g and i and add a b for briefs. you get big. you get big noobs over all. people who boo are big noobs. That is the answer. Oh yeah and obama=hitler socialist commie. (Back to me). Wo that was an outer body experience. im back. wo, phew. yeah booing is ok.
I believe there should be limits to booing and heckling if you're sitting in front rows and you want to get in an athetes face or get physical by throwing shit like bottles or trash then thats what id consider "going tooo far" i remember i was at the Broncos vs Raiders game a few weeks ago when we Blew out the Broncos 59-14 every broncos fans were booing their own team and i dont blame them. LMAO!!
If you try to physically harm the athelete or if you do demeaning things like spit or fill up a cup with your piss and throw it at that athelete, then that and other similar circumstances is where it is considered "too far". Other than that, fans can hate anybody they want. I'm a Charger fan and when Merriman started sucking, I bought a poster of him at the game, drew a penis on it that went to his mouth, and taped it on the wall of the bathroom at Qualcomm.
It is perfectly fine to boo ur home team, i boo the Phils when it gets to far, at some point u need to send a message the team isnt getting the job done. then ESPN rips philly
KD blocked me on Twitter because he couldn't take it like a champ when I told him he was going to get locked up by Ron Artest in last season's first round playoff match-up.
I feel bad when home teams and players are booed! But hey I've been the home town booer too. It's part of being a fan though! I've never seen it go too far, well never mind I take that back there's been a couple incidences when fans wen't too far and the players threw chairs into the stand (MLB) or ran into the stands and beat up fans (NBA) I guess i goes too far when it's not "booing" but when it turns into "talking shit" or fans end up throwing stuff at players
it goes too far when theres blood drawn & fights/riots break out (cough, cough Ron Artest) but VOCALLY u can express ur opinion, but be careful wit that too cuz theres kids around
@iamoptionb Haha I agree, dude. I remember watching that Niner/ Eagle game this year.....and damn I hadn't heard Candlestick boo that loud in a long time...and especially boo our hometown Niners. But you know what? I didn't think it was that bad, the yeam, Smith in particular, was pathetic, and the fans were sick of it. Yes, it's okay to boo your own team, but that, I believe is on a personal level. I probably wouldn't do it, but it doesn't bother me, when it does happen. I understand.
You are so right!

But if they play bad for a game, it's not okay
mathew3755 1 year ago
@mathew3755 I ran out of characters to use. To add to what I said about booing home teams. If they keep getting blown-out and lose game after game, then it's okay to boo
mathew3755 1 year ago
it is completly right to boo your home team . you should never lose sight of the purpose of any sport/show ... it is to entertanin you, if the performance of the actors in a teather sucks .. well they used to trow food at em . if its good you will get rewarded with a huge applause. well things has changed a bit, now you will get BOoed hard, as an espectator you pay to get some level of performance , if you dont get it well you can boo em :P. this applies to any sport/ boxing/soccer/basketbal..

i think booing your home team is garbage. what kinda fan are you if you boo your own team. booing is not gonna help and motivate them. you gotta cheer on your team even if they're doing poorly. keep them motivated and have some confidence in your squad.

Fans should not boo the home team. They do not know basketball nearly as well as my coach does

here's a little glen beck math.

LMAO!!
raiderfan89ify 1 year ago
Oh man, we Redskins fans know an awful lot about booing the home team. Last year, the team got booed at home after a 9-7 WIN over the Rams!!!

tbeast4life 1 year ago
If you try to physically harm the athelete or if you do demeaning things like spit or fill up a cup with your piss and throw it at that athelete, then that and other similar circumstances is where it is considered "too far". Other than that, fans can hate anybody they want. I'm a Charger fan and when Merriman started sucking, I bought a poster of him at the game, drew a penis on it that went to his mouth, and taped it on the wall of the bathroom at Qualcomm.

Athletes shouldn't get butt hurt from being booed at home. Instead they should apologize to the fans and say tune in next week..

661EASTON89 1 year ago
If you're paying good money and you get too many losses for your team and the team look lazy then heckling and booing is fair game.

@JRSportBrief i believe its perfectly fine to boo your home team if your coach is mike singletary and leaving in alex smith when he sucks ass
iamoptionb 1 year ago
@iamoptionb Haha I agree, dude. I remember watching that Niner/ Eagle game this year.....and damn I hadn't heard Candlestick boo that loud in a long time...and especially boo our hometown Niners. But you know what? I didn't think it was that bad, the yeam, Smith in particular, was pathetic, and the fans were sick of it. Yes, it's okay to boo your own team, but that, I believe is on a personal level. I probably wouldn't do it, but it doesn't bother me, when it does happen. I understand.
