  • Title should read :Mom jailed for stealing. If she wanted her kids to go to that school district then she should have moved to and paid taxes in that system.

  • You have to know all the facts in this one! She lied, she told the school that she was at war over seas, like it meant nothing. There are just some things you don't do if you don't want to be a scumbag and that is an automatic bid to the lowest!

  • Oh, I see. While it's true she broke the law, authorities were called because her family had a bit more melanin than the other families (who also broke the law). Because, of course, all black people will eventually commit crimes anyway. It was a matter of public service. Friggin' bogus. And I think it's hilarious that the creators of the animation understood that. Look at the differences of each family.

  • @fridaysindetroit This is not a race case. Get over it. This happens to families of all races. The law applies to everyone.

  • @soadfreak313 You obviously didn't watch the video. The judge said prosecutors wanted to make "an example" of this woman. While it's true other families, of all races, have been caught doing this, when was the last you saw someone punished this severely? I'll wait for your response. Oh, and PS, get over YOURself.

  • @fridaysindetroit I watched the video -- YOU have not watched updates to this case. You know WHY she wasn't allowed to send her kids there? Because she didn't pay the tax dollars used to fund the school, like all the other parents sending their kids there. SHE WAS OFFERED SEVERAL ALTERNATIVES, but she gave them the finger, so it HAD to come down to this.

You people need to understand funding before you can judge the school district or the court rulings. THAT is what you need to get over.

  • @soadfreak313 I'll admit that I didn't know all of the facts, so I did some research. In 2008, Williams-Bolar's father tried to file grandparent authorization/power-of-attorney over her children. The US Education Depart. sent letters to the school district and her attorney about this issue. Only Williams-Bolar's lawyer complied/replied. At that time, the US Ed Depart. also considered the "matter closed." Since 2005, there were other families that were caught, including 29 black families.

  • @soadfreak313 Those families didn't receive felony charges because they either paid the money back or made arrangements for their children to attend the school legally. I didn't find any info about "alternatives" given to Williams-Bolar. Considering she tried to give her father P-O-A, I'd say she did try to make her children's education legal. I'd like to know what happened with the P-O-A issue. Also, "You people"? Hmmm...

  • wow, you jail people for wanting better education for their kids? Then I looked and saw that it was Ohio and I was like Oh.

  • @rapisdeadly. Get rid of black people? Hmmmm. Sounds crazzzzy. A little hitlerish even

  • this is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. This should absolutely be petitioned against. Trying to get better education for your children should not end up in a criminal offense especially when you're not just sitting around. This mother was honestly trying to do everything for her children and herself.

  • The truth. She had 3 choices, 1) plead guilty to a reduced charge, no jail time, and pay a fine (as did 40 other families) 2) move to the school district within a certain amount of time to receive a free education for her children. 3) pay back the money owed the school district. She took it to trial by a jury of her peers. Oh yeah, the school district she lived in (Akron) spends 43% more on each student for education than the one (Copley/Fairlawn) she was illegally sending her kids to.

  • They spent all this money for nothing. All those criminals robbing people and they have bother a mother trying to raise her kids

  • @sgreen4 Umm. No. Please read up on the truth. They offered her ways out, but the money they spend investigating doesn't even COMPARE to the money the school lost when Williams-Bolar STOLE $30k FROM THEM. There were dozens of other families that were caught too, but only one refused: she did. She had quiet/cheap resolutions at first, but she refused, so this is why she ended up here.

This is a simple story: she cheated, lied, and stole and got caught. THE END!

  • and this is why i am glad i don't live in the USA!

  • People buy more expensive houses so their kids can go to a school w/o all the troublemakers. They buy up to get away from the riffraff and pay more taxes by doing this.

This mother was trying to get the benefits w/o paying the taxes. So yes, she broke the law. If ALL the poor mothers sent their kids to the "better" school...then the "better" school wouldn't be better anymore. It would have all the riffraff that are in the troubled schools.

  • @RapIsDeadly

Perhaps part of the problem is that the schools in America are shit.

  • @RapIsDeadly "This mother was trying to get the benefits w/o paying the taxes."

The grandparents pay taxes that go to support the schools in that district. The claim that the family is not paying their share in taxes is therefore incorrect.

  • @nonoctave

No, the grandparents and every other childless couple pay taxes also. That does not mean grandchildren or friends of a childless couple can go to that school. This mother was not living in the house of the grandparents...she had her own household.

Put it this way, the grandparents pay/paid taxes for their OWN kids and to benefit other peoples kids that LIVE IN this district.

  • I was lucky enough to be in decent schools (except maybe Central for that one year which was like being in a can of sardines) but everyone deserves to go to a good school, if the kids were athletes the school would have looked the other way, I'm sure...

  • Wow, I know a lot of people who did that, and it's ridiculous how a school can be extremely bad when you're a city away. Jeez, America, I guess the law enforcement has no guts to take down people who are dealing with illegal drugs and being in gangs. The law enforcement sure likes to deal with things that are LESS dangerous for them.

  • @ChristineTran2

Get rid of black people and you get rid of most of the crime/drug problems in every city across America. Also, the more blacks that are in a high school the worse that school is. This is a fact.

  • @RapIsDeadly

Well, I wouldn't disagree you on that. But guess who's fault is that? The White Americans back then that were racist towards colored people and decided to create freeways as well as establishing streets to keep the blacks in one place. And two gangs were created. They're called Crips and Bloods. I'd sure like to thank those racist people back then. They sure know how to shape our future.

  • @ChristineTran2

You're a fricking dope. Nobody is keeping the blacks down but themselves. Get over it dumbass, it's time blacks take some personal responsibility for their lives. The slavery past is no longer an option for failure.

  • Welcome to america where we want you to be dumb as sh!t, sad but true.........anyone agree?

  • All those in the (D)ictatorship Party, can thank Unions and Teacher Tenure for failing schools!

  • i think i saw the same thing on Simpsons

  • Fucked up.

  • See America? Asians make fun of you too.

  • We need a Voucher System for All, and the 'Tenure' status of ALL Public School Teachers needs to be ended. Teaches most perfom, or hit the door.

The problem with our schools today are many, but most can be directly traced back to the Goverment mandates, and the absurd Union contracts and perks that Politicians have given away at the expense of Our childrens education, and paid for with our tax dollars. Teachers must be held accountable.

  • i don't agree with this because lots of people do this anyways, and plus she just wanted her kids to have a better future. nothing wrong with that.

  • This is just horrible. I don't know what else to say.

  • I really hate to use a race card, but it must be racism. America always give minority ppl the harshest punishment. It is very disappointing to see that kind of incident like that.

  • @TheMasterG05 It is Racest, but not the way you think. It is the Dem's, progressives, and Unions that refuse to allow a Voucher system that would enable any parent to send their child to any school they choose. If you look deeper in the subjest you will see that the Racism is based on Greed from the Unions and their supporters on the Left.

  • Here's a thought - instead of spending all that money on a private detective and a felony conviction for someone who just wanted the best for their kids, why not put that money into improving the schools so parents won't have to do this in the future?

  • meanwhile meth is sweeping the nation.

  • @hoosierhiver exactly, I can see how that can be attractive in a world where you can't sleep because you have no place to live and have to hold down 2 jobs just to pay for debt you didn't run up...

If it were put out by doctors for a disorder, it would be the number one selling pharma! I'm thinking the mental health community may have something called "Not enough energy to live and hold down two jobs syndrome"... I bet they will have that on the books in the next two years as a new disorder.

  • Democrats love teachers, but they hate children.

    .

Hence, they are more than willing to violate the rights of children, depriving them of the education of their choosing, in order to raise the pay of tenured government teachers.

  • @schulwitz Violating the rights of children ? ? ? ? Education of their choosing ? ? ? ? ? Honey, if that's how you were raised, your parents musta been some way hardcore libs.

  • @asdfxcxv

    .

Yeah, children and their parents should have the choice where to go to school. Forcing people to pay taxes and then saying that they have to go to a specific public school with "teachers" who don't know how to teach is wrong.

    .

Denying that school choice programs don't work is like denying evolution at this point. There have been so many studies providing evidence that they work, that choosing to ignore them is about as stupid as believing in talking snakes.

  • @schulwitz dumb comment. W Bush gutted the education system after pledging his "no child left behind" thing.

  • @hoosierhiver

    .

Yeah, Bush sucked too, what's your point?

  • lol its only 10 days

  • Government hard at work again.

  • i smell...RACISM IN THE AIR!!!

  • .......

  • i am ashamed that michigan borders ohio now... smh

  • Hiring private inviestigators? No wonder the school systems are so bankrupt!

All this B.S., just to "set an example."

How about just starting a riot? That usually solves a lot of problems...

  • It's better to have a stupid law and wise officials than it is to have a wise law and stupid officials.

  • America and human rights... lol... not a good combination !

  • So, human right doesn't cover the right to choose a better school

  • Damn America is really fuck up. I feel sorry for ya Americans QQ.

  • Ohio, busy stopping REAL crime. *facepalm*

  • Education system is messed up in the US. Property taxes are the main thing used to pay for schools, so if you live in a poor district you'll have poor schools, that is not equality. And now this woman has a felony, how will she get a job as a teacher, she won't, so this was also a sentence to keep her in poverty the rest of her life.

  • @tybrady64 So true man I live in Howard County and I knew people who did the same thing to go to our Schools here but really we need a big change in this Education system

  • moral fucked

  • What's wrong with a mother wanting the best for her daughters? A white person had to snitched on her! I understand that you have to go to school in the district you live in, but shit, the schools in the hood are shitty as hell, with bad ass kids and fucked up teachers. Glad I went to the same high school as Michelle Obama (which is Whitney Young), which excepts kids living in any neighborhood in Chicago, just as long as you're smart as hell.

  • @xxxWarriorGoddessxxx even if you can't spell "accept"?

  • @HenryBlackhand1 no one cares about spelling you stupid spelnazi stfo gtfo

  • @finnsia They cared about spelling in my school…

  • @xxxWarriorGoddessxxx Michelle Obama smart? lol the only thing you have in common with Michelle is that you are racist.

Riddle me this "WarriorGoddess" - why did Michelle Obama lose her law license a year after getting it?

Answer: She's a typical Chicago crook.

  • When there is an immoral principle in enforcement of law, then the law should be ignored. In this case, the state has created even more state dependent people who will probably use this experience as an example of the hopelessness of the condition of living in any environment where no progress can happen for the good of people.

Arresting her and jailing her is immoral

Residence problems? Rahm Emanuel has come back to the ballot in Chicago AGAIN. Maybe they should arrest Rahm Emanuel instead.

  • @AlterEgoTrip As a follower of law positivism I disagree, the law should be adapted instead.

  • @595o Well then Rahm Emanuel should be made a classic example of.. for not following the law, he's lived less in Chicago than I have (4 years in a row back in the 90's myself) (I live in Stockholm for the last 12 years) He has no right to be on the ballots... and yet for some reason, (money) he's on that flipping ballot, amazing.. yet they want to string up a mother for the crime of choice of school? Its a shame.

I suppose its easier because she doesn't have the money to fight the law back.

  • That's just beyond fucked up. Hard to not be falling behind the rest of the world when your own government punishes you for trying to advance yourself.

  • So the cops would rather jail a single mom who was trying to get best chance for her kids than actually look at why she would do that. WTF!

  • @ImmortalDestructor Former is their duty, latter not.

  • @595o ..but they hardly enforce the laws, and are very selective on who they enforce the laws upon.. that's exactly the problem.. had she been a tax exempt corporate entity within the US, then she could send her children (and call them what ever she wishes) to any school of their choice.. but because she's not, she gets punished for a non-crime.

How much jail time did BP officials or employees get for incompetency? You get what I'm saying..punishment is selective, and arbitrarily enforced.

  • @ImmortalDestructor You guys need to get the REAL facts. This case was reported so terribly, that it left out all the details about how Williams-Bolar WAS OFFERED SEVERAL OTHER ALTERNATIVES FIRST, but refused to cooperate. Many of these alternatives were small fines that would be settled quietly! But she refused. THIS is why the school was forced to bring this lying, cheating, stealing mother to the courts.

You can't reap the benefits of a good school if you're not funding it via taxes!

  • @ImmortalDestructor How about this: it takes FUNDING for a good school to function. She wasn't paying the taxes... so she's not eligible to send her kids there. It's pretty easy to figure this out, guys... she cheated and got caught. And when she was caught, she refused to take MANY alternative routes, so she ended up here, and the media presented it one-sided in the mom's favor. Get a grip!

  • First......of many to comment this video

  • @KillenEMsoftly Actually NMA's videos don't seem to get a whole lot of comments.
