Anyone know where this video is being posted? I only put this up last night and I didn't really post it anywhere, and I look today and it's up to 11,000+ views.
That is just plain sick. I'm surprised that there aren't more videos of this online. There should be. That's much more impressive than most of the goals I see.
i watch hockey and go to games all the time, im a NJ Devils fan and i live in DC so i see the the Alexander Ovechkin on a regular basis. im just sayin from my standpoint it may be a great sacrifice to put your body in the way of the puck, but its stupid.
Ok, fair enough. The idea of jumping in front of a frozen piece of vulcanized rubber is stupid, yeah, but you suck it up and take the chance of hurting yourself. I'd like to see any player from any other sport do something to sacrifice their body for the team.
NFL receivers do that when they leave the ground to make great catches and baseball players jumping into the crowd or running into the wall to make a catch. It happens in other sports too.
Did you really compare jumping to catch something with standing in front of a frozen piece of rubber travelling at 80-90mph? And that is related how? Yeah, you're risking injury, because you could sprain/break an ankle, but I'm sorry, it isn't the same thing.
Look at Anquan Boldin. He had multiple fractures in his face trying to make a catch for his team. Many athletes from different sports sacrifice their body day in and day out.
I remember reading Gretzky's autobiography. After the Oilers lost to the Isles in the finals he said the difference between winning the cup and getting to the finals is the team who fights for those loose pucks, dives into the boards, puts their body at risk makes the difference in puck posession. Those are the teams that win. The following year was the beginning of the Oilers series of Cups.
@NHLfreak87 im guessing Crosby is your fave!

Oh nice. If I had known that, I would have bothered to re-record it so my cell phone didn't ring at the end.

Yeah? Your opinion is worthless.
You obviously don't watch or play hockey, or you wouldn't say something so stupid.
Sacrificing your body for your team.. doesn't get any better than that.

Fair enough, you're right. I rescind my previous statement. Still, I think hockey is more exciting. =p

Something only you would see a hockey player do! So rare to see that kind of passion in any sport.
