So caribbeans do not have the collective struggle that blacks are tied to. Few Caribbeans immigrated to the South where Jim Crow ruled, or lived in the Ghetto of the North with defacto Jim Crow. Many grew up in working class mixed communities, like Colin Powell (Jamacian) Unless they took the the collective Pan African struggle, many have conservative values that they brought from the Caribbean. Misguided yes, Uncle Tom? But Clarence Thomas is another story

I question the intelligence of the American electorate if they buy (frankly, I believe they are/will) this garbage. I am 69 years old and white, and I have seen this happen time and time again. There ARE millions of people in this country who, if Obama walked on water, would say, "well, he didn't feed the masses. Wake up people.

Interesting that you mentioned this guy heritage is from the Caribbean, therefore I cannot classify him as a Uncle Tom, despite my disagreement with his politics.
People from the Caribbean do not have the same baggage that African Americans do because they have a different esteem issues than we do. My wife is from Trinidad and she say that growing up everybody from the Prime Minister to judges look like her. In America, no one in charge look like her.
