But most of it is just bad journalism and entertainment. much prefer this to the studio version, those backing vocals by that squeaky voice do not fit in with the song, and i think the smiths made a mistake letting craig gannon go, he wrote one great song with them but sadly never had a credit "Ask" and i think he beefed up the sound of the band live and made it better. He could've been on Strangeways, and that would've made it better, even though in my opinion it's one of their best anyway
