  • Morrissey...fking elegant

  • @aresishere2

    hes not

  • Amazing song. One of his best

  • why is morissey singing this with scottish accent?

  • i wish moz would look after himself a bit better....hes still one of the most fascinating and beautiful creatures but he really has aged miserably....he's 52 but ellen degeners and STING for gods sakes....they've managed to hold it all together....he'll always own a piece of my brain though :) moz, you legendado... ;) please dont hate on me everybody.

  • johnny marr looking as cool as ever

  • Hi Craig Gannon! Nice Rickenbacker!

  • little fore-shadowing here. morrissey would soon after surround himself with 50's inspired young boys and dump johnny. at the cost of his artistic integrity.

  • when her I-pod started to melt

  • In England, sometimes do you pronounce the R like we do in spanish? You know the rrrr hahaha

  • Did not know Vanilla Ice had a career before Ice-Ice Baby.

  • Is that Craig Gannon? it must suck to be him, trying to play keep up with Marr.

  • This song is a masterpiece. Love the "Bigmouth, la da da daa!" in the chorus.

  • Even when doing a Ben Elton impersonation Marr still manages to look cool as fuck.

  • Sublime!

  • No, no, nooo!! He looks like fuckin vanilla ice on here! Why, why, whyy?!?!?!

  • Yeah its Gannon from Aztec Camera who was in the Smiths from Feb-Nov 1986 as Mike Joyce was having drug problems and was increasingly incapable of rehearsing.

  • @AnnaSofieM you mean ANDY ROURKE had "drug problems"

  • Pelvic thrust 3:32 xD

  • The other guy is Craig Gannon. He was hired as a replacement for Andy Rourke, but took over as rhythm guitarist when Rourke was reinstated. Gannon played on Ask, Panic, the live album Rank and was part of the 86' tour.

  • Which is Marr and who's the other guy?

  • @Commiteee Marr is on the right side, morrissey's the singer, mike joyce plays drums and andy rouke plays bass and is on the left side.. i don't know who's the other one with the guitar

  • I'm gonna be fucking drinking whiskey and this will be the song I will be listening to at the end of the fucking world!

  • Look at Morrissey just killing in his blazer & tie.

  • Much better than those lipsynced TOTP performances

  • Good to hear Vicar in a Tutu live. Really shows just how good a singer Morrissey can be.

  • the best it isssssssssssss

  • Bigmouth strikes again has been my favourite song since i was 8. I'm 18 now and it hasn't changed since then!

  • This is so fucking perfect

  • 2 years later i was born...how i wish i was born in the early 80's

  • I laughed hard with Morrissey at 2:47. He is great when he improvises on stage

  • Johnny Marr is one bad mo-fo..

  • My God, what I'd do to turn back the clock and listen to The Smiths earlier than I did. Bloody Pet Shop Boys and Rick Astley were standard fare back in the day at 13!!

  • My God, what I'd do to turn back the clock and listen to The Smiths earlier than I did. Bloody Pet Shop Boys and Rick Astley were standard fare back in the day at 13!!

  • @TheDobleQ You made my day hahah...

  • @Court917 Absolutely.

  • "Sweetness i was only joking". I delight at these lyrics. Simple, but who else comes up with such genius.

  • I want Morrissey to teach me to dance.

  • suuuch a great song. man.

  • I hope I'm never bludgeoned in my beHAUBXSBSKCJSK

  • @xILambyIx I don't wish to alarm you, but I think you may have just been bludgeoned in your bed.

  • @MadOldPete No, unfortunately it was only a minor stroke, so I'm now a vegetable.

  • @xILambyIx you must be such a burden, I'm sorry for your loss. wait ...

  • @MadOldPete I can only move my eyes, and my big toe on my left foot. I use my toe to press a button to pour liquidized food into my throat when I'm feeling a bit peckish. Apparently I can type full length YouTube comments too.

  • @xILambyIx you have a talented and witty big toe, I'm sure. anyway, send me your address, because I can't bear to see you suffer so, and am a talented and efficient bludgeoner. also, send me your PIN number, as a memento.

  • I hope he doesn't smash every tooth in my head

  • Classic TV moment, The Smiths at their very best! Great days.

  • ahh i wish i could have seen them live :(

  • Who is the second guitarist ?

  • @ihmyaiwtd Craig Gannon

  • I wish he'd stop rolling his 'r's.

  • @leafydog That's the best part about it! D:

  • this tv moment was a classic for all the clued in peoples of the UK , !!

  • I like how Morrissey says Rs like an East European here. and bigmouth hahaha part. He's such a cutie :)

  • any body got any idea of how johnny gets that sound ? pedals?

  • @GuitarSmiths i guess chorus....keep in mind that theres two guys playing right now.....also johhny marr is the greatest guitarist ever, so getting his tone is impossible lol

  • @GuitarSmiths lots of chorus and reverb

  • Who knew God wore jeans and a tie? ; )

  • Ohh Mozz, can't wait to see you next month in Middlesbrough town hall, you get better and better with each passing year, but hell, classics like this bloody awesome track get better and better with age too, (unlike me).

my current favourite mozz lyric, (as they change daily!) is

" Our unsleepable friend gets the message on an ill wind" from the incredible track "Disappointed"

  • Hang on...

    Who's the other guitarist?

  • @TheHairofTime It's Craig Gannon

  • @TheHairofTime Craig Gannon. He was going to be brought in to replace Andy on bass when Andy got lifted for heroin, but Andy came back. Johnny used Gannon on rhythm guitar so he could have more reign playing live. (And doesn't it show here!)

  • 9 people were enjoying this song so much they missed the like button.

  • @svania18 Either that or 9 fools stopped by! ; )

  • Morrissey with his "Office's Friday Outfit"

  • Nice video

  • I love the way he pronounces the letter 'R' .

    "...smash everRRRRy tooth.....bigmouth stRRRRikess again..."

  • I would tattoo morrissey's face on mine, I SWEAR! =)

  • @Ximenex EWWW

  • Don't ever want the 7 ages of Rock and Roll made by Rolling Stone Rag and Dennis Hopper does the narration. Terrible stuff. Smiths do get some nice praise though. But most of it is just bad journalism and entertainment. One of the 7 ages in Art Rock (OK not into it) and Pink Floyd gets so much more time that the Smiths, The Replacements, Neil Young, the Bealtes, Buffalo Springfield, Elvis C etc. - bands that matter so much more...combined.!!!!

  • how did Joan of Arc feel?

  • @JohnPurchaseArt Like Morrissey. ;)

  • @JohnPurchaseArt

    On fire.

  • That solo is fucking insane

  • moz

  • Johnny Marr was the absolutely epitome of cool during those days, Although, i absolutely adore Morrissey, he does come across as a paedophile supply teacher in this video.

  • Don't you wish you'd be in that band?

I'd join them for free and clean the toilets after the gig.

  • It was a day after my birthday!! :D Silly funny...

  • just wanna make love to his voice, is that gay?

  • @slosh77 Erm.. probably yes!

  • he has the voice of...an angel lol

  • My God... look how young he is!!!~

  • Adam I just covered this song the other night. The video is up right now. I was I a smiths coverband and was told that I sound alot like mo'z when I would sing his music. I love the smiths!!!!!! You Rock morrissey -3

  • would not want to even TRY to cover this one!!!

  • is it mar playing the gibson and the other playing the rickenbocker?

  • @neuregel i think you mi ght be right b/c the dude on the rickenbacker doesn't look like johnny

  • @struckanerve88 hehe i love the smiths and seen morrissey in concert a buch of times but to me all his band members look the same. i can never tell who is who cept for steph patrick

  • @struckanerve88 Marr is playing the Gibson Les Paul.

  • @struckanerve88 Thought I'd help you out here-The Rickenbacker guy is an English musician called Craig Gannon. He often played with the Smiths as 2nd guitarist on live performances from 1985 onwards. He also played with the Scottish band Aztec Camera in the early 80's. He now writes tv and film music.

  • Swagger at 0:18

  • Morrissey is the number one lyricist end of.

  • my god he's beautiful.

  • anyone who thinks all men are created equal haven't heard Johnny Marr's guitar on Bigmouth Strikes Again.

  • @MawisaAnimation HI FROM FRANCE SORRY FOR MY POOR ENGLISH WELL I THINK THATS CRAIG WHO PLAY HERE ON GUITAR THE CREATOR OF THE RIFF OF BIGMOUTH BUT THERE'S NOCHANGE JOHNNY STILL ONE OF THE BEST EVER GUITAR'S PLAYER THE SMITHS FOR EVER :)

  • bigmouth strrrrrrrrrrrrrrrikes again!

  • Now, this is a live performance!! Never heard anyone singing so well on stage!!

  • TE AMO

  • Joan of Arc would now be using an iPod

  • @karolecampesine When Morrissey performs this song live now he changes the lyric to "The flames rose to her Roman nose and her i pod started to melt"

  • i absolutely love this, amazing.

  • VIVA JONNY MARR!!!! VIVA!!!....VIVA!!!!

  • Sweetness I was only joking when I said I'd like to smash every tooth in your head

  • Johnny Marr is such an underrated guitarist

  • @pragmatismnotidealis Not by me, he's not

  • @MIKEDURSTEWITZ Neither by me. But the fact that Marr recieves nill recognition amongst the tribal mainstream for his contributions is seriously depressing and is, perhaps, a sign of the times. Britpop stole his accolade.

  • @pragmatismnotidealis

    LOL. Ya reckon?

  • Man do they know how to preform. You can see the influence of Ian Curtis in Moz's dancing. And gotta love those gurgling r:s.

  • @krono965 Hmm... I think Moz is a lot more... flamboyant than Curtis.

  • @ 19189073

Andy Rourke was always on a cocktail of downers and booze on tour to help him deal with his heroin addiction. That is why he is not moving much.

  • Lyrics are a perfect discription of a sociopath/psychopath. A lot of Morrissey's lyrics are about sociopths/psychopaths. Perhaps the only singer who ever really tackled the issue so well and so strongly.

  • great performance

  • biguglyfucker! i am with you bro!! he is unique! but they were daffodils, not tulips.x

  • Morrissey kinda looks like Robert Pattinson

  • @br00tald00dz

It's the other way around. :3

  • @br00tald00dz Correction, Robert Pattinson kinds looks like Morrissey.

  • THE SMITHS!!!!! ...'nough said.

  • If you like The Smiths you 'get' what life is about. Genius.

  • He had such a heavier english accent back then. Don't you guys hear it?

  • loved what hes wearing

  • Great Mozz....you're fantastic!.....The Smiths.....:D

  • I get mad when he wears too many clothes.

  • what the hell he is so hott

  • 3:32 - 3:36 humphump

  • you either love em or you hate em...with the smiths theres no indifference.

Pesonally as someon born in 1972 and who grew up in the greatest British musical period ever ( mid to late 80's) I LOVE EM.

They where icons of the 80´s, along with spandau ballet etc...they are an irreplaceable part of British musical histiory.

Who else but Morrisey could dance on top of the pops waving a bunch of tulips over his head and get away with it.

    JUST FUCKING AWESOME:

  • lol only Moz can dance like that and still be cool as fuck.

  • @vandal2k6 jajaja is true! Ridiculous but sooo sexy ;)

  • @vandal2k6 he's an 80's idol, that is why. He can do whatever he likes , he made his mark :)

  • <3<3<3

  • Awesome voice and performances.

  • Big troll mouth strikes again..hypocrite crass leeches..isnt online discussion is whats all about? after we are all ants in this universe, its time to make it all end..Salvation is Death

  • guitar heaven !!

  • The best rock band ever, along with the original Alice Cooper group. Strange, that they're using two guitarists, and Johnny Marr ISNT playing a Ric. When Johnny plays a Ric, he's more than enough.

  • superb

  • Here I am at 40 and a lyric springs to mind. "But don't forget the songs that made you cry and the songs which saved your life. Yes, you're older now and you're a clever swine, but they were the only ones who ever stood by you."

    I havent forgotten.

  • @OzChambers ....I feel the same. cheers

  • Dolcezza, dolcezza stavo solo scherzando

Quando ti ho detto che mi piacerebbe rompere ogni dente

    della tua bocca

    Dolcezza, dolcezza stavo solo scherzando

Quando ti ho detto che dovresti essere pestato

    nel tuo letto

E adesso so come si è sentita Giovanna d'Arco

Adesso so come si è sentita Giovanna d'Arco

Quando le fiamme sono salite fino al suo naso Romano

  • Morrisseys dancing! Haha, love that man. <3

  • I love Morrissey's dancing.

  • lol nice hip-thrusts, man.

  • this is great. love him so much! :)

  • Love Bigmouth, but I've seen them play it better; this performance seems relatively phoned in. Same goes for Vicar. Marr looks like he just wanted to go home.

  • @mahabang no hes not

  • @mahabang Hes the of the most iconic singers in the world, your just a sad Youtube troll.

  • @mahabang Nah just genetically buff-looking. His stomach doesn't hang out and he still has a powerful chin. A genetic masterpiece is many ways is Ste' Patrick Morrissey.

  • hmm best band ever!!!!

  • Bigmouth stRRRRikes again! :D

  • I love Morrissey's look in this video. Back in the day whenever the Smiths would release a new 12" I'd get it. They almost always had fantastic b sides that you couldn't get on the albums. It's amazing how much great music they released in such a short amount of time. It still amazes me.

  • this is when english bands were @ their prime!

  • roman noses are ugly he should of chosen some other nose

  • during vicar in a tutu is marr playing a strat?

  • @safebait Yeah it's a Strat. Most likely from 63', his favourite production year of Fender guitars.

  • much prefer this to the studio version, those backing vocals by that squeaky voice do not fit in with the song, and i think the smiths made a mistake letting craig gannon go, he wrote one great song with them but sadly never had a credit "Ask" and i think he beefed up the sound of the band live and made it better. He could've been on Strangeways, and that would've made it better, even though in my opinion it's one of their best anyway

  • love the emphasis he puts on the word "strikes" in the performance. Morrissey doesnt do that on the album.

  • @Thomsonthetube yea, he does the Irish brogue.

  • as the flames rose to her roman nose and her walkman started to melt = GENIUS

  • @mapmakermyles "and her hearing aid started to melt" is great as well...

  • The Smiths Were A Great Band, Shame they broke up. Great Song.

  • Morrissey reminds me of a young Chris Isaacs here.

  • they were at their peak here for sure. makes you wonder what would have happened had they stayed together.

  • @bluemask68 yes - i think Johnny was the most creative when he was in the Smiths.

  • @bluemask68 True, but a wave always crashes my friend

  • i was surprised by how good morrissey's voice sounds, cos often when singers perform live they sound a lot weaker than on their recorded songs, but this performance really impressed me

lol strong voice, considering the dancing, not that i have any objection to it

  • Im rather perplexed by some of these comments. I thought Craig Gannon was great for the Smiths. They certainly sounded a lot better live and these live songs are brilliant.

  • Having Craig Gannon playing gave Johnny Marr a lot more freedom.

  • Comment removed

  • Morrissey bad entry on the start?

    Nice version anyway.

  • @gmansi i'm pretty sure that's the soundman f'ing up.... i noticed too.

  • @kylebrauch Ah, ok, thanks.

  • @gmansi

so ...what. music is not for robots and computers or modern artist that has not any caracter.

  • @petrusaloisius yes, is ok
