Yeah, it was a good try, but my best guess was 220 knots was way too hot for a carrier landing, and slightly off glide path, although i haven't tried a carrier landing. I'm still trying to perfect a runway landing. It's a bitch for sure, because it so closely resembles the real flight charictiristics of the real F-16C. Iv'e been playing this since 5 years now, and i've found that Red Viper is even harder than Allied Force. Keep your 6 clear dude. You'll get it down one day.
@michaelx7677 You've been flying for 5 years and still have trouble landing ? Check out my videos. I've got 2 nighttime carrier landing, a few flameout landing (without engine) and one after a 9:15 125 nautical miles flight.
Lol. I played the Falcon series since I was 4 and in all my life I've only been able to land on a carrier once. Now how 'bout real life? I think I would die.
Maybe because of your 220 knot approach, try 140 you should just see the bottom of the deck over the top of the nose and the HUD should be tracking at the front of the carrier--not the touchdown point.
All that being said, I've had no formal instruction on this so it's just my best guess. But I've only failed one carrier landing and it was my second try.
2. 200 knots is not a bad landing speed if you're on a runway, but it's gonna be a bitch on a carrier. Also, you were still at 250 knots less than 10 seconds before touchdown. I try to keep everything steady during inbound. I line up my approach a couple miles out, keep the speed at 180-200 knots, put the carrier on a 3 degree glide slope and hold the wings level. You seem to be rushing it in this video.
1. Your flight path marker was about 7 degrees below the horizon when you hit the deck. If you do the trig, that means you hit the deck with a vertical speed of about -25 knots. I try keep the FPM at or above 3 degrees below horizon.
roryj123ok, u def. dont have to go slow, in real life, wat if u miss the wire, then u go in the sea, so ya u do go fast

Things I observed:
1. Your flight path marker was about 7 degrees below the horizon when you hit the deck. If you do the trig, that means you hit the deck with a vertical speed of about -25 knots. I try keep the FPM at or above 3 degrees below horizon.
