After replacing two years ago the temperature sensor and changing the software, no problem appeared.

I thanks the VW for the professionality to support very fast the customer, expecially in case of this critical issue.

I am very satisfied of my Passat CC.

DSG software upgrade took place in late 2009, there was a heating up problem with the transmission but all the cars got recalled n software was upgreade for free of charge and its a very noticeable difference in performance of the car...

@fadrezz515 didn't cost anything. the warranty had not expired and volkswagen said it was a common fault in their dsg gearbox. Not that its a bad gearbox or anything but if you are too violent with the throttle too often, then the electronics may mess it up and the gearbox goes to hell...

So I think that there were two problems: the first is the problem on sensor and the second is the software that is not able to interpretate sensor bad signals and out the DSG at neutral.

In any case I have to do my compliments to VW because it demontrates to be a serious and professional car manufacturer: they considered not only the failure of the sensor but they worked also on software to avoid safety problems.

Last week arrived a letter from VW Europe: recall for problem on DSG!

The discovered a problem on software on shift control: the software can not be able in some conditions to interpretate correctly the signals from clutch sensor.

In some cases the software puts the DSG on Neutral!

They raccomanded me to take the car to the service because of safty.

In fact the letter arrived not as a simple letter but as recorded delivery letter!

ok, i have a hard time believing this video. first off the guy could be using the option on the transmission called launch control. if you hold down the brake the engine will freely rev. towards the end of the video, he turns off the hazard lights and you can clearly see that he is sitting in the middle of traffic, at a traffic light.. i know a couple of the DSG trans had a problem known as the flash of death, but this is certainly not the case here.. just someone putting out a bad word for VW!!

VW announced a recall due to this problem (DSG on neutral!). Also on my Passat CC the shift goes neutral due to the sensor and the garage changed it to solve the problem.

This is a very dangerous problem (in fact there is a recall): image if you are passing a car or driving through a cross .....

2) You can see it's in Drive at the start, launch control only works in Sport and manual modes

3) The fact that the gear indicator was flashing indicates that the car has recognised that there is a fault with the transmission

e' un sensore che va in tilt e da questo problema (va in folle) per risolvere QUESTO PROBLEMA basta cambiarlo.. ma se ti fa (come il90% dei DSG) strappi in scalata.. ritardi in "partenze veloci da fermo" o seghettamenti in retromarcia..

in quel caso e' la meccatronica.. (in america stanno facendo una campagna di richiamo assurda)

la mia GTI DSG anche strappa e non riescono a risolvermi il prob, la cambio per un a3 6 marce manuale al piu' presto (non mi fido piu)

Come puoi leggere sotto il richiamo riguarda appunto il sensore e non la meccatronica.

Ciao Freda1966 per ora la macchina va bene me l hanno consegnata il 19 agosto, rispondo alla tua domanda di come mai non cambiano per prima il pezzo meno costoso, il semplice motivo è che le concessionarie sono di privati e ci guadagnano oltre alla manodopera anke sul costo dei ricambi quindi loro sostituiscono il pezzo a spese loro per poi farsi rendere i soldi dalla VW italia con fermo macchina e tutto... cmq stà di fatto che mi hanno lasciato a piedi 16 giorni

Che delusione questo cambio!! ritengo assurdo che la Vw si comporti in questo modo, rispondendo in maniera scortese. Anni fa era il top come assistenza....Sembra che non ci tengano alla soddisfazione del cliente e per loro sia un peso eseguire la riparazione. Che una vettura possa avere problemi ci stà, che il problema possa essere difficile pure ... ma la prima volta....

Può darsi che il tuo caso sia diverso ... ma dubito.... Quello che non capisco è la strategia: se fossi io cambierei per primo il componente meno costoso e più semplice da installare, visto che oramai c'è una certa casistica di questo problema, specialmente quando il pezzo più costoso non l'hai in stock ed il cliente deve aspettare settimane.

Io non ho potuto fare nulla ed ho dovuto aspettare.

Ma nel tuo caso se il problema si ripresenta farei leva sul fatto che la questione del sensore era già nota in Italia da tempo (a me è successo a gennaio) e l'assistenza Itala ne era a conoscenza, quindi è stata una loro decisione quella di fermare la macchina, pur con uno storico del caso: mi domando se non abbiano un problema di comunicazione interna.

Controlla prima sulla fattura quali componenti ti hanno cambiato.

In ogni caso le VW sono ottime vetture e questo cambio è eccezionale: ma come dico sempre le aziende sono fatte soprattutto da persone!

ciao mi hanno camviato la centralina meccatronica come la chiamano loro, ho parlato al concessionario del sensore di cui parlavi e mi ha risp che se dalla vw gli hanno detto di cambiare la meccatronica quello cambiano (in maniera abbastanza scortese) ora staremo a vedere un pò so solo che se ricapita non la passano liscia mi hanno lasciato 19 giorni senza makkina.

Ciao ragazzi ho una golf con dsg e mi ha dato gli stessi problemi du freda1966, la makkina è ancora in concessionaria dal 3 agosto e stanno aspettando la centralina della meccatronica.. cmq ragazzi assistenza davvero pessima vw, che poi io per problemi fisici non posso nemmeno usare una macchina normale e mi trovo da 3 a piedi senza nessuna possibilità di spostarmi... a quanto mi hanno detto ci sarà ancora da aspettare il pezzo........

Se hai il mio stesso problema, come ho già scritto, non lo risolvi con il cambio della centralina meccatronica. Devi farti cambiare il sensore delle frizioni.

Il problema era veramente banale, soltanto che probabilmente non era mai capitato e quindi c'è voluto un pò di tempo.

Il cambio è eccezionale, infatti tutte le case stanno andando verso questa soluzione per i cambi robotizzati.

Io te lo consiglio ma metti i comandi al volante, altrimenti non lo potrai veramente sfruttare come un cambio meccanico, che in fondo è il preggio di questi cambi a doppia frizione.

Su VW vai tranquillo: è la casa che ha più esperienza su questa tecnologia

I had this at 6,500 miles, DSG cut out with gear flashing on display. VW assist couldn't diagnose with computers but went to dealer and had "thermometer in auto box" replaced and haven't had any problems since. 8 week old car!

E' incredibile! Verona il problema lo conosce bene!!!!! Come ha scritto sopra mosquiton001, il problema è il sensore delle frizioni. Dopo 4 settimane di fermo vettura a febbraio ed un'altra settimana a marzo, con l'intervento di VW Germania finalmente è venuta fuori la causa: cioè il sensore.

Mi hanno cambiato questo sensore ed il problema è scomparso. Ricordagli a quelli di Verona della PASSAT CC di quel rompiscatole di Terni e vedrai che gli tornerà in mente la soluzione.

Anche la mia passat variant 2.0 common rail ha lo stesso problema. E' ferma da due settimane in offcina ma nulla... Non sanno ancora cosa fare. sono in contatto con la Vw di Verona, ma il tempo passa e sono obbiettivamente molto deluso.

un ragazzo che lavora in un'officina dove fanno anche VW spesso mi ha detto che il problema dell'auto che va in "folle" da sola (e lampeggia) e' dovuto ad un sensore difettoso che fa falso contatto non alla meccatronica..

prova a cambiare officina autorizzata per sentire un parere differente..

Si, infatti è così. Oggi mi hanno cambiato il sensore difettoso e ho ripreso la vettura.

A questo punto, visto quanto mi hai detto, sono tranquillo che il problema è risolto.

solitamente i problemi di "cambiata" sono o sensori.. o volani bimassa difettosi (quando ci sono rumorini o scalate troppo "brutali").. in pochissimi casi e' colpa della meccatronica (che spesso invece per ignoranza le officine cambiano)

cmq in linea di massima il DSG resta un'ottimo cambio con buona affidabilita'.. e la passat e' un'ottima auto..

Aggiornamento: oggi i tecnici tedeschi della VW, dopo aver analizzato i dati della centralina inviati in Germania, hanno detto di cambiare sensore di temperatura e pressione delle frizioni.

Speriamo che stavolta sia quella giusta!
