  • Paraphrasing Orwell's 1984 FTW.

  • Ironically, the smilie face at the end of Mein Kempf made me laugh.

  • I love the 1984 reference

  • /watch?v=YkCB5UnzR3U

  • No, it really is advisable to use comic sans in presentations. People with dyslexics apparently find it easier to read with the rounded 'a'. If other fonts were available they'd be used instead.

  • A clown shoe stamping on a human face forever, in room L0L

    :D

  • COMIC SAAAAANS!!!!

  • The official font at my Primary School was comic sans. I absolutely hated it!

  • Gaah, comic sans! *throws up*

  • Is it just me or does David remind anyone else of Rowan Atkinson in this?

  • @songstress42 Totally!! From Blackadder II, right?

  • I use Calibri or Verdana.

  • like trying to lighten up mein kampf by putting a smiley face on the end - hahahah priceless

  • Monkey wanking: /watch?v=fjluFbPZ0xc

  • Oh, hello Will from the Inbetweeners, what are you doing here with Robert Webb?

  • 1984 'Clown's Shoe stamping' ... outstanding.

  • Loving the Orwell reference ;)

  • Makes note to search for monkeys wanking.

  • i love how david says "youtube"

  • err, is it just me or do fonts not really make a difference?

  • @ScrumpyJack1234 It's just you :(

I know it seems strange, but it's true. I work as a graphic designer, you'd be shocked at how seriously people take font design. It's the meaning of life for most clients.

  • We got detention if we used comic sans on school essays...

  • Fucking hell they picked up on the idea that Comic Sans is used by dicks a bit late on! That was years ago that people talked about that reputation. Mitchell and Webb's going downhill

  • David might need to resort back to that hairdo....His current cut looks like a terrible combover

  • lol the comment about a boot stamping on the face is an orwell quote

  • @AussiePolitics Yes! Someone else who recognises a quote from 1984.

  • I am so in love with them.

  • I loathe the idiots that have coffee mugs that say, "You don't have to be mad to work here, but it helps" because we all know that the only mad thing about said mugs owner is that they're maddeningly neurotic. They're the one's that organise the "get well soon" cards and listen to annoying breakfast radio.

  • Love that wig!

  • I'm honestly more horrified by Papyrus--faux-fancy bothers me more than faux-humorous.

  • Look a monkey wanking

    /watch?v=eLACIfq6duE

  • 1984 reference!

  • Only David Mitchell could have such a strong opinion about a font.

  • @ELuhn

It wouldn't be so funny if that were the case. He appeals to us, the sub-species of font-fetishists.... and we mindlessly adore him for it.

  • it's like trying to lighten up 'mein kampf' by putting a smiley at the end

  • @JWRLJR that made me LOL

  • They are wearing matching shirts.

  • I think wanking monkeys are rather funny.

  • I don't dislike Comic Sans, but I outgrew it after Primary school. My favourite fonts are Tahoma and Calibri. There's something so simple and straightforward about them.

  • LOL.

  • @Nexius8 no no no, don't ruin the message you're trying to tell - "it marks the user out as someone to be avoided" (from a BBC article about Comic Sans but damn YouTube won't let me link to it - Google "Whats so wrong with Comic Sans and click the BBC link)

  • @antneyb Eh. Im not going to pic a font because other people do or do not like it. Or its fashinoable or not.

  • @Nexius8 Well then you're a moron. Saying this implies that you don't care what people think of you but you do or, if you don't, then you should. Do I mean you should change your personality, your very self, to fit in with the conceptions of others? No. Should you change the style of clothes you wear, at personal expense? No, not necessarily. But changing the font you use is something you can do simply and easily that will mean people don't think you're an asshole.

  • @TheSobek Judging by your comment. I know which one of us is more of an arsehole. After all if its about social nicetys then randomly insulting strangers is far worse than picking an unpopular font.

  • @Nexius8 Social niceties rather go out the window on the internet though, don't they? You have no bearing on my life and, if ever I were to meet you, you would not know me nor I you. If I thought you were an asshole I wouldn't say so to your face. I didn't actually say you were an asshole, mind, just that you were stupid for thinking that you don't care what people think of you. If you really didn't I doubt you'd have a job.

  • @antneyb

It's just a font. It comes down to an entirely arbitrary aesthetic preference.

You know what, I rather like comic sans, at least it isn't all pretensions and turgid like "helvetica". It's popular, that's justification enough, isn't it?

Comic sans, a nice simple, legible typeface, undeservedly eschewed by snobby graphic design nerds futile-y gratifying themselves with their fussy tastes in the utterly trivial.

    OH IT MAKES ME MAAAAAD!

  • @Nexius8 Seriously never use comic sans ever; just google how immature and irritating the majority see it. (I'm willing to bet BanComicSans will come up before the wiki entry on "comic sans" if you google it, a website devoted to the death of the most unprofessional font known to man).

  • @Truthiness231 I've never been one to give a shit about what the majority likes or thinks of me. If you feel your life should be spent on the destruction of a FONT the good luck to you.

  • @Nexius8 <-- Anti-Joke Chicken

  • I like David's hair in this, he should have it like that more often. :)

    Kayleigh

  • Poor Comic Sans, it's hated by everyone :( It was the shit when I was 10 years old and playing around with Power Point.

  • Is it just me or are they both wearing the same shirt?

  • LOL

  • The similarity of their shirts pleases me.

  • i'd have everything in copperplate, on parchment wearing a bowtie!

  • Comic Sans MS is not the worst font. it is far superia to Arial.

  • @celestialsalamander No. it really isn't.

Also, it's spelled superior. That isn't a criticism, just a correction.

  • Mein Kampf with a smiley at the end!! :D

  • It was quite interesting just pausing the video at 0:52 and reading the schedule,I'm guessing it's real as they've blurred a load of info out.

  • @HarrisJamesBen If you pay careful attention to what is actually written and what they blurred out I'm guessing otherwise. Why does it have the weather on it?

  • @henrywiltcher Not necessarily. If they were doing any shoots outside they would need the weather. Additionally, if someone was traveling in for the shoot that day, I could see cause for the weather being included. What I want to know is why "Sarah Hodland will be festooned with breadcrumbs".

  • Everything David says in this sketch is so true.

  • "Sending around unfunny youtube clips of monkeys wanking". Lol.

  • "The most hideous typeface know to man"

    True.

  • @595o Very, very true.

  • 1984 reference!

  • @matthemod Hell yeah-One of the greatest books ever written!

    A clowns shoe!

  • is it me or does david look like he's dressed as james may

  • @rosemitchell100 That or Bill Bailey.

  • @rosemitchell100 exactly! wish I could see that sketch

  • @rosemitchell100 or Chris Addison

  • Nobody does the irritated rant better than David Mitchell!
