  • @alberab94 whats stopping you?

  • I kept seeing that Heineken commercial and now have to watch this another 100 times.

  • "Aaj Ki Yeh Shaam Javan, Yun Na Chali Jaaye, Phir Se Na Aayegi Yeh Kisi Ke Bulaaye" (This wonderful evening, may not pass unavailed, It will not return on anyone’s call) "Bolo Yeh Na Bolo Tum, Hogaye Ishaare, Seedhi Seedhi Chot Huyi Dil Pe Humaare.." (Whether you say or not, signals have been passed, injury has happenned right on my heart) "Chup Chup Dekha Dekhi, Nazaren Diwani, Zara Si Yeh Baat Ban Jaaye Na Kahani.." (hidden glances, passionate looks, May this small thing not become a story)
  • "Jaan Pehechan Ho, Jeena Aasaan Ho,

Dil Ko Churane Walon, Aankh Na Churao,

    Naam To Batao.. "

(If there are acquaintances, living becomes easy.

    heart-stealers, don’t avoid eye contact.

    at least tell your name.)

  • @nataliapereyrair

  • 5:14 a Dolphin! So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish :D

  • Dr. Éphrem endorses this message.

  • There's a Heieneken commercial that uses this audio, but they turned them all into east Asians when they reshot the video wtf?

  • @bricitybrac Thumbs down if your here because you think the Heineken commercial sucks

  • @bricitybrac the singer wasn't asian

  • That is a WHOLE lot of shakin towards the end.

  • When I play this song, other people are like WTF?? I love it!!

  • I love Jaan Pehechaan Ho! It's the best song and dance ever! I love Ghost World sooo much! The movie, the comicbook , the whole feeling. -It is like my life <3 Enid Coleslaw is my God. Like in "Oh My Enid I love this!" bolojemabolotom... aaaaah! huh huh huh Jaan Pehe... Hoooohhh!

  • does anyone know what style of music this is? not the bollywood style so much as just the music? i know quentin tarantino uses it alot in his movies.

  • @TheNOSTALGICDECAY

Hey! If like this style you should check out "Los Straightjackets" very cool guitar instrumental group that puts me in the same frame of mind that this track does, you might dig it. They do a few numbers with "The Pontani Sisters" and "Kaiser George" that I think KICK ASS! If you don't dig it, sorry. Check out "Twist & Grind"

  • Thumbs up if you come here because Heineken comercial

  • Thumbs up if you're here because of Ghost World.

  • I love this so much I want to hyg it and buy it pretty things!

  • I also located this translation of the initial verse: Jaan pehchaan ho, jeena aasaan ho. Dil ko churane walon, aankh na churao— naam to batao. If I knew you, living would be easy. All you heart-stealers, don’t hide your eyes too— at least tell me your name.
  • Lyrics please anybody... I love this song.

  • enid was a hot ass////////////!

  • Indian are perfect dancers

  • lustig lustig

  • why does this remind me of Clan of the Cave Bear?

  • it goes without saying that this scene is awesome but what movie is this? subtitles or no i think NEED to own it!

  • the song that spawned 1,000,000 hipsters overnight.

  • The female dancer reminds me of the way Patty Duke danced in her show in the 1960's. I also noticed a couple of European women dancing in the group. And what can I say about the singer (I believe he is not the actual singer), he is like a mixture of Bo Diddly, Sammy Davis Jr , Chuck Berry and Elvis I love this classic Bollywood stuff.

  • Brilliant song!! In it's time an excellent movie with a great storyline.

  • Omg, this was totally in Ghost World. I love that movie and I love this song and I love this video.

  • girl in the gold dress

    thatts whassssup

  • My wife HATES this song, but I love it...I first seen it in Ghost World, like most of us did I think...Anyway, we play music videos on YouTube all the time and when we don't know what to play nest and my wife can't think of anything to play I play this and she gets so pissed. LOL...Anytime someone comes over to hang out I play this video just to see hoe they react...Sometimes its pretty damn funny...I get wtf is that alot. Jaan Pehechaan Ho

  • @darkworldinc lmao dude you sound like a pretty cool guy! i'd totally hang out with ya. the thing is, of course ghost world brought me to this but i just brought it up in casual conversation with my fiance and said man i really liked how they danced in the opening sequence of ghost world (we like the same stuff) and she told me exactly who sang it. she hates sitting at the computer though so.... can't win 'em all huh stud?

  • if it weren't for "Here We Go Magic" remix I could not have known of this clip! I love it so!

  • I wore out the VHS tape of Ghost World watching this clip back in the day:)

  • esa laca aguanta asta un bombardeo nuclear!

  • Classy!

  • She shakes her head like a retard anymore and her face will fall off

  • lol the drums say ted lyons and his cubs

  • @tech3828 Ted Lyons and His Cubs was a real band. Ted (Terence) Lyons is the drummer.

  • God I love this!!!!

  • I love the Masks!!!

  • best song/video on the internet.

  • WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN BUFFALAXED YET?

  • I was just standing like a fool thinking: ".......,,,,,,,, O0..........,,,,,,,,"

But then he began singing and I was all like "UUOOGOH UUUOGOOH!!!!"

    haha I love random things <3 :D

  • FREAKIN COOL

  • i want her gold dress :) I'd wear that shit like every other day lol.

  • @xXShrinkWrapXx I hope you ain't a man saying that!!

  • ja,ja,ja,ja

  • The singer is Mohammad Rafi, but the guy in the white suit lip syncing is Herman Benjamin. He is actually the choreographer who made up those crazy dance moves! His next project was a great song called Aaja Aaja Mein Hoon Pyar Tera which is full of more wild head shaking, dancing, and general rocking out. I just uploaded the only HD version of it on YT. Jaan Pehechaan Ho is definitely the greatest, but Aaja Aaja is still pretty darn cool.

  • GENIUS! I love this music! I loove Ghost World! <3

  • GENIUS! I love this music! I looove Ghost World! <3

  • awesome rafi sahab !!!

  • I like the move he makes ar 2:20 - 2:25. Great song , thanks for posting !

  • LOL! I love this song too. M. Rafi is classic Bollywood.

  • I love this song. Que energia!

  • Nothing says you're outside the social middle-class norms like saturating yourself in obscure Bollywood dance sequences. We are so hip for liking this.

  • How many times do you think that chick hurled from shaking her head so much?

  • JOHN: "You never paid me for the tape of that Indian dance routine."

    ENID: "Yes, I did."

JOHN: "You Jews are so clever with money."

ENID: "Fuck you! Stupid redneck hick."

One of the greatest movies ever.

  • Мясистые бабёнки :)

  • Love the masks!

  • This is a brain HEROIN!!! I wants some more!!

  • I think this is coming out on Rock Band...

  • If it's coming out on Rock Band, then I'll def have to buy it! I'm addicted to this song!

  • when i watch this baked, i wiggle everything just like them without realising it until later. i love this song.

  • Rafi sahab is Greatest ever ! Heartly salute to him..

  • god, look at the asses on some of these women. nice.

  • '-______________________-

  • KAI DE SE XALASE

  • Love those closeups at the end

  • I don't care if my neighbours are like "What the heck does she have cranked over there?" I love this song...it's so rich and full and energetic!!! I don't care that I don't understand the language. Somehow, over time, one finds themself singing along, albeit phoenetically! :)

Fantastic clip, fantastic dancers, fantastic song, fantastic band...and....of course, from a fantastic movie soundtrack as well! (Long live us diehard fans of Ghost World!!!)

  • @jenzeppelin if you like this see some of helen's work

  • @itsrobertponder Perhaps I am just in need of a cup of coffee...but, Helen who? I'm racking my brain for singing/dancing/performing Helens...and coming up empty. ;) :)

  • @jenzeppelin look up helen bollywood and a bunch of her stuff well show up she's worth it very funky very classy very cool!

  • @itsrobertponder Awesome! Thanks for pointing me her way! :) :)

  • @jenzeppelin The dancer in the song is Laxmi Chhaya. Helen, cabaret dancer was in this movie as well, but not the dancer in this song. I think that is what the person was alluding to....incorrectly. :)

  • Comment removed

  • @jenzeppelin yahaha I totally agree with you! I couldnt have said it any better than you put it. Thanks Basebase5 for posting XD

  • @jenzeppelin AMEN Sister!!! I feel the same way. Your comment made me laugh, nice to know I'm not the only one. I always know when my husband is home , he turns it down.

  • Does anyone know where to get a translation of this? -- if I were single I would ask one of the hot Indian guys at the gas station across the street. God he is HOT!!!

  • Lmao that's sooooo cute!!!

  • I found a bunch of translations and good notes on a blog called grabbingsand - Youtube won't let me link to it but go to Google and search for grabbingsand "jaan pehechaan ho" and i think you'll find it.

  • Touche' ooeeygooey, and very true.

  • She looks like she's having sooo much fun!

  • This IS a dancing A go go! I am finding this a most a groovy a feeling so.

  • i LOVE the way she dance!!

  • It kinda reminds me of a Tarantino movie.

  • oh my god i never thought of that, but u are 100% right, this could be strsight out of kill bill, maybe this was an influence to him?

  • Have you seen kill bill?

  • i will agree that Tarantino films have the same feel as this clip, though that's because he is hugely influenced by pulp/modern cinema, which was at it's prime around the time this was filmed.

  • Well considering this is 40 years before Tarantino, his films would remind you of this.

  • @Irishfreedom This is Tarantino's speciality: Re-create Bollywood to Hollywood

  • Proof that the rest of the world isn't as backwards as everyone here assumes...I mean how much more 60's can this be and everyone thought all Indian people lived in huts back then....assholes.

  • People ARE still living in huts (or more like slums) in the backstreets of Mumbai/Bombai (where this was probably produced) TODAY

  • The point made by chandru1103 is that not ALL of them do.

  • Thank you for posting this, thank you sooo much!!!

  • Having watched this video religiously (it really deserves that level of commitment), I've noticed a few weird things. E.g., when the girl stops to toss her blindfold, it seems to zing off into space. Yet in the next scene, a second later, it's practically under her foot. The guy's blindfold is equally mysterious. At 4:26 he is blindfold-less, yet at 5:00 it's back on. Or are my eyes just fried?

  • You are right! I, too, am obsessed with this video. I've posted it on Facebook a few times.

  • i think it hits one of the guys that comes into the view of the screen lol. at least that's what it seems like to me.

  • I think the womens blindfold is kicked back into the scene by the dancers from the left. They slide in and I think the slid it back into the frame. Yeh I can't see why they took the mans blindfold from the one shot other than poor editting, but its all in good fun.

  • @hulapopper2008,

Say this in a Jamaican accent - "Details ..... Minor details"

    Peace

  • Love it :-D Bollywood Swingin'!!!!!

  • Petty sure all of Bollywood is on meth.

  • I've watched this many time and only just realised that the dancer in the gold dress looks very much like Audrey Hepburn :O

    xxxxxx

  • Not even.

  • 1:48 - 2:02 makes me soil myself a little.

  • SEVERE

  • First saw this on a video put out by WFMU (this is a better print). GHOST WORLD notwithstanding--thought then and still think now, this is the greatest music video ever made. Oingo Boingo yeah, but nobody mentioned DEVO! Pity the rest of the movie (the orig. 1965 film, not GHOST WORLD) didn't measure up. Then again, what COULD??

  • id give you 89234823 thumbs up if i could, man.

  • Thanks!

  • This routine is an absolute gem - catchy tune, energetic dance routine, and joyous. I'm glad I watched it.

  • You're never really the same after watching this video....

  • This is the world that I want to live in.

  • i think i might join you

  • @Zamblee Me too!!!

  • @Zamblee Hahaha.....awesome!

  • The lead female is so incredibly charismatic! I just can't over how ... groovy the whole number is!

  • Does anyone know what the title is

    in English?

  • I cant get this out of my head. It makes me smile every time i see it.

  • YEAH!

  • Oh man! Thank you for posting; Knew this from Ghostworld but the whole thing is even better!!!!
