First of all, thank you for playin LBoogie rather than talking thru the whole video. People talk so much thru their tutorials.. this was refreshing. Second, love the hair styles, question, what hair did you use from the sengalese twist?
@Blizams I believe the hair she used was 100% kanekalon braid hair. I would upload a video further explaining the ends but my laptop is broken. WorldofBraiding has a video named "Tutorial: Creating Natural finish for Kanekalon /Feather tips" that's pretty much the same thing I do. Also, if youre looking for a good tut Uniqueleemade has one named "Tutorial☞ Learn to do Senegalese/Individual Twists!!!" & she does the same to her ends. Hope that helps :)!
thanks! I am about to get braids and am trying to decide which kind I like. These senegalese ones are great. Might try those ones. I am happy to know some styling techniques. i thought I would have to put up with a sore head for a few days from the pulling, but I just ask my braider to NOT pull?? Nice bit of advice, thanks again.
@crystalinthemirror i dont remember asking specifically, but if i did i probably just asked her pretty plainly not to braid them too tightly. i probably just lucked out on a good braider cuz she was such a doll. Just STRESS to your briader how important it is for them to not be tight. You can make something up and say you have weak edges or youre really tenderheaded there... idk, wish i could help more though
@bingbean07 it was just regular kanelkalon braiding hair. the braider pulled the ends of the hair to stretch it before using it so that it tapered and gave the effect that you see. and yeah, im glad she did that too cuz i didn't want no jacked up ends lol
@Dreamscheme100 they were 2 months or so, old by this vid. mine were stiff as well, i could only pull em half up half down at first, but that stiffness should start fading by now
thank you, thank you and thank you (hugs and kisses, thank you, lol)...i am transitioning from relaxer hair to natural and today got senegalese twists done. they were done a bit long for my tastes and i just did not know what to do with them and/or whether or not i was going to return to the salon and have them shortened (i do not like hair hangin' in my face, at all). but, after watching your video, i have been inspired; the styles appear to be simple in technique and are soft and feminine.
Love this vid and song I'm finally getting senegalese twist and needed to know that i didnt just have two options of up or down....thanks for the ideas
i must say....this is so weird....u look exactly like me. i was looking at the vid all the way through and i was .....OMG...and i just put in my senegalese twists too. i know this is random...but i had to let you know. even my friends were like...damn. lol
@xxbOOkiexbuttx not too long, maybe 1- 1 1/2 hrs or so if i remember correctly, but i also got my homegirl to help me take some of em out. once you clip the ends they unravel pretty easily.
LOVEyour hair! But have a few Questions: Do you know the brand of gel/or product they used in your hair (assuming your natural) to keep your natural hair from coming out? How long did these last you?and how long did it take to complete? I just did these on my sister for the first time after seeing your vid!!!
@mokoroc i'm actually not natural, well, not yet anyway lol, but i'm sorry, i don't know what kind of gel they used. I kept them in for 10 weeks. It took one braider about 7 hrs to do them, with a break included in that time. I hope that helps and i hope your sister enjoys her twists :)!
Thnx for posting the video n even better, playing one of my jams of my fave album by lauryn hill by far! Be blessed! :)

no8thletter 1 year ago
@vablili senegalese twists are usually done using 100% kankelon fibre. It is really cheap and looks great.
