This andy dude is awesome as a teacher, I've got several instructional DVD's from him.

For me he strikes the perfect balance between theory and practice.

Also he shows them little nifty techniques that make the songs special.

personally, i don't understand buying an 'aged' guitar. they look awesome, but the best thing is getting something brand new and watching it age with your own character. lets you really know it's yours.

@hubes69 I agree. Seems to me as if most things built are getting better not worse. Just let it age by itself. Very good advise. P.S. SRV could have taken a 2011 squire and made it walk and talk.

No, it's a "frankenstein" - i.e parts of other strats put together - a neck here,a body there,a tremolo here etc... -- oh FYI : STAY AWAY FROM ANY "RELIC" strats by Fender -- THEY ARE WAAAY OVER PRICED !!! YOU CAN SAVE close to $1K by getting a 'NASH' strat -- .Bill Nash "ages" them himself & they are actually built better for the money,PLUS he makes the old thick "monster" necks (ala from the 50's era -- highly sought after) NASH GUITARS are the REAL DEAL !!

Not sure what you mean by "shitatstic". As in "it sucks" or " its the shit (good)!"-- you cant buy Nash guitars direct-you have to go thru a dealer.Go to the website.Fender isnt the only guitar maker out there,ya know.And a "strat is a strat is a strat" does not apply anymore,my friend.You have Mexi-Strat,American series,Custom Shop & Squire etc...either way, Fender is typically overpriced for what it is (unless you got a discount) Charvelle make great guitars,Carvin's etc..

Nah, I know.I get pissed cause Fender cuts corners on little shit (weaker pots,shitty frets etc.) They should have never tried to be all things to all people -I guarantee Leo Fender wouldnt have,its CBS.They should have stayed with one,maybe 2 versions of a Strat,& thats it.But it's always about money & expanding markets & products blah,blah..Carvin makes great guitars & amps for unbelievably low prices in comparison to Fender & even Gibson.. of course, a guitar's sound is 75 % from the -.cont.

I have a fender factory strat and a "frankenstein" one built by a local guitar guy. The "franenstein" one is not as well finished but its my favorite with better tone and feel. The factory fender one had frets so soft they seemed to made of chocolate and a flatter tone.
