  • best group in the world

  • there awesome, but there's no chord in the electric fender stratocaster guitar

  • The coolest guy. Ever.

  • class is permanent

  • excellant

  • Muslims dont like this.

  • wow blown away, any of these shadows tracks takes me back to a simple childhood, dreaming of being a guitar hero. used to borrow an acoustic from next door and taught myself to play Apache first up. Foot tapper was a bit difficult for such a rank amateur 13yr old - still love them!

Fender Strats/Tele's - groove on forever!!!!!

  • @ZekRule What year was this?

  • I think the drummer was my linguistics prof.

  • beautiful....

  • How do I download Foot Tapper as my ringtone.

  • to eric123m dont you know they dont need plugging in //spitefull little child thinking

  • Not bad for a bunch of old guys !...lol

  • Great SONG.

  • Who the hell disliked this song?

    IDIOTS!

  • Funny or not, this bloody tune's been dragging behind me all my life :) Not that I especially admire Shadows, just so.

  • THATS THE WAY IT'S DONE, :)

  • proper music!!!

  • Ez a szám is nagyon tuti!!!

  • Ah its not live...

  • Someone needs to let the white haired bloke introducing this that it's the 'Shaddows', NOT the shads.

  • Sounds like Teenager In Love

  • @Mazza4Azza what is teenager in love?

  • @1991piotrek

Teenager in Love - Marty Wilde

  • Saw Cliff & the Shadows at Wembley the year before last. So much better when Cliff goes off for a breather - Hank Marvin is a legend

  • It truly is a foot tapper, you just cant resist :)

Makes me feel happy, what a wonderful song, legendary infact

RIP Jet Harris, important part of The Shadows rise to fame

  • Hank is always so happy! He really love's playing

  • Brian Bennett (drummer), is a respected composer in his own right, mainly for TV.

  • Thumbs up if you were watchin cob's kissing the shadows and arrived here xd

  • Enkelt och bra musik för en ann att lyssna på,det svängen om att,redigt...

  • @Man52Ta - Can't undrstand a single word of what you say in that Scandanavian tongue but mostly reckon I agre with it!

  • @paulkate72 You're right, it's swedish, and it says: "Simple and good music for one to listen to, it has a nice groove to it, big time"

    And I, too, agree ;)

  • @pinkjoey3 - Thanks for the translation here. Yes, pretty good were The Shads. Still, the Swedes have got one back with Abba who were very big our country, Australia. Thanks again!

  • @paulkate72 No problem! Yea, definetly! Some awesome things have come out of Australia too; AC/DC, Wolfmother and many more!

  • @pinkjoey3 Lachlan Higgs :D heh

  • Hank's guitar is so beautiful and this sound... Oh god!!

  • MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY - ESP IN SCOTLAND!!

    ed

    w w w eddy nu

    Beautiful tune!!

  • It's clearly not played live. You can hear the bass but no bass player, not a single mic on the drums and the guitars are not plugged in.

But this is from a TV show and music is often done that way on TV.

  • @bassi82

Have you heard about recording bands ?

And by the way, the electric guitar is plugged if you pay intention...

  • SHADOWS ARE THE BEST !!!

    10 *

  • they still play like they are in early 20's...that's the spirit of Shadows...!

  • Hank Marvin is brilliant

  • It can make everyone foot tapping without fail sure! I love it very much ever!

  • The Shadows were formed from members of several late 1950s UK skiffle groups: The Newcastle-based "Railroaders" (and also The Five Chesternuts on Columbia Records) who supplied Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch, both inspired by USA-pop music; an american Idea. lol, well they inspired the Beatles, and we all the rest from there...

  • @thebluesrockers Thanks for the info. Listening to them play, and watching them enjoy playing well just makes you feel good.

  • Amaizin.. Sound the same as they did fifty years ago. I would like another fifty years please :)

  • Sweet tuning and plugging, mind blowing, and lot more to describe.

  • Pure class, timless

  • One of my favourite Shadows tracks!

  • He's not even plugged in lol

  • how to hide on

  • they dont make music like this any more

  • @bolnesoutlawz people nowadays suck ass

  • @Erick123M they're so crap and annoying , theyve never done anything technically difficult , and even when they mime like they do in this video youd think theyd have the sense to have a bass player or turn down the bass so it isnt so obvious although even if they did , its still quite plain to see that wank hanks guitar is plugged into anything , what a complete load of donkey doos :P

  • @bolnesoutlawz they don't make glasses like that anymore :P

  • @uredsmarrio True...O.O

  • welche Leichtigkeit des Spiels... locker, lustvoll und traumhaft schön

    engelhardi

  • Хэнк Марвин за всю жизнь не взял ни одной лишней ноты!

  • La musique que j'adore

  • BRILLIANT

  • Mon super morceau avec lequel j'ai appris a danser le twist avec le fils du colon

Son papa s'appelait Pierre Léonard, le fils s'appelait Marc, et on a flirté à la MeSA entre 1981 et 1983....Originaires d'Awans

  • This is another best one among the numbers of Shadows I believe! I enjoy it very much! It makes me tapping!

  • point point point point point.. CHEESE.

;] inside joke about this song. LEGENDARY SONG.

  • it aint set up look at 0:07 seconds you can see something in the input in hanks guitar

  • he's not using his 98 Custom Strat, what's he got instead? I have a 98 Japanese Hank Sig Strat, wonder if its that because it has Silver Hardware

  • Where is the invisible bass player?

  • where r d guitar electric cables?

  • @noela48 Well you can actually get wireless for electric guitars but i dont see any equipment fr it on the guitar, although just like top of the pops, they just make the people mimic playing to the song so it sounds like what people are used to. They have had many bassists over the years, and i think their current one is Mark Griffiths and may o been unavailable etc. But yeh, it's shameful that those shows want it to be mimiced, im more pissed at the fact that it's not live and just mimiced tbh.

  • its an abuse: the great Shadows as a 3 old men man playing playbach, horrid thought :-((

  • hi any one know the chords for this tune on guitar a reply would be great Thanks

  • Terrible!!!

  • I love the shaddows

Hank is very much a great and underrated guitar player

  • Nice Bass sound But hey where is that Bass? Behind the Camera maybe? Playing along with there own backing track. Why do TV Companies allow this Phoney practice. I mean these guys are Pros and can play any gig. Total Bullshit.

I love the Shad's especially Hank although not my inspiration but their tracks were catchy as well as being the Dogs Bollox.

  • no bass guitar and synchronized movements. I'm in love.

  • I just a few weeks ago saw Cliff and the Shadows and they were just fantastic.

Yes they look and still sound great.

    Fan for ever.

    Kaylene

  • Pity they mimed it. I've seen them live and they don't need to mime anything. The Shadows are super professional!

  • I saw them in Australia Feb 2010 and they were brilliant, as good as ever. They obviously love playing together. If you get a chance, go and see them, you will be amazed how wonderful they are.

  • The constant smiling by Hank Marvin means that he is genuinely contented within and if you had the same fame and fortune you too would be smiling if you were up there on stage.

  • haha i would indeed be smiling!!

  • Wouldn't you smile if you made all the money he has?

  • @gogetstuffed

Oh yeah I certainly would. His Guitars are worth a fortune. Still good luck to the man he made his mark amongst the other trash that was out there at the time. Give me the Shadows anyday!

  • Leader guitar frontman of The Shadows - Hank Marvin (in glasses)

This is original song, but cut.

  • Isn't it a happy tune? This is one of my most fave Shadows videos I've found on here. I've only just come across them, but one clip was enough and I'm hooked for life now:-)

  • YOU CANT FIND ANY GOOD MUSIC TO DAY thanks to the golden oldies. fred yeovil somerset

  • QUE BIEN TOCAN THE SHADOWS

  • That's what I call a well crafted song - BTW: doesn't it sound very much like the end titles song from "Fireball XL-5" (only the oldest kids will remember this english TV show from 1962!)

  • Hey, i'm a 1980 kid and i remember it!

    And it does a bit.

  • I do recall Fireball XL-5 and yes your correct with the comparison.

  • trying to learn it right now, easy to memorize the tabs and pretty easy to play once u know the tabs and melody

  • Does anyone know what a Sarb turbo is? or a whell chair?

  • With Style :-)

  • During their shows in the '70s and '80s, Herman's Hermits used to warm up back stage with this song. A classic!

  • PERFECT.

  • lol i learnin that on guitar at the moment

    its so awesome

  • They wouldn't even pay a guy a few bucks to hold a bass-but man I've always loved the Shadows!

  • The Shadowmen Foot Tapper LIVE version worth watching

  • Nothing worse than having to mime becasue the tv producers just couldnt be arsed to pay to get the PA in. Must annoy the Shads when they get asked to mime for TV as they play so great live.

  • Hank Marvin is so charismatic.

  • what a tune

  • who needs cliff, not me

  • Your'e right :D

  • My dad loves these guys.

  • love the shadows, used to watch them with my dad in our front room, and used to have my room bouncing around above the lounge when trying to go to sleep because he used to have the surround sound up so loud lol. When was this on this morning?

  • so where did the bass player go? old age cause him to leave the band? lol jk awsome video

  • paradise sound!!!!!!!!

  • Shads did this one ok,but prefere the Challengers version.

  • opss. i was born in 81, starts to like them and realize there's another good band besides dire straits.

  • i got homework of this to, on music school tough...

  • ii love this song n i find it really easy to play tbh :/ maybe thats just me though :)

  • most shadows stuff is pretty simple to play. great music

  • But Hank is so, so clean ! - brilliant !!!

  • Music doesn't have to be complicated to be good. If you can play these songs, good for you.

  • wonderful.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • real music real skill. love the shadows.

  • great band, great song, but lose the dance steps boys!

  • LOVE THIS BAND, since i was 6. but i like their dance steps.........its funny ;-)

  • they are fantastics

  • Great guys excellent band and brilliant music

  • this is such a hard song, like apache, to play if u dont use a pick like me

  • i love the shadows, they always look like they enjoy what there doing, like there doing it for the joy of playing not to make money.

  • His strats always have that lovely deep resonant sound

  • One of their GREATEST hits....

    Lee

  • fygolyi8pyi

  • They are great! Love this song!

Cliff is just a religious fascist, and i hate him. The Shadows were much better off without him1!

  • Hank Marvin is a Jehovah's Witness. let's respect each others faiths.

  • i agree (i was reffering to cliff richard himself, not the christian faith.)

  • The ones that condemn are bigger fascist!!!!!!!!??????

  • those were the days when music was music.

  • Hank Marvin and His shadows were the original back up band for CLIFF Richard..

Cliff left them and many people thought that would be the end of the shadows.. a band without any lead singer.. NOT SO..

They were just as BIG in their own right..

    Excellent Music...

    Lee

  • Takes me back to the 60s they were awesome

  • oldie but goody

  • zajebiste xD

  • This is a feel good tune...

  • I don't usually swear but what the fuck is the point of saying that? Difficult and technical doesn't mean the music is any better..........

  • Music isn't about looking cool, it's about good music. You should be a model if you're worried about looking "kool".

  • indeed man, its like if u take away a music video from a song that u like does that make it bad....NO!!! lol

  • Some of the easiest music in the world is the best, look at the Beatles, some of the music was so simple, but yet they made some of the best songs in the world, and they always will be good!

  • sexy foot work

  • great song, gental but powerful feel to the soul

  • it reminds me a lot of the ventures, who have made something like 8,000 albums lol!

  • Shadows made me start playing the guitar along with brian may, what I like about most of the shadows songs is that they are simple to learn, well most of them, great tunes....

  • Yeah I agree completely and what most guitarists don't get now is that it's not about running up and down scales and crankin the distortion. It's creating melody and writing a story on the fretboard.

  • its about the feel, the emotion and the energy.

Not how many notes you can play in five seconds. Thats what i love about this band.

  • you are so right, and they play in passion

  • chill tune... It ownz

  • the shadows are the one's that inspired me to learn to play the guitar.

  • do u listen to techno?

  • and there's no need to change something thats perfect ! :)

  • come on man, dont beat down on the shadows :(, just dont, youre evil :(

  • im sure there was quite a bit of pressure to just play one of their famous songs the way they used to. they werent going to go up there and like play theremins with their feet while playing a backwards version of sleepwalk...

  • in which year was this ?

  • Within the last ten years I should think.
