  • Its unfair to compar Tara Blaise to Julie Covington.....both fantastic artists but a generation apart ...respect to them both

  • MalletKAT for the win.

  • can't believe Rydian is playing Nathaniel in the 2010 tour kind of worrying hopefully he will be good, I really want to go see War Of The Worlds this year.

  • I saw this live when I was 12 and it was the best thing I have ever seen in my life

  • Awewsome! this is my favorite scene !

  • Tara Blaise has such a dirty look ... awesome :)

  • @LStrike6630 I know what you mean, she's feisty but delicate, assertive but vulnerable. Oh plus she's waay cute

  • @Defender78:

    Thats what I meant ;)

  • Got the DVD, it's awesome!!!

Cant wait for January when TWOTW comes to Germany :)

  • I don't know anything more epic than this, war of the worlds is just unreal its so good, anyone who hasn't listened to the entire musical, I highly recommend you buy it asap, you are not human if you can't enjoy this!

  • one of the best musical;s I ever heard~

  • I happened upon Jeff Waynes' vision of War of the Worlds a few days ago. I really like it, but geez, it's all so weird, you know? Especially the stage version, with the screens and the strings and the actors and the lightshow...

  • The two of them work perfectly together....top notch performance

  • the true legends in this musical are chris thompson from manfred mann and justin hayward from the moody blues

  • tara blaise is good but not as good as julie covington....watson does a good job but lynot was exelent..the new preacher is rydian from x-factor...what a dick

  • I aggree Julie Covington is tiny better but... Tara Blaise is Live and Julie Covington is recorded at Studio. That make it different!

  • muy bueno

  • What's with all his falling to his knees about?????? Me and my mate reckon he's had too much red weed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this part!

  • Both are great !!!

  • i dont think the acting is great, dont think they believe what they're saying, phil lynott rocked this part.

  • She is exellent! Phil Lynott is unreplacable

  • 'twas Julie Covington in the original was it not?

  • @parmolona yesit was Julie Covington in the original

  • @Jozz57 And Phil Pynnot

  • @beast66606 Oops - typo !

  • And Phil Lynnot of course !

  • quality.

  • Very GOOODDDDD concert all of it!!!!!!

  • This is probably the best version of this song that I have heard so far. It feels a bit more alive than the version found on the CD/LP.

  • I used to like this song. I changed my mind. Seems somewhat blasphemous.

  • @JeremiahWitte how exactly?

  • Thanks, Chaya, for the video "Mook E Elohim.".it is incredible beautiful....but "Listen" what Nathaniel says here in this video.....and tell me "what kind oh hope..."

  • the beth lady is jolly pretty, I would die happy tomorrow if I could spend today with her.

  • when the demons arrive those alive will envy the dead

  • From the very first time I heard the LP version of the amazing War of the Worlds back in 1978, I always wanted to play the part of Parson Nathaniel. Not sure why, he's not exactly full of hope. Think it''s because it's a good excuse to shout a lot lol.

  • anyone able to confirm whether these are the same actors who were on the original discs? the woman sounds very much like the same singer,i cant be sure though

  • @lyricyst I don't know about the woman, but Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy played the preacher in the original recording

  • I agree, Tara was Amazing-Wasn't sure about Russell but he was very good too.

  • I think, her voice is better than her motions.

  • I don't know why certain people are moaning about the female lead in this scene; she's doing fine.

    .

What you should be worried about is the guy playing lead electric guitar in the latter half of this clip. He is AWFUL! Complete lack of feel, no soul at all. How the hell he got the job I don't know. Really puts a dampener on things.

  • Love it ,mon the Aliens!!!

Fucking invade, get rid of the proddie bastards !!!!

  • Who the hang gave Russell Watson a microphone?LOL..........his voice is so loud and pure he has no need of one..........I know,I've seen him perform live in his own shows so many times that you get used to the volume he can reach without even trying.............a mic that close to his mouth is just asking for trouble lol lol lol lol lol

  • Fantastic version. Tara got a fantastic voice. Also Russel watson did well. He was suffering from a brain tumour when this was recorded

  • Fantastic....!!!

  • Just bought ticket for 25th november 2010 Heineken Hall Amsterdam !!!

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS !!!!

  • @BeeGeesFan999 Thank you! Because of you I noticed they're at the HMH! Bought two tickets too!

  • She is beautiful. Very English looking

  • I prefer tara to the original, much better!

  • she made a great effort but im sorry no one will ever beat julie covington and phil lynott

  • She has such a great voice, great singing.

  • the only musical you'd ever see me at! :-P

  • Wish I could drum like that!

  • @Gator2302 I wish I could play guitar like that!! :o

  • Epic

  • fantastic

  • great homage to phil lynott

  • SHIVERS LOVE IT

  • wow! they are great!!!

  • I do not agree, she is acting great, great voice, great performance. And btw, I think no one can fxxx the story up at all!!!!!!It´s just fantastic!!!

  • She is the best of the three who have played the role on the UK tours so far.

  • @BluebirdintheSky Who was the bloody awful woman who was singing "Nyoo Nyafanyul nyooo"? She made me want to climb up on the stage and slap her for butchering a brilliant piece of music. >: (

  • @BluebirdintheSky She is exellent! Phil Lynott is unreplacable as is Sir Richard!

  • @LeTinctoire I agree but he does a fairly decent job. Wish they did they same for Lynott as they did Burton somehow. Definitely Julie Covington should have been there.

  • Yes ... a wall of heads. How ... weird and not wanted. One is cool. more thna one runs it.

  • *More than

  • 5 Stars! ;-)

  • That or girls simply are hotter today than before! But the most important thing is the fact that she is a good singer!

  • Girls are not "hotter" if you base your judgement on average BMI, which has been steadily increasing in the Western world, despite all those fad diets and informercials.

  • she is hot

  • That Lady is Hot !

  • Of course she is, the average or plain looking never get a look-in in todays body fascist culture.

  • @Uptoyourfacelads I'm sorry, but just because she was hot,you think people only go for the beautiful well endowed women in the world? To bad.

  • @Zeke1950 The entertainment world/media does, not me

  • very nice

  • I think I prefer Julie Covington and Phil Lynott in this duet. Less operatic, more theatrical. Just more fitting to the part itself.

  • thare the org thats why...... why do ppl think that when other ppl do a part thare better ........well no fuckin way are thay ..............RIP PHIL LYNOTT

  • makes me cry

  • +++++

  • wuhu

  • Este espectaculo¿ a que año corresponde?.

  • playback

  • this music just sounds too clean and rejoiceful to impart any real terror.......want the real thing? try looking up some live videos by a band called the swans.

  • Beautiful !!!

  • This is AWESOME!

  • Absolutely breath taking performance.... And I'd give that hunny 1.... she;s not bad either. x

  • Such an amazing, powerfull, emotional masterpiece...The live version is just as good as the studio version. Thanks!

  • A Brilliant film and Great Song Love Shirls xx

  • the girl is cute.

  • i saw this live :) amazing time :)

  • I absolutely love these two I have this on cd I'm not sure who dose this song on the cd but it's just not as good as these two good job Tara and Russell I'd love to see this live anybody know if this ever comes state side?

  • I have this on vinyl!

  • @Goblinshark77 Its Phil Lynott and Julie Covington on the original

  • Tara and Russel are, in my opinion, the best Beth and Nathaniel. The originals were good, of course, but I adore Russel Watson's voice SO much and Tara Blaise has just the right emotion as well as an amazing voice.

  • I want a head like that just hanging around. Oh and it's gotta have a cool voice like that.

  • Definately! And its gotta say ordinary things in that deep voice all the time, like 'pass me the sugar', and 'who shall drive'. it sounds kinda evil.

  • here we are... close to each other...at 3h40 in the morning...... in love....listening to this it is still magnificent music... thank you Jeff...xxx... margielovebaby and thenorbieman

  • most peeps like the versions they kno, it could be there first time seeing, hearing it

  • I want to see this again next year =P so good when i saw it at the london arena on the 20th. they ruined this song though =O lol ah well. still brilliant (:

  • LOVE this album and production and finally seeing it at the o2 next year!

  • The Academy or the Grammy's should recognize Mr. Wayne for his musical genius on an album concept that resounds so well after 30 years. I never grow tired of hearing or watching this & some credit must be given to him while he is with us.

  • @adkpeakboy agreed!

  • brilliant

  • Tara is superb, love how Russell works his bad ankle into the performance, shame Tara didn't stay on as Jennifer Ellison struggled

  • Definitely will be interesting in 2010 to hear Jason Donovan.Didnt see this years but saw the Dec 2007 show in Nottingham as a result of being blown away by Russell and Tara's performance. That was great, but disappointed the parts were played by John Payne and Sinead Quinn who didnt match the DVD in quality of performance.Russell's performance is all the remarkable given the fact he was suffering the middle stages of his first brain tumour and was affected by severe headaches and vision problems.

  • I love this!

  • ive loved this record for over25 years.cant say how much iloved the album. but having seen both phil lynott and julia covington live i feel these are much better live performers.must admit though.iwould like to hear jason donovan perform this!

  • This is brilliant !!!

Btw do you guys know that Jason Donovan is going to be in The Musical Version of The Wars of The Worlds. Its just been announced. I found it out, on the war of the world website: the war of the worlds. com

  • the show is touring again next year and tickets went on sale today!!! at thewaroftheworlds official website

  • Phil lynot is much better than this guy. it's a shame he is dead now.

  • AMAZING LIVE !!

  • The actors ae exactly as I pictured them whenI first heard the album. Great performance. Very much like the original. This is one terrific peice of production. Thank you for posting!

  • I have it on my Walkman :) Awesome show *w*

    600th comment! :D

  • Damn, that's one beautiful actress!

  • can any one tell me if that is russel watson thanks G..

  • It says it's him in the description.

  • @glenntowers

    Yes it is Russell Watson

  • what year was that. 2006?

  • I grew up with this album, and Tara has it pretty much right on ! Very nice. Thanks for posting this.

  • you can find tara on facebook .. she's great so talented

  • This guy is good ! and trys hard !

  • Phil Lynot is much better than this guy. it's a shame that he is dead now.

  • Absolutely love this album beyond description, and always have. Thanks for posting this, the live production looks fantastic. I actually got chills. Wonderful performances and so great to see Jeff Wayne bring this so triumphantly back to life.

  • yeh i know wot u mean

  • wasnt it the bloke from thin lizzy on the actual album.

  • Tara's outstanding... She really captures the desperation that Julie Covington conveyed on the album.

Plus, she's literally one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.

She's like crack for your eyes & ears....More more more :-)

  • Was fortunate enough to see this live, Glasgow ,06. They were brilliant. The whole show was amazing!!

If you can, see it live.

  • I would give anything to see this live -- even and especially this passage.

After all these years, great is still great and fantastic is fantastic.

And, as you Brits would say (I think) brilliant is brilliant.

  • This is a great vid. I saw this live 2009, thanks for putting this on tube.

  • saw this live in 2007, FANTASTIC

would recommend anyone to see this.

  • Best version ever <3

  • is this still on in the theatre

  • he falls to his knees a lot.

i bet he's pretty sore afterwards

  • This is fantastic. I want more

  • Awesome

  • incrediable abolutly incrediable and she is realy hot!

  • Rusell Watson Did The Part Of The Priest For A Bit...

  • God, how incredible this would have been with Phil Lynott. RIP, Philo. You're still missed.

  • The CD track and this live performance is the best i've heard.

Altough i like Julie's voice better, it's more soothing and calming but this woman, Tara, sings her part just how i like song to sound. She execute all the note accentuation, vibrato and pauses with more conviction.

  • does one need to say more about this song? agree totally!

  • It's good but, It's not the same without Phil Lynott.

  • i listened to the cd the other day and i do love this so much!

  • only got one word fantasic

  • LIES!

  • Best track on the CD, Beth sounds much prettier on CD i think

  • this reminds me of pink floyd concert pulse i like it

  • No, Nathaniel, noooo.

    I love it. =']

  • Join the OFFICIAL Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of The Worlds website and Facebook page to keep up to date with news surrounding the 2010 Tour! Dates to be announced soon!

  • I have seen many concerts but this is one I will never forget.

    An absolute must for any fans.(and I don't even get a penny for promoting it).Sadly :o( .

  • This is good, the song is great one of my favorite for ages IMO and the musicians involved are excellent including the singers/performers.

  • NE 4ETI!:

ako ne prati6 tova na 10 dr klipa ba6tati 6te fane rak .... sRy

  • some folks can never say anything kind no matter what. If the war of the worlds ever really happened may they would change and find good words are just as easy as the other and find joy in things.

  • He's too operatic. She's good though.

  • The original male voie was Phil Lynott, right?

  • Yes. And Julie Covington was a much better Beth ;-)

  • Yes

  • Saw this show at the SECC Glasgow this year and it is still amazing!

  • Why the f they changed Tara Blaise out for Jennifer Ellison in the 2009 one I don't know. Jennifer is TERRIBLE.

  • UUULAAA!!!! AWESOME SONG!

  • jesus h corbett I think I just came, fuckin' choooon!!!

  • never phil but fucking great

  • infact russel does a guid job fair play

  • Fantastic sound. This sent shivers down my spine for years as a child, My parent played this like it was the national athem. It may not be exactly the same as the orignial but they pull together the result. Anyone who thinks this is not the real deal should ask themselves can they do better? Jeff Wayne is a real genious.

  • Tara Blaise is great. A desirable women for real !

  • good but not as good as Julie @ Phil on the original......the live show is fantastic, seen it twice !! rock @ roll !!!

  • Russell Watson has nothing on Phil Lynott!

  • Yes he has. He is alive!

  • can u buy this dvd in the u.s. any where?
