You can't tune a veyron, lilmone15, its impossible, the Mclaren is better by a longshot, less weight, rear wheel drive, carbon fiber, 15 years on and it still gives the veyron a run for it's money, i'll take a Mclaren over a veyron anyday, because it's a lot more reliable too

No it wouldnt, its not really even faster than a Bugatti, theve broken a record maybe 5 times on a huge strip of highway and barely broke the record, not to mention SSC's are extremely light and handle like shit.
The bugatti only won cuz that was a mile race. Quarter mile, mclaren, half mile, same deal. He only reeled him in late in this race of course because its a W16 engine. I guess that fact makes the bugatti just as cool.

This race is dumb and irrelevant, it should have been the Koenigsegg CCR instead of the Bugatti. The CCR took the title from the F1 not the Bugatti. Likewise, the SSC Ulitmate Aero took the crown from the Veyron, that's what it should have raced.

its because the mclaren is naturally aspirated, while the Bugatti has 4 turbo chargers which need to heat up in order for the Bugatti to produce its full power

the info bit doesn't make sense, the bugatti has a 0-60 time of 2.5 sec, thats alot faster than the mclaren f1, so the bugatti should be alot quicker through ever gear because on paper it is quicker through each gear, and quicker from 0-200. it's clearly cause michael schumacher is in the f1, and hamster heed is in the bugatti:). would luv 2 see the stig in the bugatti.

+1 plus the Buggati had a problem at the launch. Another main factor aganst it was the heat and we all know how it effects turbocharged cars. The ideal temp would be sub 20 C
Remember, Hammond is a good driver as well, though you see Jeremy doing most of the driving. Hammond also loves and owns musclecars, so he appreciates the drag race. With the Bugatti, you just get a good launch and you hold on!
I love top gear, but this is a bit one sided. To start.. The F1 accelerates faster here, the funny part is it's tested to 60 speed is 3.2s .. The veyron is advertised going to 60 in 2.5s.. Obvious issues there, then you could go on to mention that the Veyron is all wheel drive, turbo charged, and 16.4L of engine punching out 1001bhp. Despite that, it still can't hang with the 15 year old 627hp F1 until it gets over the 200mph point. No handling test for a reason, Mclaren F1 still has no equal.
The Veyron is overall better than the mclaren.
