I cancelled 3 with 6 before multiplying across because the final answer will need to be completely reduced, and it's easier to see what can be reduced if you cancel before multiplying. Other way to do it is to multiply 14*6 for numerator, 3*-3 for denominator, and get fraction of 84/-9, then reduce by dividing top and bottom by 3. You'll get same final answer of -28/3.
