  • that one dislike is probably with BD hahaha

in my top 5 of all time shows

  • Comment removed

  • whoever disliked this is an idiot.

  • damn I just can't get over how amazing this show actually is. The level of performance and it just grooves to no end! love it!

  • 2012 World Champion...........BLUECOATS! Let's go BLOOOOO!!!!!

  • Tuba Soli was pretty killer !!! Was a good show wish I could of marched Euphonium that year.

  • This show deserved top honors in 2010 if you ask me.

  • GOD ALMIGHTY.

:) This is how drum corps. should be. Dynamic, Exciting, and IN YOUR FACE,.

  • one of the reasons i think i like this show so much is that it follows how the cavaliers did their 2004 show 007. Hard hits, amazing sound, and nothing less than exciting drill that isn't overly complicated with weird props but is amazing as drill should be. The blue devils show wasn't bad but truly i felt that it missed the wow factor that a lot of drum chores seem to have lost in the recent years. Chills from beginning to end. Perfection.

  • full multicam show here!

    /watch?v=pH1wJcVpws4

    :)

  • honestly. how can somebody dislike this?!?!

  • full multicam show here!

    /watch?v=pH1wJcVpws4

  • That sop is just lost at 2:30

  • Jesus Christ.. If the Bluecoats did more shows like this they would be a shoe-in for the gold medal.

  • 1 person is from BD haha

  • 1:07 = guardgasm!!!:D

  • @iVirtuoso2 oh my gosh right? and starting at 11:04

  • This hornline was so sick.

  • @Mrfunkyoyo Everything was so sick.

  • as soon a s the guard came in i went from o__o to O_______O

  • dont get me wrong.... i like "Brave New World" but i hope 2012 the do something like this

  • @funkrok2010 I agree........2011 was too much of a rehash of 2010, which in my opinion was 1st ( and I am a Cavalier fan).

  • Comment removed

  • @funkrok2010 And get that gold medal that they have deserved in 2010.

  • What is the ballad tune? Not Hans Zimmer or Heap...anyone know?

  • @Shires1130 its called metropolis, it was originally wrote for this show

  • ummm.....why didnt they win????

  • This drill is epic.

  • six words baby

  • Epic penis at 1:52 anybody?

  • 1:08-1:16 flags are ah-mazing.

  • Man, this show jams. My favorite Bloo show since 2002.

  • The last like 4 shows all make me wanna march Bloo ASAP!!!

  • 2:44 amazing!

  • Honestly u look like your on a helicopter :)

  • Amazing is all i have to say!!!!:)

  • This show made me a blueeeeeeeeeeee coats fan! what amazing show beginning to end! wow!

  • Out of all the DCI shows I've seen, this one is the only one I can remember the music to. I think that's a compliment.

  • Love the bass split from 2:05-2:09

  • I wish i had the score of this show SO BAD!!!! Especially the Marimba and Xylo part!!!! I play trumpet, but those runs coming from the pit in the opener... MIND BLOWING!!!!! I want to learn them! :D

  • Ok....I agree that they should have finished ahead of BD....but it's not the first time that the coats should have beaten BD and didn't....see 2005 anybody?

    Reverse dance marathon?!?!?!?! REALLY??????

  • bloo should've won championships this year, don't even lie to yourself.

  • championships 2010*

  • @Death22x oh its ok im not, BD all the way lol

  • could the colorguard be any more perfect? :O

  • Far more professional and stylish than the glitter puke of blue devils marching around with shape ups on half a field filled with mirrors.

  • @RythmFanatic ummm, you definently read my mind

  • @RythmFanatic U mad?

  • @octive1994

    160 BPM from Angels & Demons-Hans Zimmer

    Asphalt Cocktail-John Mackey

    Ah-Ha!-Imogen Heap

    Metropolis-Tom Rarick, Douglas Thrower

Go to the DCI Fan Network store and click digital downloads, then pick 2010 Atlanta. Go to the Coats section and you can view their repertoire. And everybody else's! AND you can buy them!

  • Dude my middle school director/marching instructor this year worked on Blue Coats staff :DDDD

  • This show solidified my want to join a Drum Corp. And it persuaded me to audition for the Bluecoats. I can't wait to have a chance to march with them.

  • @Bigdady4261 Good luck! When you audition strive for perfection, do the best you can do and dont think for a second that anyone is above you.

  • OK, so I know it goes:

    160 BPM-Hans Zimmer

    AHA!-Imogen Heap

    ???-???

    Asphalt Cocktail-John Mackey

Can anyone tell me the name of the ballad?

  • @octive1994 the ballad is an original piece that was written just for this show.

  • Jizz in my pants when the colorguard is in the triangle in the beginning.

  • My daughter marched this and I think the whole corp was fantastic. But the guard was the best ever. The flags were soooo together and the weapons were fierce. Check out at 5:37 the girl with the flag on the 50 yard line. That's my daughter. Love you Sam, I wish you would have marched this year.

  • Oh nvm rehearsal rite?

  • Why no uniforms

  • the stagger-breathing at 2:57 is unreal! plus half of it is on the move (classic bluecoats). that should get way more credit than corps who do neither. c'mon now.

  • @jared0111 We actually spent a bit of time giving counts for each individual to know where and which counts everyone breathes on. haha Thanks for noticing! :)

  • There comes a year that a corp performs its most epic and most recognizable show in their history. For Phantom, it's Spartacus. For the Cavaliers, it's Mad World. For the Bluecoats, it's Metropolis. This 2010 show was by far the most epic and most awe-inspiring piece of performance I had ever witnessed. It really showed the corp who they truly were. From a chilling opener, to a slow and heartwarming ballad, to a kick-butt and extremely difficult closer, Metropolis had the whole package.

  • @dstreet17 i think for the cavaliers it's frameworks...

  • @supermrawesomeman Ahh yes! lol. Can't forget about the show that got them the highest score in DCI hisory.

  • How 'bout that Bluecoat low brass :D

  • there drummer is amazing starting at 3:35

  • ohhh man this show always gives me chills everytime i watch this especially the opener! bloooooooooooo!!!!

  • !!!!! This video is amazing. Saw them in Atlanta last year and was blown away! The opener gives me some serious chills.

  • What a amazing, fantastic, beautiful presentation. Strong clean precise, dynamic horn line. marching excellence.

  • Blooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • Bloo Brass 2010... Youre my Hero.

  • 1:07 gave me MAJOR chills.

  • I marched heel down on my 5-5s. What did you do? Last time I checked, jazz running is easier than marching large step sizes (6-5, 5-5, 4-5, etc.) heel down. However, who knows? I might not have figured it out after 6 years. Also... if you're judging it based on how hard it looks... means that you have no idea how to march or analyze a show. So by your definition... The bottom 4 corps have the hardest shows in DCI year in and year out. Jealous is a sweet username..

  • Comment removed

  • The fact that you can't visibly tell where our large step sizes are can be attributed to good, smart drill writing and GREAT teaching. Each corps does things differently, and just because we don't jazz run everything doesn't make the show any less difficult than anyone else's.

  • @Jealous101691 I'm in a high school band and we did jazz running last year and doing it again this year. We also have a set of 12 counts 6 to 5, but nothing bigger. i think anything over that might as well be jazz running.

  • if someone can give me a time that they took a larger steps size than 6-5 or used jazz running technique let me know.

  • Comment removed

  • @Jealous101691 throughout my whole show. bahaha Why do people try and fight about step size. Yeah every corps has huge step sizes and little steps sizes. I am 5'3" and was the corner to all form rotations = biggest step size. Every corps goes through struggles so lets not fight and enjoy.

  • @Jealous101691 Still butthurt about last season? Let it go man. I could say something similar about you doing ballet and laying down on the floor and doing a kick routine. I teach a high school that uses Leon's drill and I know he's a great drill writer that writes a lot of large step sizes. The reason you don't see much jazz running technique here is because we choose to march straight leg (toe up) even with larger than 6-5, check out the trumpets at 2:30. There are MANY more examples.

  • @PhantomAl250 if you close your eyes and watch that clip can you tell when we stood up? i'm gonna go ahead and say no for you. Most of your drill wasn't that demanding. Yes i'm bitter about it. We never got credit for doing stuff other corps wouldn't even try to do.

  • 0:00-11:54 is the most epic thing i've ever heard! Like if you agree ;D

  • 11:15 to the end is my favorite part of any show since the first impact of crowns 2008 show. it just gives me chills

  • My Favorite Part Is Around 10:27

  • Damned nice show. 8)

  • 16 Contras is legit.

  • @DrummingLawyer Their 2011 show is Brave New World, and it features Radiohead's 'Creep'. It will be better than any throwback show. That's for sure.

  • KA-THOOM

That was the sound of my jaw drop the first time I heard this show.

The John Mackey piece that was the closer (Asphalt Cocktail) makes me want to cry every time I hear it. :') I love you Bluecoats. Make me proud this year.

  • @FloydFan2010 It's just too that you're a Coats homer, TAKE 5 in 4/4.....Hahahahahahahahah, maybe for 2011 they'll do a 92 throwback show, complete w/the blue on blue(smurf) unis..............................................d.a.m.

  • I almost crapped my pants when I heard that opening bass run. So hot!

  • My ultimate dream is to be in this guard! Because they are not just a guard...but they are THE guard! I love them! I just hope one day they will be able to take me :)

Just look at 0:01 to 11:54...

    best show EVER!

  • 8:29 to 8:40 most epic feature ever

  • droped riffle in the 4th minute of the vid

  • Someone upload Bluecoats 2008 and 2009 shows >.<

  • haha best show :)

cept at 1:50 the brass to the left looks like a penis

  • @cl0420 PHAHAHA I didn't even noticed that they looked like a penis, but they so do!

  • what time is the beginning in?

  • @kkaatteellynn its a mix of 3/4 and 4/4 and in some parts of the opener the time changes from 7/4 to 2 or 3/4 and 4/4

  • I want to be in this guard so bad!!! My jaw drops everytime.

  • That last chord always gives me goosebumps. I'd love to be a mello in this corps.

  • Most epic pit run ever 1:39-1:48

  • soo good :/ i miss this

  • I can't even yell BLUE after watching this.

  • That sounds like Yani-Live at the Acropolis.

I feel like I'm on a spiritual to find myself out on the drumcorp field.

and want to cry because my lover want to travel the stars, and all I wanna do is play my horn.

This is not Drum Corp; This is band on Steroid.

    I want to cry again..

  • Chills....

  • What I find amazing is how much better it got between BV and Finals.

  • OMG MELLOS!!!

  • 2:43-3:11 LOVE IT!

  • Get it mellos!

  • This hornline just sounds better and better every year. Really clean, pure sound. Meaty lower trumpets. Great intonation, especially with all the seconds- nice and crunchy. I was floored the first time I saw this show.

  • @misterchun Thank you for noticing the meaty lower trumpets! We had a great 3rd part soprano section in 2010.

  • @bloo91tinson No problem! I'm a trumpet player that's always struggled with the upper register, so I tend to have an appreciation for those that sound great in the lower half of the trumpet's range haha. Not sure why my comment got deleted tho... uploader must not like compliments being handed out on his video.

  • @drumboy1313 I am in very middle on the left side next to the contras before I sprint into the line. It was a little bigger than a 4 to 5 straight across the field slide. I also am 5' 2" the shortest trumpet player haha. Everytime we would run that part the contras would just laugh at me before every rep because it is so ironic that I got that spot.

  • that contra solo

  • @svensnare1 "that contra solo" from band to english: "DAT ASS"

  • This show rules!

  • That diamond into a line at like 9:58 was awesome. The people in the middle probably had to sprint haha.

  • @drumboy1313

Just a perfect slide with the horn up, at a 4 to 5 step size... NBD

  • The bluecoats never fail to please me.

  • 6:13 wtf was that a ghost across the field???

  • @ThatAwkwardMan It was a bird/bat.

  • @ThatAwkwardMan ...or a moth?

  • bass drums ftw

  • They should have beat the Cavies. Not close to BD though. I do like this show, nice job 'Coats!

  • @devsop NO! you have it backwards Cavaliers- 1st Bluecoats-2nd Crown 3rd and Blue devils somewhere very low.

  • @sagetinthahood You're just one of the many cavalier fanboys... You'll understand when you actually march corps. You can have all the opinions you want but the only show that counts is finals night when everyone sees who comes out on top.

  • @Dinosawrroflcopter Actually im not a cavaliers fan at all ( Bluecoats and Cadets) i just am willing to accept that the cavaliers did better than the bluecoats and blue devils

  • Everything in this show just... works. Such a high level of excellence in design and performance (ignore my bias). It was a pleasure to have marched 5 summers with this organization... and the 2010 summer was unforgettable.

But I miss you most of all...

  • @PhantomAl250 Whats the experience like, to see it all come together, to be apart of something so amazing, im only a sophomore in highschool but love marching to death i plan on doing it in college and pursuing a career as a conductor or something with marching, have a lovely day

  • WOW THIS IS SOOOO DOPE!!!!

  • the "aha!" movt was much stronger here than on the finals dvd. and the release at the end of the ballad here was nice :)

  • @1drummer214 and bass just chillin on the 50 from 5:16 till forever. holdin it down

  • that was phenomenal! I hadn't seen that show yet. The drill overall was just...holy cow. Spectacular!

  • That was the sexiest contra feature I've ever heard, and that moment in the closer when the flags surrounded the band, fricken phenomenal.

  • @bladeofzol Not a band. It's a drum corps. Please get it right. We're very ornery about that nuance.

  • @bladeofzol Agreed. Probably the coolest contra feature I've heard.

  • i was there. lol i went to that high school

  • Best Bluecoats show ever.....love the Cavaliers---but this show should have won---yea even over BD

  • bluecoats all the way baby, this one is much better then last years, i well admite it. even though im trying to get the last years snare part down for opener

  • Comment removed

  • I kinda chuckled at the flag player that forgot their flag at the impact but still stayed in character. At first I thought it was part of the show! Oh how I love the Bluecoats!

  • gooosseebummpss. never noticed what the two peeps in the guard did closer to the front sideline at the end. I love the reoccurring motifs in the show!

and I miss it. 6 words, Bloo!

  • belle vernon, nice. this is too sick...11:22 to the end is for sure one of my favorite moments in corps history

  • the 5-A texas all state band gets to play asphalt cocktail!!! aka the third movement of this show! :)

  • 5;20 - 5:48 is such a fucking hype

5, you were fucking boss this summer.

  • Contra solo RAPES

  • I challenge you all to watch only the color guard from 9:44 to the end, even after marching this it still amazes me the amount of work they do.

  • @coppingenh What did you march? Like what section?

  • Quite happy I found this video. Um, the toss in the diamond in the closer? Siiiicckk! Good run for us, ladies and gents. BCCG<3

  • i like how the guard member splitting the the 45 and 50 reaches out for his/hers flag and realizes its not there..haha..and then running to the side line...awaesomness..i love their show.

  • BD overrated this is much better than their mirror shit show. But my favorite hands down is Mad World

  • Can't wait for Bluecoats next season!

  • 1:51 am i the only one seeing a penis?

  • At the very beginning, there is a flag gap just left of center. :58 the person runs to the front sideline to get it.

  • Mad World was my favorite show of the year, but it looses its "wow factor" after a while. This doesn't. I have really started to like the Bluecoats. Between this show, Connexus, Knockout, and Criminal they definitely my second favorite corps.

  • Sooooooo who watched the "Early Season" performance before this one and thought they were both ridiculously amazing?

  • when i saw the title for the show i thought it was going to be stupid. man was i wrong

  • 5:10-5:25 is the most epic thing i've ever heard!! like if you agree!! :)

  • Comment removed

  • Wow the bluecoats get better each year. I love their shows and most definitely their drumline!

  • most badass drumline in dci. period.

  • o_o

i seem to have underestimated the Bluecoats.

i am in love with this show.

  • i thought the exact same thing.

  • Godlike trumpets at 4:18

    So intense!
