Im gonna tryout and everybody told me that im really good because i play just as good or better than the rich kids who have the best coaches, fields, and equipment and i only started club soccer a year ago and everyone was suprised. I just wanted to ask what kind of drills or things that they do in ODP tryouts?

I played ODP in ga. (Olympic development program) it's not expensive at all. Try outs are held once a year norm at the end of the summer. I was 88 ODP, and region team/ national pool team. ODP helped me stay at the top level. They take you to region camp in the summer where they then make a region pool, region team. National pool, and national team.. If selected for national team, you go to their residency program in fl. It was not expensive at all. Maybe 2-3 tournaments a year. Practic

odp tryouts are so fun! there are no refs and you can slide from behind, ram into people, ya know, send em flyin alittle bit :) when i went, the first day i wasnt really into it, but the second day i totally got used to how to play, and I made it! in oregon!

I played ODp for 3 years in GA (88's). The purpose of ODP (Olympic Development Program) is to identify the best players in your state. Once you make the team, you compete w your region (south texas, unc, miss, tenn, ect and play there odp teams. Also in the summer you go to region camp and you play in pool games w your region. I made it to national pool, in residency (Fl). College scouts such as USC, WVU Furman, UCF Kentucky

outfile, Jeremy is a gifted kid, he doesn't have to try hard at anything which makes him just slide along and do average. I feel sorry for poor Zack because he can't play soccer in high school, he would get destroyed playing with kids bigger than he is. Ive played both soccer and hockey. I played soccer to U17 and played Junior A hockey. I admit soccer is more physically demanding but hockey is way rougher on the body.

Too many parents do that, and most are white - but not all. It's this stupid "self-esteem" kick they're all on. Parents shouldn't lie to their kids to make them "feel good." Kids need to learn the connection between their actual performance and their value to the team. Effort only counts for so much - results are more important.

outfile, Jeremy is a gifted kid, he doesn't have to try hard at anything which makes him just slide along and do average. I feel sorry for poor Zack because he can't play soccer in high school, he would get destroyed playing with kids bigger than he is. He was coaching his mother's soccer team, or helping her and teaching the kids shots and such, he would make an excellent coach.

odp is harder than it looks ITS THE BEST PLAYERS IN STATE!i wouldnt say its easy its not as damanding but if u wanna be the best than u have to put 100% effort every day and wake up every morning saying ur going to pratice hard, its a choice and in sports like american football u have to pratice any way with ppl telling u to(lazy), american football and baseball doesnt make sense... and in "soccer" you can become a pro at any age unlike most sports

and I don't understand how the hell you get injured in baseball. all you do is hit a ball with a bat. run to each base. if you're playing outfield all you have to do is catch the ball and throw it to the base and get someone out. The only reason baseball players get injured is because

Ive played both soccer and hockey. I played soccer to U17 and played Junior A hockey. I admit soccer is more physically demanding but hockey is way rougher on the body.
