Read Darwin Plantation by Ham, and the myth racial geneic Superiorty. Public school system started teaching Racail superioty in 1920s that's has bean proven wrong; DNA testing show know one has more animal or monkey genes by race. I.Q. test are culturaly bias, but some races have more cowards.
Michelle Alexander does not attack the problem but only the symptoms. She emphasizes criminality. Why? Once one acknowledges the statistics of children born out of wedlock in the community, many things are explained. Approx 3/4 African Americans are born out of wedlock and THAT'S THE PROBLEM because it is directly related to poverty statistically. Poverty is related to crime statistically. The nuclear family is going extinct in the black community: that is the problem. Conveniently ignored?
@MarkyRocketmane I agree! She has some valid points but fails to give solutions. We need to realize our worth and the power in the family unit. In addition, understand our rights and use them. Whites know their rights as American citizens. They write letters, make phone calls and will use it to their advantage every time they get in trouble.
@jromano16 Michelle Alexander has done AMAZING work, who else has a book out with this information? She's constantly attending events and speaking at colleges. What can we do when corporations lobby in washington d.c. with BILLIONS of dollars to build private prisons for profit and acquire public prisons to transform them into private prisons. Contact your congress, they're bribed. The only viable solution is to inform as many people as possible, and unite. See Ramarley Graham; private prisons.
@jromano16 She does give a solution, unfortunately it is a very difficult solution to actually implement. Her solution is the creation of a mass social movement dedicated to reversing the drug war. The difficulty is that the victims of the drug war are a marginalized demographic of our society. People do not see them as victims worthy of a social movement on their behalf. But the first step is to make people aware of what`s happening. It`s not an easy solution, but it`s still a worthy discussion
@jromano16 I myself am a convicted felon and a college student who hopes to go to law school. I am also white but none the less everything she says is right on point. I may not be of color but I have experienced all of the discrimination of which she talks about. The victims of the drug war transcend racial lines, but people of color are victims in disproportionate numbers. Admittedly there is no easy solution, but does that mean that the topic is not worthy of discussion?
Crime wasn't related to crime statistically in black ghetto's until the crack and heroin epidemics, before those epidemics we had astounding historical events such as the Harlem Renaissance and black people were doing good even in poverty. Now we have to question why the FBI monitored everything in the black community with COINTELPRO, why the CIA shipped drugs into the country which made its way into all communities but left extremely negative effects on black impoverished areas
I love this woman and am buying her book. But the NDAA trumps everything she says. No one in the U.S. has any rights any more due to the Patriot Act and the NDAA. Obama can and did execute someone without due process and claims the right to do that to citizens as well.
This is great information and a lot of it is what it is. When I taught high school in the 90's another brother from California had published a book about the growing prison system in this nation and how it is affecting African-American disproportionately. Its true and several Presidents beginning with Nixion all the way to Clinton have contributed to the problem
I want this lady to live in a Detroit slum for 2 months, come out of that experience and explain to us how the system is set up to blame black people for the crimes they never commit.
This lady has absolutely no idea what she is talking about.
I think if we as people don't learn to be individuals and discover ourselves we will continue to be victims of other peoples creations. I think that their is a lot of talent and great thinkers out there that you will never know because of the society. What I mean is that babies come out of the womb into a world where they are being trained in who they should be. Individuality is not really respected in this world. We as people distance ourselves from the abnormal unless it becomes popular.
@DAfroSamarai, ya, hows about poor people stop indiscriminately fucking each other and creating bastard children that they refuse to accept or support.
@Shaymeonyoo Hows about we stop supporting them with foodstamps and social welfare, imagine a world where the idiots die out without the support of the system.
@Shaymeonyoo imagine that. dumb people dying out without the promises of politicians who are implicit in the behavior that has made them dumb and poor, can any of you wrap your minds around that?
@Shaymeonyoo Under the guise of equality u've just proposed an unequal 'solution'. Yes, more black people depend on the social welfare and doing away with and letting the 'idiots die out' does indeed kill of a lot of blacks. But the reasons for them being in their situations in the first place can't be ignored. This country has never settled the debt it owes the black population. To dispute that is to blame the black race for their situation which would in effect deem them inferior
Even if you decriminalize drugs, what about the property crimes? People who use drugs have no problem breaking into your car or your home to steal your stuff and sell it. So, do we excuse that as well?
@anacortesrocks But the reality is people are going to break into houses whether they are on drugs or not on drugs. People commit crime while off drugs ya know.
@DAfroSamarai Ya, so why do "black" people still hold the monopoly of criminal activity despite the fact they are a minority of the entire U.S. population?
Are you really so dumb that you believe the "system" is set up to catch "black" people committing crimes?
Please don't tell me you are as stupid as this woman on this video.
@Shaymeonyoo Are you kidding me, where do you live? Italian organized crime groups control crime, at least in New York City, albiet it has been slowly loosing its control, but not to blacks but to Russians, Latinos , Albanians etc.
I never hear progressives like her ever actually talk about black communities themselves and how those communities are a large cause of why "%50" of adult black males have criminal records in Chicago.
Everything is always an allusion to racism in the system rather than taking a long, hard look at what is at the root of the criminal behavior in black communities, DESPITE the fact these communities are NOTORIOUS throughout the country for criminal activity.
@DAfroSamarai um, to answer your question, I believe that "Black Communities" are responsible for the behavior that is exhibited by the "Blacks" in those communities.
Its as plain as day why St. Louis, Atlanta GA., Washington D.C., Cleveland OH, Baltimore MA, Birmingham AL are all full of shitty, "Black" communities who all vote Democrat and blame Republicans for how terrible their communities are.
The problem with these communities stems from Democratic policy....
@DAfroSamarai The solution to these problems is to hold dumb people accountable for the mistakes they make in life. Democrats never take the individual's decisions into account. There is never any sense of personal responsibility involved in Democrat policy.
Everything is always.....Poor people are poor, Rich people are rich.....Rich people pay for Poor people.....
@DAfroSamarai The only solution is for those fucked up communties to realize their plight is due to their own hands.
It's not because of slavery, its not because of white people, its because their kids would rather grab their dicks, sell drugs, spray graffiti and piss on everything that is constructive in life.
@Shaymeonyoo It seems you got the wrong idea from my question and pulled words out of your mind that you have been waiting to say for a long time. I asked questions with no strings attached, but it seems you are on the defensive. Instead of seeing a moment to discuss you go on the attack as if you're defending your mindset or something. I just wanted to see what you thought lol.
@Shaymeonyoo My personal opinion is that people are playing follow the leader. Even in your own comments you seem to display follow the leader mentality. Follow the leader mentality in this context is the reality that we people never seem to understand that all this ''white people,'' ''black people,'' ''yellow people,'' ''brown people,'' ''red people'' stuff is doing more harm than good. I think a solution is for people to see themselves as individuals instead of groups.
@Shaymeonyoo I'm a so called ''black person'' [ not my creation, someone Else's], and it would be idiotic for me to turn my self in if another so called ''black person'' commits a crime and is wanted by the police ; I didn't commit the crime so why should I take punishment for it. My point is that people are individuals. I think a problem humanity makes is continuing this follow the leader mentality and following this separation into groups creation.
@DAfroSamarai It's obvious you are middle classed like me, skin color has nothing to do with anything. I only put "Black" and "White" in quotes because that is how this simple country chooses to define things.
@Shaymeonyoo And this is why you can go into communities and find the environment being pretty much the same house to house [ I mean until you go behind closed doors where people can take off their mask]. I personally believe that most people learn to identify things and what follows is them trying to identify themselves. I think that people also have what I called earlier the follow the leader mentality.
@Shaymeonyoo [continued]... When you mix people trying to identify themselves with the follow the leader mentality you end up with a lot of people identifying themselves with what is popular. When I was in middle school and even in high school I found that many people had the mentality I described earlier. They would stick close to what was ''cool'' and ''normal,'' and any behavior beyond that would get you put into the ''freak'' or ''lame'' category.
@DAfroSamarai so you are answering your own question as to why certain communities (I'm not insinuating black/white) are prone to specific behavior. (black/brown people steal far more cars than white people do)
@Shaymeonyoo "They"(black/browns) statistically commit the majority of these activities because the family unit of black/brown people has been destroyed due to misguided governmental intervention (food-stamps, section 8 housing, social "welfare" in general)
Put simply, black/brown people POOR people have FAR more kids than they can take care of. Whitetrash do the same, but, comparatively, in less numbers.
Its all a matter of class, and the low class are over-populating.
@Shaymeonyoo Given the American history and its relations with ethnic minorities it would be pollyannish of you to beleive that the destruction of the black family was a 'misguided governmental intervention'. An intervention it was, but not misguided or by accident as you allude. Its difficult to talk facts with someone who has convenient amnesia when it comes to certain things.
Legit question: can anybody point out to me where she addresses why exactly black men are being picked up and prosecuted for criminal activity in the first place?
@Shaymeonyoo Because the white man is in position of power, but things will change evetually. If the u.s. invades iran, that's it for the white man being over people.
@Shaymeonyoo because it's their agenda, it's easy for the white man to set up as well, the white man can keep jobs, resources out of these communities of black and latino people, particularly men. Then there is a possibility they may go to criminal activity. The police white, asian or whatever, operate to support the white supremacy system to serve & protect the white community, & to control, dominate and terrorize the black community.
@Shaymeonyoo And so this is why you have people acting the same because we have been trained to be in groups instead of being individuals. I'm not saying people shouldn't come together BTW, I'm saying that we should learn to be individuals and learn about ourselves individually.
And a good example of the group mentality is people saying white music=rock, country and black music= rap,hip hop, rnb. You will find many people feel embarrassed about even trying out ''other'' music.
@Shaymeonyoo Yes there are several places in the book, if you care to pick it up, where Michelle addresses the causes for the high rate of black incarcerations. Its mainly rooted in the American political rhetoric of pitting the lower class whites against blacks who pose them the danger of taking over their jobs. Reagan era ushered in coded language to send signals to this group of whites and ensure them that blacks would not be a danger to their jobs and 'values'.
@Shaymeonyoo [contd] Once the Reagan administration took office they began to make good on their campaign promise. Reagan used the war on Drugs to carry out this mission. Through very enticing incentives the criminal justice system was increasingly directed to profile and pick up black people for drugs.Hence why more black men 'are being picked up and prosecuted for criminal activity.' Hope that answers your question.
Black America it is time to get some backbone and leave America and find some land of our own. We have the money and the education and untapped talent to make something of our own work!!!! Please I beg you all enough is goddamn enough, lets do this so our children can respect us again because if we don't more generations will suffer at the hands of our enemies!!!
I AGREE WITH YOU 1,000,000% A NATION SUCH AS THIS ONE BEGAN WITH WITH CRIMINAL ACTION AGAINST PEOPLE OF COLOR. IT WILL NEVER BE RIGHTIOUS TOWARD ANY SO-CALLED PEOPLE OF COLOR.....THE ONLY WAY WE WILL EVER BE FREE IS CREATING AND GOVERNING A NATION OF OUR OWN
Quit filing reports about what is so obvious! Black people were bought to America to be slaves. The thirteenth Amendment indicates that once a slave after being freed if found guilty of a felony returns to the status of a slave! The only way out is exactly what it is. We as Black people should be more than ready to go and establish a society of our own. Why do we stay in this worthless ass society. The Black leadership are a bunch of cowards for suggesting we continue to work out this injustice.
I get so sick and tired of the privileged few filing reports about what us field blacks are going through and have gone through since being the the wilderness of North America Inc. We dont give a damn about your perceived concepts and I for one will be glad when the real black men and women get together and gather the balls to leave this god forsaken society, because one thing we know for sure nothing will never change because what is works for the powers that be it (slavery still works!!)
So what did Obama do for black people? Vote Ron Paul 2012 to end the drug war, death penalty and our awful foreign policy that targets all people of color!!!
@winchesteranacom Uh no. Your facts are all wrong. First, it's your mother that's a corporate cock gobbling twit and Paul does NOT support the death penalty.
I'm soo glad this video has been put up here. I read Michelle's book in 2009 and the woman is SPOT FUCKING ON with what she says and claims. Absolutely right!
[continued]... that doesn't make it the right way to live. So please if you will, refrain from acting like you care [ JasonArgonaut3912], my opinion is that you wanted to come and tell a group of people that you don't consider to be like you to change their ways and become like you. I don't stand for violence and self destruction but I also don't stand for this idea that people have to change their ways of talking or ways of dressing or hairstyles just so that people like you can feel safe.
I recognize there is a difference between coo and cool, wassup and whats up, but if I choose to use ''coo'' instead of ''cool'' or ''you a foo mayne'' instead of ''you're a fool man'' that is my individual choice. I also understand that to survive in this world you have to have an education, well unless you want to be out on the street or living out in some community that lives off the land. But at the same time I also understand that just because someone says this is the right way to live..
..there's too much division. It's not like the so-called Black leaders were unaware of this happening. The issue is, ALL Black Leaders: Religious & Political allowed it to happen on their watch. There are more churches in the black neighborhoods then any other business & it does very little to empower the people to be independent. The church can have skill trade program to make the people more employable but they don't. SO NOW WHAT!
@JasonArgonaut3912 Tell me this: Where did slaves learn to speak English? From their white slave masters possibly? Did slave masters allow their slaves to learn to read? Huh? Did whites in the south have issues with Blacks attending white schools? Huh? Do segregated schools still exist today? Is the cost of a college education getting any cheaper? Oh, and how about the way schools are funded by property taxes in Ohio, which was found to be unconstitutional? I'm just sayin'!
@JasonArgonaut3912 First of all, you shouldn't make blanket statements about all African-Americans. That's like me saying that all White people are racist. It's not like those who don't speak proper English don't have the ability to speak proper English, but sometimes it's more like a choice. Maybe the choice to not speak proper English is sort of a rebellion to experiencing 400 years of slavery, Jim Crow laws, segregation, systematic exclusion, and racist attitudes such as yours.
@JasonArgonaut3912 Gosh, Jason, such a question from a Harvard graduate with an MBA degree! You can't find in your heart sympathy for blacks forced to suffer life in cages for years just because they wanted to experience the sensation of feeling their full sovereignty, being high, in a land where only the rich are supposed to feel so great. The pot laws are one more instance along with 9/11 proving the US government has turned against its people, is terminally corrupt, in need of replacement.
it's incredible how she has pointed out something that has great credibility pertaining to us as blacks and all we can do is make comments "not all" that cause separation. she is speaking the truth no matter how much it hurts it's the truth. racism still does exist PERIOD. we have made no good progress. things are the same and if u think the success of one or two others is the pinnacle of all black people u are just as stupid as the blacks back then for believing in integration. think bout this
Ok, She's not a Dr. She has apparently done her homework. If you got together 200 black males age 16 to 28, they could tell you what shes's said, in there own words. Regarless of who the class or race of people, it's a war on people, trying to live. Petty chanrges used to run up fines or take drivers liscenses and prevent people from making an honest living is ridiculious! People are being removed from society "permanently", I think it can be labled a modern day Extermination.
I agree with All of what Dr Alexander is saying. "We as People Of Color" must take resposnbility for being informed and staying informed of what is going on around us. What is being described has been going on for years and our people walk around and carry ourselves as though everything is ok. The snarl has been laid and we/they continue to walk into it. Then we complain! Does anyone agree that we must also look at what we do, while we legally address the Tactics of the the New Jim Crow?
@efrancisp....of course we need to take responsibility. I have a question, why do you address her as "Dr" she hasn't received her PhD., she's a professor of Law and a Lawyer.
However, what she's saying is that this has stifled minorities, the majority of minorities. She's being kind b/c I have been calling this new system of control the new evolution of slavery.
She's definatle has done her research well. I am getting her book and using it as a reference guide to open discusion and help resolving debates. It's also has given me influence to study Law more and state statutes.
i didnt misinterpret ur fishing analogy, i was implying that it was pointless. and u speak "of other crimes" but black males dnt go to jail for other crimes at high rates....they go for petty drug possession, a crime in which u choose to ignore once i re-iterated that ur ppl r loser crackheads/whores just like the next group. and u want to justify this disproportion by the "ratting out" factor? LOL, Yeah..but SHE'S the one that's dumb? atleast she's not racist lyk u. pathetic
@DivinelyMochaDipped You did, and you continue to do so. You also ignore the fact that many of those convicted of drug charges plead guilty to those charges, in the face of more substantial charges for other crimes, including violent drug-related crimes.
You really need to grow up, live a little, and get your head out of your ass before calling somebody racist because their facts and experience don't agree with your pre-conceived notions about how the world works.
dumbass i'm a college-level sociology major so whatever notions i have are not pre-conceived, but actually solidified by facts and research. as a matter of fact, you are in a more ignorant position as your notions are based on experience (as u just admitted) and experienced based notions are simple-minded because they don't include a bigger picture. Research and scholar material includes more case speculation than your own experience.
Kid you're 21.."college level sociology"..soph or junior year? Congrats on going to college..now graduate, live 10 years, make something of yourself and then look back at all the crap you learned. I have two masters degrees and 70% of it was bunk. Both are important, but most important is your own brain. Published books especially in soft sciences like your field of study are obsolete as soon as they are printed.
i l<3 how you attempt to discredit me b/c i'm young. 21 is not a "kid" Just younger than u.
"graduate, live 10 yrs, make something of urself and then look back"<--i'll do just that but i'm learning from scholars who have already done that, so your seniority doesnt make u wiser.
"books are obsolete" no, ur prejudice is.
academia is always right<--maybe not but it's credible especially when dealing with numbers since theyre objective and ur conclusions are SUBJECTIVE.
but anywho, like i said b4, yall are so far gone tht trying to tell you anything is pointless. have your stereotypes but hopefully racism doesnt kill u. lol. if u get a chance look back on ur comment where u attempted to explain ricky ross and read the lines you stated about why crack cocaine is used among the poor...did I not say the same thing only in a different form? u also didnt answer me how they got into these impoverished areas either. but don't bother. im done here
"Don't push hoes and don't shoot somebody, Don't rape out of anger or to control another person. Don't steal" <--That is why I called you racist. Cuz you r not cuz we disagree. So how about YOU get your head out of your ass and stop categorizing an entire group of ppl. Tht track record characterizes white men for at leastt 500 years. Rape, genocide, enslavement, segregation, etc. Don't wanna be grouped w/ those devils do u? Didn't think so, tho u might fit in well with them.
@DivinelyMochaDipped The group of people I am addressing are those who have been convicted of the crimes mentioned, and who glamorize that life-style such that youth try to emulate it and make fast money. White, black, asian, latino, or other.
so first it was "Hey black men... want to stay out of jail?"
now it's "White, black, asian, latino, or other." LMAO Yeah too late to simmer comments now u already exposed yourself for who you really are.
"Published books especially in soft sciences like your field of study are obsolete as soon as they are printed."<---that is the most ignorant, baseless comment you've typed since ur racist one. yall are silly :-P
@DivinelyMochaDipped The person I referred to, and the subject of the video, is black men. To call out black men is not racist, when the subject being discussed is black men. However, it can be applied to anybody who WILLFULLY breaks the law.
Ignorant? Okay honey, you can find out for yourself. Stop trying to find racism where it doesn't exist. As a non-black man, I've done more to help disadvantaged blacks in my community than you could even imagine. Your assumptions show you to be a child.
Oh, Michelle, there's a stigma associated with being a felon? A shame associated with it? This is something new, and at some point in the past felons were welcomed into the household and workplace with open arms?
Hey black men... want to stay out of jail? Don't break the law. Don't sell heroin or pot. Don't push hoes and don't shoot somebody just because they were in your hood. Don't rape out of anger or to control another person. Don't steal and don't drive drunk.
Get a legitimate job, pay your taxes, don't beat your wife and take care of your kids. How easy is that?
@silvermediastudio U gotta be fucking kidding me. The OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of black men are behind bars for DRUGS. Not rape, murder and being a pimp u fucking idiot. What michelle didnt say was that its the GOVERNMENT bringing in the heroin and cocaine by the TONS. Not to mention that its perfectly legal for a cracker to open up marijuana dispenseries or run a whorehouse u goddamn HYPOCRITE
@sittingbull706 Your ignorance knows no bounds. Please show some evidence that the govt is bringing in heroin/coke by the tons for black men to buy & sell. Please, please, provide that evidence for us.
"show some evidence that the govt is bringing in heroin/coke by the tons"<--u can actually do the research yourself.
here's a start: 1. iran-contra affairs 2. look up a man named "freeway ricky ross" Although educating a racist is like talking to a brick wall. ya'll are so far gone that you won't accept the truth or take credible sources seriously. This material is just so you can't say you've never heard of such in the future, though.
@DivinelyMochaDipped I was actually alive during the Iran-Contra affair and trials, and recall them quite clearly.
Ross was buying/selling cocaine since he was in college; a career dealer, he profited $3B+, bought & sold illegal guns and was in other illegal activities. He was convicted for attempting to buy 100 kilos from a Fed, prior he was selling 400+k/wk. He was ratted out by one of his closest confidants Blandon, who was tied to the Contras. Ross was not backed or supported by the CIA.
@sittingbull706 You need to lay off the pipe and go to school, son. Your bad words and insults will get you nowhere with me, let alone in the real world.
have u ever questioned how they got in these impoverished neighborhoods in the first place? Poor people can't even afford cocaine, that's why their drug of choice is crack...b/c it's cheaper. ;-)
@DivinelyMochaDipped Crack cocaine was designed in the early 1980s because it is cheaper to produce than freebase cocaine, is highly addictive, and requires more to achieve the same high over time. Exactly what drug dealers at the time wanted, because users would be hooked after a single use, and return frequently. Again, the CIA was not involved.
@resonantdave I don't think anyone disputes that pot selling should be punished. The point she was trying to make is that black people are disproportionately jailed for the same circumstances as are white people. To further clarify, simple possession, not selling, is the main reason black people are in jail for drug crimes. White people, while also convicted, almost never go to jail for simple possession.
This paper PhD, making excuses and apologizing for the population of blacks who willingly and eagerly participate in illegal activity (drug sales, violence, rape, racketeering, etc) to make fast money. Great job.
To assert that there is some national conspiracy or collective bias against blacks within the police, judicial system, and penal system is absurd. Counter example, Baltimore. Majority of politicians, judges, police are black. Majority of inmates, black. Stop apologizing for criminals.
yeah simple-minded you must be. we have to learn about people like you in my sociology class at my university. -_-
if u read her book (which i currently am and u obviously arent) u will find that she is not making excuses at all. as far as your "violence and rape" claim, i'll have you know that the overwhelming majority of black males behind bars are there for VICTIMLESS/ NON-VIOLENT crimes so that part of your comment made your entire argument that more dumb.
@DivinelyMochaDipped I've not only read her book, but I've heard her speak. We should care less what type of crime they are incarcerated for, rather that they are breaking law. If you don't like the law, change it. Police enforce the law. The problem here is correlation vs causation.
If you go fishing, you go where the fish are. Urban areas = many blk men open breaking a variety of laws. It's EASY to catch them, so law enforcement does. You are finding excuses for ppl who are breaking laws.
You are finding excuses for ppl who are breaking laws.<---No, i just thing that white crackheads should be locked up at the same rate as black ones, LOL. I guess you disagree? -_- You would.
if you go fishing, you go where the fish are...that was weak as hell. if you really read that book you would find her quoted statistic that there is NO difference between drug use among blacks and drug use among whites, so then how do u "justify" the disproportionate incarceration rate
@DivinelyMochaDipped No, people should be treated equally by the law and the courts. Unfortunately, many black suspects cannot afford the quality of legal council white suspects can, and many are repeat offenders.
@DivinelyMochaDipped You completely misunderstand the fishing analogy. If you want to catch fish, you go where the fish are. If you want to catch criminals, you go where the higher concentration of criminals are, in the city, which so happens to be mostly black. Where they are committing other crimes as well. Where they are doing so openly. Where others are more likely to rat them out. It's easy to catch many criminals in the urban areas, so police go there and bag 'em.
You show your own ignorance with things like "simple-minded you must be. we have to learn about people like you in my sociology class"
So you're in school, likely under 25, and are reading about something in one book in a classroom. You have little or no life experience, in particular with law enforcement or real social issues. Your assumptions about me and broader social issues shows that your own thinking is quick and narrow. Don't be so quick to judge those you don't know.
your lame ass typed this same comment on Amazon, Laplace Transform. Hahahahahaaaaaa
Do you go across the internet with different alias' spewing your distaste for black men (and the rest of us in general) Grow up and get a life, Wierdo. You're so obsessed LMAO
@DivinelyMochaDipped My distaste is for CRIMINALS. White, black, asian, latino.. doesn't matter. And those who apologize for them, or make excuses for willingly and intentionally engaging in criminal activity.
I know we aggravate u, but I bet that dude (Glasrud) aggravates u worse bc he made EVERYTHING u typed look completely stupid. -_- No 1 is making excuses here. Equal treatment is not a reality between black and white drug abusers and THAT'S what's being assessed. She has not apologized ONCE or made an excuse for why they do what they do ANYWHERE in this speech. there's a difference between making an excuse and critiquing the unequal treatment of "criminals" based on color.
@DivinelyMochaDipped Repeating the tag lines of endless academic research that, if you actually go and read the papers, all cite each other, and were reviewed by each other, does not make an objective, scientifically sound, nor statistically significant argument. It's called group think at best, and white-wash agenda at worst.
@DivinelyMochaDipped This is the problem when soft-science PhDs start playing with statistics, surveys, and math. They get themselves into serious trouble, trying to directly draw causation from correlation within the data, when the strength of that correlation has not been assessed, lurking variables not identified and controlled for, and regression analysis has not been performed. It turns out that they are able to "prove" their agenda with the data and pad it with social science fluff.
@DivinelyMochaDipped@DivinelyMochaDipped your 100% right. I used to be a state trooper in Ohio in the city of Dayton. The westside had a higher percentage of blacks and the eastside had a higher percentage of whites & spanish speaking people. Westside was all crack, eastside was all meth. All the guys that I worked with on midnights stayed on the eastside they never went to the westside. There were white people on the westside but not as nearly as many that resided on the eastside.
@DivinelyMochaDipped more importantly the University of Dayton is on the eastside and from personal experience I know what goes on while your in college plus I played a sport. If you wanted drugs in college the white boys always had the best shit, it's always been like that. But the system is designed to criminalize young black men and to give young white men a second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth chance.
@DivinelyMochaDipped But the most glaring statistic I experience first hand was drinking and driving. NHTSA won't publish statistics on drunk driving and race. There is a reason for that, the overwhelming majority are white men. But illicit drugs and race will always be linked and we know why. I rarely jailed drunk drivers, only if they acted like complete assholes. Why? County jail is overcrowded so drunk drivers aren't to be locked up. Who's taking up the space? Black drug offenders.
@DivinelyMochaDipped every fatal crash I handled in 2010 and I had a lot in that year (13). Out of those 13 I had 4 that were double fatals. Every crash I handled where alcohol was the contributing factor to the crash they were white. There is a national epidemic of drinking and driving deaths but you wouldn't know it since the major beverage companies spend millions on marketing their products to disillusioned youth who think alcohol attracts attractive people and fun times.
@gritzngravee Yes my friend, here in Brazil 50.000 people die from automotive accidents, 80% with alcohol involved, but nothing is heard from the media since they are sponsored by beer companies, the ignorant keep drinking, driving and dying. Cheers.
@silvermediastudio The unconstitutional marijuana laws were conceived in sin, first in 1937 with Congr. Fred Vinson deliberately lying as his pot tax act was to be voted upon, claiming the AMA was in favor, when he knew clearly the opposite. Then rascal Nixon ignored the Medical Commission recommendations against the marijuana laws and hired sellouts to say the opposite. Our government is corrupt, criminal. It murders daily. Its laws are result of bribery. Jefferson and Washington loved pot.
@DivinelyMochaDipped U see thats the shit im talking about. Coons like u wnt give a fuck until its your man or your son or your father or your cousin that gets shackled up, thrown in a cage and treated like a animal.
Coon? yeah right, save that rhetoric for those uneducated. i just find it intriguing that black males expect so much from us. u expect us to stand up for u, speak out against injustice, have ur back without regards to the attitude ya'll have toward us. black guys openly disrespect and belittle black women. why would we want to stand up for u? who is anyone to require that of us? & y cant u stand up for YOURSELF? i didn't say i didn't care, i just find the situation ironic.
@DivinelyMochaDipped OMG i know u didnt just go there. Well since u wanna turn this to a gender problem. The reason we expect something from u is because u cliam u stong black women. U wanna be equal to men or should i say superior. U wanna work all the jobs men do. U wanna be the provider, u wanna run the show and talk way too much shit. U wanna use men for money. U wanna use sex as a reward when really u get 10 times more pleasure from it than we do.Then u wanna cry if we call u a name GET REAL
BLAAH, Lol! Superior? Why cuz we value education and employment? Nothing wrong w/ that. Equality, yes. Superiority, NO. White women value these SAME aspects and u don't hear their men bitching about a superiority complex so quit playing victim. And we don't claim we're strong just for the sake of it, duh. we claim that b/c that's really what we have to be. it doesn't make us obligated to ya'll though. U think u should "benefit" from that strength b/c u're black? -__- nope.
"use men for money" if so, we'd stop fooling with yall altogether b/c yall have no money. get mad if u want, but it's true. on average we make a significantly higher salary, graduate hi school, obtain bachelors, and advanced degrees at higher rates. we don't need u for money b/c we reach success at a much higher rate than u. even black women who marry white men are still in the same class as their husbands so i conclude that these lies u tell is 4 the wellbeing of ur self-esteem
use sex as a reward when really u get 10 times more pleasure from it than we do<---sure can't tell ya'll don't get pleasure all these babies u keep making. O.o?
Then u wanna cry if we call u a name GET REAL<--*sigh*
have ur opinion. i just hope u aren't one of those black guys who gets pissed at the reality that more of us are marrying outside our ethnic group because it is your type that influences it.
Of course I think it's atrocious to lock up African-Americans (or anyone else) for victimless drug crimes. The decriminalization of drugs would lower the level of inner city violence. That being said, we should have ZERO sympathy for the killers, robbers & rapists whose terrorize their communities. This is especially true considering that the majority of victims of African-American criminals are other African-Americans.
Until you are racially profiled by a cop for doing nothing; then how could you understand what is said in this video. As a former guard; a man who treated all felons the same way, I will state that prisons in this country are all about money. The more felons the more money. Same with law enforcement. The more arrest; the more federal government funding. So naturally they will go after a people who don't have the tools necessary to defend themselves other then a public defender.
@sjbro1000 Your logic is flawed. To say "if you've never been there, you don't know what it's like" is flawed from the outset. One thing that humans do quite well is exhibit empathy and understand the feelings and perspectives of others.
Shouldn't she be in the inncer city in the churches and schools talking about this too? I read her book and to me, the real terrorists are the U.S. government and the criminal justice system. They are worse than Al-Quaeda (A C.I.A. creation by the way) could ever be and ever was.
Google "Law Enforcement Against Prohibition". Victimless Crime? If there is no victim, how can there be a crime? The "criminal justice system", has become a justice system operated by criminals.
@CityOfTheGo411 You don't know one thing about me. It might surprise you that I have a sister who is half black from an abusive white mother who abused me as well. Who is being condescending?? Do NOT jump on someone you do not know and assume they are pretending.
Nobody really cares that can make the difference. Right now the police are hunting us for profits. The police told me they were charging me with a crime so when other police stop me they will know I'm a criminal. I've tried to talk to lawyers they don't care they want retainers. I've tried talking to churches they want offerings. My care is still in Placer county court and the only person that really cares about my black ass is me. If that not true do something to stop being a slave.
@youblacksac I know it's not much - but I'm really sorry and I wish there were something I could do. I am praying for you, I know that may or may not mean anything to you, but it is all I've got. But it's the universe, really. God be with you. I pray miracles upon your head and into your life. In Jesus Name. And I do care. There are many of us who do --- but we feel quite powerless. We really do need to unite.
Beautiful sista! She gave it to em nice nasty! LOL U GO GURL!!!LOL I always wondered how come the light skinned blacks are more pro black than alot of tha darker blacks? Self hate? PEACE!

MarkyRocketmane 1 week ago
@MarkyRocketmane I agree! She has some valid points but fails to give solutions. We need to realize our worth and the power in the family unit. In addition, understand our rights and use them. Whites know their rights as American citizens. They write letters, make phone calls and will use it to their advantage every time they get in trouble.
jromano16 1 week ago in playlist The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander,
@jromano16 Michelle Alexander has done AMAZING work, who else has a book out with this information? She's constantly attending events and speaking at colleges. What can we do when corporations lobby in washington d.c. with BILLIONS of dollars to build private prisons for profit and acquire public prisons to transform them into private prisons. Contact your congress, they're bribed. The only viable solution is to inform as many people as possible, and unite. See Ramarley Graham; private prisons.
NoremacTheGreat 1 week ago
@jromano16 She does give a solution, unfortunately it is a very difficult solution to actually implement. Her solution is the creation of a mass social movement dedicated to reversing the drug war. The difficulty is that the victims of the drug war are a marginalized demographic of our society. People do not see them as victims worthy of a social movement on their behalf. But the first step is to make people aware of what`s happening. It`s not an easy solution, but it`s still a worthy discussion
rastaman24211 6 days ago
@jromano16 I myself am a convicted felon and a college student who hopes to go to law school. I am also white but none the less everything she says is right on point. I may not be of color but I have experienced all of the discrimination of which she talks about. The victims of the drug war transcend racial lines, but people of color are victims in disproportionate numbers. Admittedly there is no easy solution, but does that mean that the topic is not worthy of discussion?
rastaman24211 6 days ago
Crime wasn't related to crime statistically in black ghetto's until the crack and heroin epidemics, before those epidemics we had astounding historical events such as the Harlem Renaissance and black people were doing good even in poverty. Now we have to question why the FBI monitored everything in the black community with COINTELPRO, why the CIA shipped drugs into the country which made its way into all communities but left extremely negative effects on black impoverished areas

@Shaymeonyoo Hows about we stop supporting them with foodstamps and social welfare, imagine a world where the idiots die out without the support of the system.
Shaymeonyoo 1 month ago
@Shaymeonyoo imagine that. dumb people dying out without the promises of politicians who are implicit in the behavior that has made them dumb and poor, can any of you wrap your minds around that?
Shaymeonyoo 1 month ago
@Shaymeonyoo Under the guise of equality u've just proposed an unequal 'solution'. Yes, more black people depend on the social welfare and doing away with and letting the 'idiots die out' does indeed kill of a lot of blacks. But the reasons for them being in their situations in the first place can't be ignored. This country has never settled the debt it owes the black population. To dispute that is to blame the black race for their situation which would in effect deem them inferior
AdeerAxmed 1 month ago
@DAfroSamarai hows about you stop committing crimes in the first place and then POSSIBLY you wont be picked up for suspicion of committing something.
Inner-city black communities are worthless, drug-ridden, full of the losers of society.....
But the problem, according to this lady and democrats, is that they are all arrested simply because they have black skin......
right.

This lady lives in la-la land.

An EXTREMELY enlightened point of view.
Shaymeonyoo 1 month ago
@DAfroSamarai The only solution is for those fucked up communties to realize their plight is due to their own hands.
It's not because of slavery, its not because of white people, its because their kids would rather grab their dicks, sell drugs, spray graffiti and piss on everything that is constructive in life.
PERIOD. END OF DISCUSSION.

DAfroSamarai 1 month ago
@Shaymeonyoo My personal opinion is that people are playing follow the leader. Even in your own comments you seem to display follow the leader mentality. Follow the leader mentality in this context is the reality that we people never seem to understand that all this ''white people,'' ''black people,'' ''yellow people,'' ''brown people,'' ''red people'' stuff is doing more harm than good. I think a solution is for people to see themselves as individuals instead of groups.
DAfroSamarai 1 month ago
@Shaymeonyoo I'm a so called ''black person'' [ not my creation, someone Else's], and it would be idiotic for me to turn my self in if another so called ''black person'' commits a crime and is wanted by the police ; I didn't commit the crime so why should I take punishment for it. My point is that people are individuals. I think a problem humanity makes is continuing this follow the leader mentality and following this separation into groups creation.
DAfroSamarai 1 month ago
@DAfroSamarai It's obvious you are middle classed like me, skin color has nothing to do with anything. I only put "Black" and "White" in quotes because that is how this simple country chooses to define things.
"Black" is a sarcastic remark.
Shaymeonyoo 1 month ago
@Shaymeonyoo And this is why you can go into communities and find the environment being pretty much the same house to house [ I mean until you go behind closed doors where people can take off their mask]. I personally believe that most people learn to identify things and what follows is them trying to identify themselves. I think that people also have what I called earlier the follow the leader mentality.
DAfroSamarai 1 month ago
@DAfroSamarai low class people like you mention (black OR white) will always be low class.
They are the type of people who throw garbage out of their car windows and have absolutely no respect for society.
I, personally, want this scum to die out.
But it will never happen, because they continue to fuck and fuck and fuck and create more children that they will corrupt.
Until we hold individuals responsible for themselves, there will be no change.
Shaymeonyoo 1 month ago
@Shaymeonyoo [continued]... When you mix people trying to identify themselves with the follow the leader mentality you end up with a lot of people identifying themselves with what is popular. When I was in middle school and even in high school I found that many people had the mentality I described earlier. They would stick close to what was ''cool'' and ''normal,'' and any behavior beyond that would get you put into the ''freak'' or ''lame'' category.
DAfroSamarai 1 month ago
@DAfroSamarai so you are answering your own question as to why certain communities (I'm not insinuating black/white) are prone to specific behavior. (black/brown people steal far more cars than white people do)
Shaymeonyoo 1 month ago
@Shaymeonyoo "They"(black/browns) statistically commit the majority of these activities because the family unit of black/brown people has been destroyed due to misguided governmental intervention (food-stamps, section 8 housing, social "welfare" in general)
Put simply, black/brown people POOR people have FAR more kids than they can take care of. Whitetrash do the same, but, comparatively, in less numbers.
Its all a matter of class, and the low class are over-populating.
Shaymeonyoo 1 month ago
@Shaymeonyoo Given the American history and its relations with ethnic minorities it would be pollyannish of you to beleive that the destruction of the black family was a 'misguided governmental intervention'. An intervention it was, but not misguided or by accident as you allude. Its difficult to talk facts with someone who has convenient amnesia when it comes to certain things.
AdeerAxmed 1 month ago
Legit question: can anybody point out to me where she addresses why exactly black men are being picked up and prosecuted for criminal activity in the first place?
Shaymeonyoo 1 month ago
@Shaymeonyoo Because the white man is in position of power, but things will change evetually. If the u.s. invades iran, that's it for the white man being over people.
jojo24love 1 month ago
@jojo24love Ya, so what does that have to do with black men being arrested for criminal activity so often?
Shaymeonyoo 1 month ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@Shaymeonyoo because it's their agenda, it's easy for the white man to set up as well, the white man can keep jobs, resources out of these communities of black and latino people, particularly men. Then there is a possibility they may go to criminal activity. The police white, asian or whatever, operate to support the white supremacy system to serve & protect the white community, & to control, dominate and terrorize the black community.
jojo24love 1 month ago
@jojo24love You are dumb.
Shaymeonyoo 1 month ago
@Shaymeonyoo And so this is why you have people acting the same because we have been trained to be in groups instead of being individuals. I'm not saying people shouldn't come together BTW, I'm saying that we should learn to be individuals and learn about ourselves individually.
And a good example of the group mentality is people saying white music=rock, country and black music= rap,hip hop, rnb. You will find many people feel embarrassed about even trying out ''other'' music.

Black people commit crimes because the communities black people are raised in are all full of gang-banging, irresponsible bullshit?
Or is St. Louis so shitty because White people decided to make it shitty, poor and crime ridden.
Which is it.
"Get the hell away from me, I don't want to hear it."
Shaymeonyoo 1 month ago
@Shaymeonyoo Yes there are several places in the book, if you care to pick it up, where Michelle addresses the causes for the high rate of black incarcerations. Its mainly rooted in the American political rhetoric of pitting the lower class whites against blacks who pose them the danger of taking over their jobs. Reagan era ushered in coded language to send signals to this group of whites and ensure them that blacks would not be a danger to their jobs and 'values'.
AdeerAxmed 1 month ago
@Shaymeonyoo [contd] Once the Reagan administration took office they began to make good on their campaign promise. Reagan used the war on Drugs to carry out this mission. Through very enticing incentives the criminal justice system was increasingly directed to profile and pick up black people for drugs.Hence why more black men 'are being picked up and prosecuted for criminal activity.' Hope that answers your question.

@silvermediastudio
i didnt misinterpret ur fishing analogy, i was implying that it was pointless. and u speak "of other crimes" but black males dnt go to jail for other crimes at high rates....they go for petty drug possession, a crime in which u choose to ignore once i re-iterated that ur ppl r loser crackheads/whores just like the next group. and u want to justify this disproportion by the "ratting out" factor? LOL, Yeah..but SHE'S the one that's dumb? atleast she's not racist lyk u. pathetic
DivinelyMochaDipped 6 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped You did, and you continue to do so. You also ignore the fact that many of those convicted of drug charges plead guilty to those charges, in the face of more substantial charges for other crimes, including violent drug-related crimes.
You really need to grow up, live a little, and get your head out of your ass before calling somebody racist because their facts and experience don't agree with your pre-conceived notions about how the world works.
silvermediastudio 6 months ago
@silvermediastudio
dumbass i'm a college-level sociology major so whatever notions i have are not pre-conceived, but actually solidified by facts and research. as a matter of fact, you are in a more ignorant position as your notions are based on experience (as u just admitted) and experienced based notions are simple-minded because they don't include a bigger picture. Research and scholar material includes more case speculation than your own experience.
DivinelyMochaDipped 5 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped Yeah, because academia is always right! haha
Kid you're 21.."college level sociology"..soph or junior year? Congrats on going to college..now graduate, live 10 years, make something of yourself and then look back at all the crap you learned. I have two masters degrees and 70% of it was bunk. Both are important, but most important is your own brain. Published books especially in soft sciences like your field of study are obsolete as soon as they are printed.
silvermediastudio 5 months ago
@silvermediastudio
i l<3 how you attempt to discredit me b/c i'm young.

DivinelyMochaDipped 5 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped The group of people I am addressing are those who have been convicted of the crimes mentioned, and who glamorize that life-style such that youth try to emulate it and make fast money. White, black, asian, latino, or other.
Calling a spade a spade is not racism.
silvermediastudio 5 months ago
@silvermediastudio
so first it was "Hey black men... want to stay out of jail?"
now it's "White, black, asian, latino, or other." LMAO Yeah too late to simmer comments now u already exposed yourself for who you really are.
"Published books especially in soft sciences like your field of study are obsolete as soon as they are printed."<---that is the most ignorant, baseless comment you've typed since ur racist one. yall are silly :-P
DivinelyMochaDipped 5 months ago

@silvermediastudio
white male felons obtain higher employment rates than black males withOUT a criminal background.
DivinelyMochaDipped 6 months ago
Hey black men... want to stay out of jail? Don't break the law. Don't sell heroin or pot. Don't push hoes and don't shoot somebody just because they were in your hood. Don't rape out of anger or to control another person. Don't steal and don't drive drunk.
Get a legitimate job, pay your taxes, don't beat your wife and take care of your kids. How easy is that?
silvermediastudio 6 months ago
@silvermediastudio U gotta be fucking kidding me. The OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of black men are behind bars for DRUGS. Not rape, murder and being a pimp u fucking idiot. What michelle didnt say was that its the GOVERNMENT bringing in the heroin and cocaine by the TONS. Not to mention that its perfectly legal for a cracker to open up marijuana dispenseries or run a whorehouse u goddamn HYPOCRITE
sittingbull706 6 months ago
@sittingbull706 Your ignorance knows no bounds. Please show some evidence that the govt is bringing in heroin/coke by the tons for black men to buy & sell. Please, please, provide that evidence for us.
silvermediastudio 6 months ago
@silvermediastudio
DivinelyMochaDipped 6 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped I was actually alive during the Iran-Contra affair and trials, and recall them quite clearly.
Ross was buying/selling cocaine since he was in college; a career dealer, he profited $3B+, bought & sold illegal guns and was in other illegal activities. He was convicted for attempting to buy 100 kilos from a Fed, prior he was selling 400+k/wk. He was ratted out by one of his closest confidants Blandon, who was tied to the Contras. Ross was not backed or supported by the CIA.

have u ever questioned how they got in these impoverished neighborhoods in the first place? Poor people can't even afford cocaine, that's why their drug of choice is crack...b/c it's cheaper. ;-)
Any thoughts lol
DivinelyMochaDipped 6 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped Crack cocaine was designed in the early 1980s because it is cheaper to produce than freebase cocaine, is highly addictive, and requires more to achieve the same high over time. Exactly what drug dealers at the time wanted, because users would be hooked after a single use, and return frequently. Again, the CIA was not involved.

Aren't more young black men in "correctional" programs now than were enslaved in 1850 simply because the total US population has exploded since then?
There is a difference between committing actual crimes now and simply being who you are during Jim crow times. Their pot selling kills people.
resonantdave 6 months ago
@resonantdave I don't think anyone disputes that pot selling should be punished. The point she was trying to make is that black people are disproportionately jailed for the same circumstances as are white people. To further clarify, simple possession, not selling, is the main reason black people are in jail for drug crimes. White people, while also convicted, almost never go to jail for simple possession.
rjwoodford69 6 months ago
This paper PhD, making excuses and apologizing for the population of blacks who willingly and eagerly participate in illegal activity (drug sales, violence, rape, racketeering, etc) to make fast money. Great job.
To assert that there is some national conspiracy or collective bias against blacks within the police, judicial system, and penal system is absurd. Counter example, Baltimore. Majority of politicians, judges, police are black. Majority of inmates, black. Stop apologizing for criminals.
silvermediastudio 6 months ago
@silvermediastudio
yeah simple-minded you must be. we have to learn about people like you in my sociology class at my university. -_-
if u read her book (which i currently am and u obviously arent) u will find that she is not making excuses at all. as far as your "violence and rape" claim, i'll have you know that the overwhelming majority of black males behind bars are there for VICTIMLESS/ NON-VIOLENT crimes so that part of your comment made your entire argument that more dumb.
DivinelyMochaDipped 6 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped I've not only read her book, but I've heard her speak. We should care less what type of crime they are incarcerated for, rather that they are breaking law. If you don't like the law, change it. Police enforce the law. The problem here is correlation vs causation.
If you go fishing, you go where the fish are. Urban areas = many blk men open breaking a variety of laws. It's EASY to catch them, so law enforcement does. You are finding excuses for ppl who are breaking laws.
silvermediastudio 6 months ago
@silvermediastudio
DivinelyMochaDipped 6 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped No, people should be treated equally by the law and the courts. Unfortunately, many black suspects cannot afford the quality of legal council white suspects can, and many are repeat offenders.
silvermediastudio 6 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped You completely misunderstand the fishing analogy. If you want to catch fish, you go where the fish are. If you want to catch criminals, you go where the higher concentration of criminals are, in the city, which so happens to be mostly black. Where they are committing other crimes as well. Where they are doing so openly. Where others are more likely to rat them out. It's easy to catch many criminals in the urban areas, so police go there and bag 'em.
silvermediastudio 6 months ago
You show your own ignorance with things like "simple-minded you must be. we have to learn about people like you in my sociology class"
So you're in school, likely under 25, and are reading about something in one book in a classroom. You have little or no life experience, in particular with law enforcement or real social issues. Your assumptions about me and broader social issues shows that your own thinking is quick and narrow. Don't be so quick to judge those you don't know.

@silvermediastudio
your lame ass typed this same comment on Amazon, Laplace Transform. Hahahahahaaaaaa
Do you go across the internet with different alias' spewing your distaste for black men (and the rest of us in general) Grow up and get a life, Wierdo. You're so obsessed LMAO
DivinelyMochaDipped 5 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped My distaste is for CRIMINALS. White, black, asian, latino.. doesn't matter. And those who apologize for them, or make excuses for willingly and intentionally engaging in criminal activity.
silvermediastudio 5 months ago
@silvermediastudio
DivinelyMochaDipped 5 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped Repeating the tag lines of endless academic research that, if you actually go and read the papers, all cite each other, and were reviewed by each other, does not make an objective, scientifically sound, nor statistically significant argument. It's called group think at best, and white-wash agenda at worst.
silvermediastudio 5 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped This is the problem when soft-science PhDs start playing with statistics, surveys, and math. They get themselves into serious trouble, trying to directly draw causation from correlation within the data, when the strength of that correlation has not been assessed, lurking variables not identified and controlled for, and regression analysis has not been performed. It turns out that they are able to "prove" their agenda with the data and pad it with social science fluff.
silvermediastudio 5 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped @DivinelyMochaDipped your 100% right. There were white people on the westside but not as nearly as many that resided on the eastside.
gritzngravee 5 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped more importantly the University of Dayton is on the eastside and from personal experience I know what goes on while your in college plus I played a sport. If you wanted drugs in college the white boys always had the best shit, it's always been like that. But the system is designed to criminalize young black men and to give young white men a second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth chance.
gritzngravee 5 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped But the most glaring statistic I experience first hand was drinking and driving. NHTSA won't publish statistics on drunk driving and race. There is a reason for that, the overwhelming majority are white men. But illicit drugs and race will always be linked and we know why. I rarely jailed drunk drivers, only if they acted like complete assholes. Why? County jail is overcrowded so drunk drivers aren't to be locked up. Who's taking up the space? Black drug offenders.
gritzngravee 5 months ago
@DivinelyMochaDipped every fatal crash I handled in 2010 and I had a lot in that year (13). Out of those 13 I had 4 that were double fatals. Every crash I handled where alcohol was the contributing factor to the crash they were white. There is a national epidemic of drinking and driving deaths but you wouldn't know it since the major beverage companies spend millions on marketing their products to disillusioned youth who think alcohol attracts attractive people and fun times.
gritzngravee 5 months ago

Coon? yeah right, save that rhetoric for those uneducated. i just find it intriguing that black males expect so much from us. u expect us to stand up for u, speak out against injustice, have ur back without regards to the attitude ya'll have toward us. black guys openly disrespect and belittle black women. why would we want to stand up for u? who is anyone to require that of us? & y cant u stand up for YOURSELF? i didn't say i didn't care, i just find the situation ironic.

@DivinelyMochaDipped OMG i know u didnt just go there. Well since u wanna turn this to a gender problem. The reason we expect something from u is because u cliam u stong black women. U wanna be equal to men or should i say superior. U wanna work all the jobs men do. U wanna be the provider, u wanna run the show and talk way too much shit. U wanna use men for money. U wanna use sex as a reward when really u get 10 times more pleasure from it than we do.Then u wanna cry if we call u a name GET REAL
sittingbull706 6 months ago
@sittingbull706
BLAAH, Lol! -__- nope.
DivinelyMochaDipped 6 months ago

sittingbull706 6 months ago

My question is what do you think is the first thing we need to do to create unity?
I have studied that question since 1954.
I feel the first thing we must do is to locate and unite the people that desire unity.

I've tried talking to churches they want offerings. My care is still in Placer county court and the only person that really cares about my black ass is me.
