Guys, there is a clever way to dislike on facebook and a good friend of mine came up with it. Here is his video, only a few seconds long. I promise it's not a joke video and can actually serve as a Dislike on Facebook. Here is where you find the video on YouTube: watch?v=RpdW7igHKGo
So just give it a try and send this to your friends! Also Like this so that a lot of other people can see it.
Ok last night for some reason all of a suddon i had the dislike button so i tryed it out and thought cool but it didnt show dislike on all the comments and NOW i don't even have the dislike button anymore wtf this was just last night.
ew years ago two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to see if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said "Get the kids and get out of the house, we'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue". The "clown statue" was actually a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this on 10 videos tonight the clown will be in your bed at 3:00am with a chainsaw in his hand. Sorry don't want this to happen to me.
I have an update for everyone here who have commented on this video: currently, I now recommend the Firefox add-on called "FaceMod Dislike Button (The Original)". It was recently updated to comply with the current Facebook layout, and it works very well. So that's what I now currently recommend.

Sometimes that happens. In such cases, you should either refresh your browser, or (if that doesn't work) close your browser and reopen it. Or, even better (since I recently updated the video with annotations), a better add-on solution than the Facebook Dislike Button is another Firefox add-on called The [Unofficial] Facebook Dislike "Add-on!", currently at version 1.5.1. It's much better than the pioneer of the Dislike add-ons (the Facebook Dislike Button).

the dislike button is royally screwed up on my facebook. i try to click dislike, but when i do, it shows up under the post, but it doesnt have the thumbs down thing next to it, and when i click refresh, it isnt there. how do i uninstall it? i have windows vista.
Simple: in Firefox, go to Tools, then select Add-ons. This brings up the add-ons window. One of those add-ons should be the Facebook Dislike Button (listed as facebookdislikebutton). Just simply click Uninstall from that, then restart the browser. However, I would like to point out: the thumbs down icon is missing from my Firefox as well, but it doesn't mean that the add-on doesn't work. If you successfully generated a random comment by clicking on the Dislike Button, that means it worked.

That's actually happens to me so much as well. But you need not worry: that does not dictate anything's wrong with the add-on, it's only because, the way I see it, as to how the add-on was made by its creator. My guess is that if and when the creator came out with an update, he would fix that problem. But again: you need not worry: the pop-up message does not automatically mean the add-on won't work and likewise if it won't show up either. So you're all good.
Well, since it's a Firefox add-on, just like any other add-on, the browser itself continues all the time and constantly searches for updates to all add-ons you have installed. Keep in mind, though, that the current version of the add-on is also so far the only version: it has not been updated since mid-August, and it may not for a while, as the creator's add-on's home page is as of now inaccessible because of some bandwidth limit threshold being exceeded.

If they don't have the add-on, they can see the comments, but they can't see the "You dislike this" thingie that pops up when you successfully generate a random comment by clicking the Dislike Button.

Do you mean the comment that is generated on Facebook? If that's what you mean, I would say it's not my place to answer that. It's totally up to you, since of course, if you are the one who clicked the Dislike Button, thus generating the random comment, it's like any other normal comment you may post: you may choose to keep it there or delete it. It's totally up to you.
Sometimes that happens. However, even if it doesn't show (this is from my experiences with the add-on in general), the comment still shows. It's funny you know, but it seems interesting that the add-on often still works even when the "You dislike this" thing you had from applicable statuses doesn't show up. Of course, even though this is different in what I mean, clicking Undislike will take the Dislike out of it. And if the button doesn't show, refresh or close and reopen the Firefox browser.
As I mentioned in the video, the add-on itself is of course not perfect, but when it's going well, it works like a charm. But of course, many times along the way, to resolve most, if not, all issues related to the add-on, is to refresh and/or close and reopen the browser.

No, I've used this plenty. The add-on is not and it doesn't contain any form of virus, spyware, adware, malware, or anything of that nature that is harmful. You can trust installing this add-on without any worry of getting hit with a virus, etc. And for the most part, it does nothing to impact the speed of the Firefox browser either.
In the event that you click it but nothing happens, do this (for the same reason if it doesn't show up at all): refresh your Firefox browser, or (if that doesn't work) close your browser and reopen it. That should solve the problem, no matter whether it's on a Mac or a PC, just on Firefox only.

That's interesting: you're right, but I never saw that happen before. You can still go to the Mozilla add-ons home page, and search for and install the add-on from there as well.

Sometimes, that's the case. Usually, the way to solve that problem is to either refresh your browser, or (if that doesn't work) close your browser and reopen it. Usually that solves the problem.
For some reason or another, that always seems to happen to me as well. However, it does not dictate whether the Dislike Button will or won't show, and will or won't work either. I don't why it happens, but for everytime it shows, that message comes up. Don't worry about it: it doesn't mean anything's wrong, it's just, to me, how the add-on was made that caused this to occur so much. Maybe, if (and I would presume) the creator came out with an update, he would fix that problem. That's my guess.

In such cases, you should either refresh your Firefox browser or (if that doesn't work) close your browser and then reopen it. More often than not, that should solve that problem.
Also keep in mind, as I've noticed in recent months, even when the Dislike Button does show when the home page first comes up, it sometimes won't show on all Feed items that are there. Usually, this means that it actually shows for only so deep into the News (or Live) Feed before it doesn't show in anymore things. Just thought I'd point that out.

I have an update for everyone here who have commented on this video: currently, I now recommend the Firefox add-on called "FaceMod Dislike Button (The Original)". It was recently updated to comply with the current Facebook layout, and it works very well. So that's what I now currently recommend.

How do we fix it if a window saying
"Error: unsafeWindow.presence is undefined"
Pops up ?
Squeeeaaky 2 years ago
That's actually happens to me so much as well. But you need not worry: that does not dictate anything's wrong with the add-on, it's only because, the way I see it, as to how the add-on was made by its creator. My guess is that if and when the creator came out with an update, he would fix that problem. But again: you need not worry: the pop-up message does not automatically mean the add-on won't work and likewise if it won't show up either. So you're all good.
ccvjahnyyx2 2 years ago
So will the add-on automatically update ?
Squeeeaaky 2 years ago
Well, since it's a Firefox add-on, just like any other add-on, the browser itself continues all the time and constantly searches for updates to all add-ons you have installed. Keep in mind, though, that the current version of the add-on is also so far the only version: it has not been updated since mid-August, and it may not for a while, as the creator's add-on's home page is as of now inaccessible because of some bandwidth limit threshold being exceeded.

can other people see it even if they dont have the addon?
Cubzdood 2 years ago
If they don't have the add-on, they can see the comments, but they can't see the "You dislike this" thingie that pops up when you successfully generate a random comment by clicking the Dislike Button.

do u have to keep the comment there?
Cubzdood 2 years ago
Do you mean the comment that is generated on Facebook? If that's what you mean, I would say it's not my place to answer that. It's totally up to you, since of course, if you are the one who clicked the Dislike Button, thus generating the random comment, it's like any other normal comment you may post: you may choose to keep it there or delete it. It's totally up to you.
ccvjahnyyx2 2 years ago
i hit the button and i saw the "you dislike this" then i refreshed the page and it went away
Cubzdood 2 years ago
Sometimes that happens. However, even if it doesn't show (this is from my experiences with the add-on in general), the comment still shows. It's funny you know, but it seems interesting that the add-on often still works even when the "You dislike this" thing you had from applicable statuses doesn't show up. Of course, even though this is different in what I mean, clicking Undislike will take the Dislike out of it. And if the button doesn't show, refresh or close and reopen the Firefox browser.
ccvjahnyyx2 2 years ago
As I mentioned in the video, the add-on itself is of course not perfect, but when it's going well, it works like a charm. But of course, many times along the way, to resolve most, if not, all issues related to the add-on, is to refresh and/or close and reopen the browser.

are you shore dont give any viruses, or make your computer slow
zacj1997 2 years ago
No, I've used this plenty. The add-on is not and it doesn't contain any form of virus, spyware, adware, malware, or anything of that nature that is harmful. You can trust installing this add-on without any worry of getting hit with a virus, etc. And for the most part, it does nothing to impact the speed of the Firefox browser either.

i have a macbook and when it show the whole dislike thign going on but when i press it nothing happens. how do i make it work?
MegaMartianDunker808 2 years ago
In the event that you click it but nothing happens, do this (for the same reason if it doesn't show up at all): refresh your Firefox browser, or (if that doesn't work) close your browser and reopen it. That should solve the problem, no matter whether it's on a Mac or a PC, just on Firefox only.

whenever i try to go to the dislikes . info site, it says "bandwidth limit exceeded"

That's interesting: you're right, but I never saw that happen before. You can still go to the Mozilla add-ons home page, and search for and install the add-on from there as well.

i click dislike. but nothing happends
SamWilber 2 years ago
Sometimes, that's the case. Usually, the way to solve that problem is to either refresh your browser, or (if that doesn't work) close your browser and reopen it. Usually that solves the problem.
ccvjahnyyx2 2 years ago
i also get an error that says "Error: unsafeWindow.presence is undefined"
SamWilber 2 years ago
For some reason or another, that always seems to happen to me as well. However, it does not dictate whether the Dislike Button will or won't show, and will or won't work either. I don't why it happens, but for everytime it shows, that message comes up. Don't worry about it: it doesn't mean anything's wrong, it's just, to me, how the add-on was made that caused this to occur so much. Maybe, if (and I would presume) the creator came out with an update, he would fix that problem. That's my guess.
ccvjahnyyx2 2 years ago
That third sentence should start with "I don't know why it happens," (I was missing the word "know" from that sentence).

i had it at first but it dissapeared?
what happened?
xcrustinx 2 years ago
In such cases, you should either refresh your Firefox browser or (if that doesn't work) close your browser and then reopen it. More often than not, that should solve that problem.
ccvjahnyyx2 2 years ago
oh thanks, i refreshed it
xcrustinx 2 years ago
Also keep in mind, as I've noticed in recent months, even when the Dislike Button does show when the home page first comes up, it sometimes won't show on all Feed items that are there. Usually, this means that it actually shows for only so deep into the News (or Live) Feed before it doesn't show in anymore things. Just thought I'd point that out.
