It was very interesting watching the Nasa jet trying to stabilise itself even without a pilot present, I wonder what such a plane would do by itself with all the data being correct.
5:33 believe it or not, the ruskis knew that the engine on their prototype hover-jet was prone to shutting down suddenly, and addressed this problem by installing a system that automatically ejects the pilot in the event of engine failure...
@SPKB81 The Harrier was originally British, but sort of; both designs vector thrust to move laterally. the key difference is the harrier has special ducts and nozzles to send thrust from the main engine out the bottom or wingtips, whereas the Russia plane used a much more complex and convoluted system

Jet wash doesnt cause Catastrophic Failure it just stalls the engine due to know oxygen able to enter it.
