I don't think you really have got to speak the native language of the airline, as I guess that you'll probably understand that you'll be asked to help the cabin crew in case of an emergency exit.

I've read ANA's policy and I think, generally, if you can communicate in either English or Japanese, you're cool. So for other countries and other airlines, it's safe to say you just need one of the languages of one of the countries involved.

この時間帯、機内は戦場です。暇なのは、機長さんだけです（笑）­。客室乗務員も忙しく、なんだかんだ動いていますよ。このビデオ­は法律で放映が義務づけられていますから、途中で止まったりした­ら、客室乗務員が自分でライフベストを着てデモをしなければなら­なくなります・・・ですから、必ずテストをしていますよ！JAL­さんも同じだと思います。
