  • And your from PA, i'm from the le high valley!

  • @rxheaven13b Nice!

  • Nice evo

  • @rxheaven13b Its actually a Ralli Art not the Evo :( . Baby Evo haha

  • @BeerGeekNation nice

  • I just didnt understand why you do not chill the wort before racking...

  • @jokavali1 Because I was testing out the no chill method of brewing to see how it worked. I always chill but I just wanted to see what kind of beer this method produced

  • A friend and I are going to start homebrewing , and we're using you as inspiration and guidance. I'll also be asking questions on BA , but if you could help us out - please! We'll have tons of questions, we are noobz that love a good beer. Hoping for an IPA our first go around.

  • @FLefty18 Not a problem man let me know what you need. I would start with a pale ale first.

  • @BeerGeekNation We're still just deciding what equipment we need.. either 5 gal or 10 gal - then once we get our IPAs going, we want to know how to infuse them with fruit. Do you use the whole fruit like a pineapple or peach, or just the juice, or just the skins?

  • @FLefty18 Def go with a 10 gallon pot. I wouldnt use fruit in your beer until around the 10th batch or so, so that you know what your doing. Fruit can be a pain to work with. When I have used fruit I will usually buy the organic frozen stuff at about 1lb per gallon. I then add the frozen fruit to the secondary.

  • @BeerGeekNation Thank you - we're going to a couple homebrew classes at Funky Buddha down here, they are the ones that make the crazy Bacon Maple Porter.

  • One question, where is the water from the mash at minute 3:29 ?. I assume you drained it into the pot where you are going to boil. Am I right?

  • @Progfan2010 Yep exactly

  • i am always worried about over sanitation and killing the yeast. Is that even possible?

  • @JaeTizzle The only way to really kill the yeast is pitching them when the wort is over 170F or so.

  • HOT SIDE AERATION! AGH!

Otherwise, awesome vid man. Keep em comin!

  • surely you forgot to add the yeast?

  • @TheOlderandwiser 13:45 in I added it

  • @BeerGeekNation Did you use a starter? I watched your video where you speak about the starters and was hoping that you would be using one.

  • @athorizedUser I did use a yeast starter on this one. I just didnt show it in the video

  • imho, chilling is the biggest pain in the ass in brewing, especially in winter. I'm very curious to see how this no-chill works out for you, Keep us posted!

  • @bvisser1 Yep agreed. Just kegged and force carbed the other night. Video will be up on Friday! Cheers

  • Wow I really need to brew now!!

  • I dont know if you did it or not because it wasnt mentioned but I have done "no-chill" brewing before and I like to aerate the wort with O2 and an airstone the following day only because it doesnt get much aeration sitting in the vessel all night, give it a shot next time if you dont already. Great vids keep them coming!

  • @jtizzle22788 Yeah I completely forgot about doing that. I usually do but because of trying to film and all that it slipped my mind. Thanks! Cheers

  • i like that bag idea.. you must make good money. because i brew under your house l;ike a troll

  • @MasqueradeOfTruth Yeah the hop bag works great and its a cheap easy fix to clogged valves! Cheers

  • @BeerGeekNation yeah i got cloged valvs and thought i would never dry hop again but i seen your bag and thought hey thats an idea. now i can dry hop.. yeah

  • Chris a spray bottle works great to knock down the foam in the boil kettle. Great vid. IPA baby Yes!! I hope it has the flavor and aroma you want.

  • @brewale4me Yeah I usually do that but in the middle of filming realized I didnt show it. Im hoping it turns out ok being this is the first time i did the no chill. CHeers!

  • You drive an EVO? Not bad, dude.

  • @Bebopopotamus Its a Lancer Ralliart edition. Similar engine but smaller turbo and no brembo brakes

  • Nice bid. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Although unlike most people Simcoe sometimes bugs me.

  • Thats a kick ass brew pot, spendy i bet.

  • @dorf68 Worth every penny!

  • Nice beeradvocate shirt bro find me on there thebeerheads also you should make beer geek nation shit I am going to be making me some for my site.

  • @TheRealBeerHeads Yeah I have thought about doing that but I cant find them cheap enough. Still looking though!

  • @BeerGeekNation I meant to say a beer geek nation shirt try zazzle dot com

  • nice series brotha, i was gonna do an all simcoe ipa for the comp i entered. i decided to go with all apollo and simcoe. dude, let me tell you apollo is an amazing hop. seriously think of the ripest tangerine and tropical fruit. i cant wait for my bjcp judging results....

  • @zodiak3000 Let me know the results! Sounds delicious!

  • Wow, you waited 24 hours before adding the yeast. I did that on my last batch but not by choice. I brewed at someone elses house and at the last minute decided to bring it home to firment. I just closed it up and waited til the next day. It came out good!

  • @Imasofat Yep thats the no chill method in a nutshell. Im hoping it came out ok!! Smells great so far.

  • Evo X?

  • @TheRyanJB Lancer Ralliart edition . Baby EvoX haha

  • ahh, finally part 2. thanks for uploading my friend:-) greetings

  • @BrauereiTUBE No problem! Cheers

  • Very informative video. Looking forward to future videos.

  • @sjporr Thanks! Ill have one up next friday on the kegging process and force carbonation

  • Excellent videos, I very much look forward to the Kegging and force carbonating.

Keep up the great work, I am recieving a homebrew kit for my birthday next month, and your videos are very motivational.

  • @schwartzantics Homebrewing is a ton of fun. I just wish I got to do it more! I would recommend starting with an extract kit first and then go to all grain once you feel comfortable with extract brewing. Let me know how your beer tunrs out!

  • Very informative man, can't wait for then next video. Not sure if I can wait 5-7 days lol. Ps love you car!

  • @alherchenreder Thanks man! Yeah next friday will be the kegging and force carbonating segment. I would do it sooner but the beer isnt ready yet :)

  • Haha, that's what you get for not brewing in such a long time (re: vorlauf). How big are those kettles? I forget.

I need to get a heat wrap like that. Or maybe I'll use a one of those light heaters for the keezer.

Good stuff, I envy your setup!

  • @StumpyJoeJr Yeah tell me about it! Im just glad I caught it when I did. They are the 10 gallon Blichmann's In hindsight I wish I would have gotten the 1's but oh well.

  • i feel like you're going to need more water. but im at about 4 mins in so i could be wrong

  • @glitch777 Nope I had just enough. Beersmith seems to undershoot my water so I always add a bit more then I need. Cheers!

  • @BeerGeekNation right on. i'm glad it worked out. my last brew was 15 and 1/2ish lb grain bill. the total mash and sparge water was 10g. it was a 7.75g boil and somehow when it was all said and done i ended up with 5.25g in the fermenter. must have been my grain crush

  • @glitch777 wow, u have a 30% boil off rate (7.75 to 5.25?) You might want to crank down the fire on the burner, you arelosing a lot of beer. Most rates are like 15-20...just a suggestion...

  • @JOMalone3113 yeah for real man. i was like "wha???". i mean it's not really a big deal to me. just confused me lol.

  • Use both fahrenheit and celcius please, not everyone that watches is in america

  • @kinerry Sorry from now on I will. Cheers!

  • I do not understand English but translate the description friend brewing beer is interesting never seen thanks

  • @TeteBlauth Thanks! Cheers

  • Interesting using foil. Can also use an upside down colander , just need to watch closely so the water is hitting the colander. Nice equipment.

  • @bjcpc0337 Yah Ive tried the colander before as well. I thought this way would be something every one in theory should have. Some day Im going to build a proper sparge arm haha...someday

  • I wonder if a waterbed heater is basically the same thing?

  • @bmeyer44 As what?

  • @BeerGeekNation the beer wrap thing you have on there...it looks the same?

  • @bmeyer44 Hmm im not sure it might be. I bought it as a beer warmer but it probably did start life like that. Oh and sorry I called you man! Force of habit!! Cheers

  • so glad you're doing some homebrewing!!!

    This is awesome.

  • @bmeyer44 Thanks man. I think im gonnahave 2 more vids in this series then Ill probably move on to a new batch.
