(Singing): "...in the heart of every family, there's a love that's waiting there for yooooou... through the yeeeeeeears...: LOVED The Hogan Family! :-)
@Ddog2k3 There is still a week's worth of episodes from 1977 featuring William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. Though the master copies have been destroyed, they been preserved thanks to home video recording. A couple can still be found here as well including Shatner's infamous chair throwing outburst, a must see!
This is an exciting match so far. Nispey is really good at giving and recieving and Sandy seems like she never left the set; with either of these celebrities you can't go wrong. The big 7 looked really tense with that last word; it may be simple but to just let your partner know about a word you said moments ago is kind of forgetful if you know what I mean. The tie-breakers seem tense but they are pretty fun to watch. Good match so far.
This is the same episode as the one Jamie Locklin used to have us see online, now gameshowluvr86, did you have GSN later on in the Dark Period back when they were still airing nothing but Sony-owned game show stuff?
Actually, I didn't get GSN until I moved in December 1998, so I had my buddy Julian dub this one for me. He also dubbed me an episode from April of '78 featuring Adrienne Barbeau and Soupy Sales as guests, having some trouble finding the tape, though. When I come across it, I'll definitely post it! :)
I believe this was the earliest aired episode of the $20K Pyramid. According to GSN themselves, 260 episodes of this version, from 1978-1980, are known to exist.
Yeah, I remember walking into a Radio Shack (back when I didn't have GSN), and seeing this on the TV that was on display. They actually let me stay and watch the whole thing! Nice people, those Radio Shack employees... ;)
The first $20,000 Pyramid aired on GSN during the 1997-1998 infamous DARK PERIOD when GSN temporary lost the rights to Goodson-Todman game shows except for The Price is Right (Bob Barker, Bill Cullen, and Tom Kennedy) and 1994 Family Feud.
You sure? I remember in July 1997, 3 months before that, they aired a weeks' worth of shows with Anita Gillette & David Letterman, as a little preview of what's to come in October.

Which Pyramid episode did Sandy Duncan rip out the Winners Circle straps after a win?
rrunner81sg 3 years ago
I think that happened in 1975 or so, while the network version was still The $10,000 Pyramid. :)
