pahaha Scott definitely outshone everyone else up there. It's obvious these were the weaker groups with the exception of Pentatonix and Dartmouth Aires.
I honestly hated the girl singer from Soul'd out. The group as a whole was good, but she seems like someone who really tries when she's on stage. And not in the good subtle way. Like you can tell.... and also, notice when the Aires come on, how much more the music kicks up. That's michael for you haha.
It pisses me off that the worst group of all these 8, the collective, is still in while 5 more talented and better sounding groups have been eliminated
@sgnorush hah listen tot the "black girl" at the end, if that's music, auwtch..... this is an example of how a great song can turn to a dumb song ....
I just noticed, the groups who started the chorus' (Messiah's men & Soul'd out) were eliminated in this episode, and the groups who entered during the 2nd verse (North shore & Deltones) lost the guilty pleasures episode. weird, huh?
Scott's got the runs if you know what i mean. Lol but seriously. dang. I think I've found my favorite group for this year. Last year my favorite voice was jeremy lister. Particularly in fix you and use somebody. I look forward to hearing more of scott and his amazing voice.
It didn't meet the first group's because it was a My Chemical Romance song. Hahaha but either way despite my dislike for the band I thought everyone did a fantastic job. I think Group A might have better people though.
Yeah, my favourite part was Pentatonix, I don't think the rest of the guys did too badly but they definitely made it sound like a POP song.. I think they did better than GLEE anyway :) I like how someone said they sang it too *Mariah Carey-y* or something, lol..
thank you mrduckbear11 for posting these eps so complete with leadup interview and judge comments. I love the Sing-Off but rarely get to watch because of my job schedule. I always count on your postings to stay with it. Please keep up the good work.
There is only one portion of this song that I actually enjoy, and it is pentatonix' portion from :21 to :39 and it is purely because there is this "ba-dee-da-da" call and response going on in the background that is unbelievably cool to listen to. Otherwise, I agree that it wasn't too great of a group performance, but then, there weren't too many great groups here either compared to last week.
Contrary to most of the people here, I love MCR with my whole heart, but I really like what they did for this song and I think that the people hating on this are incorrect, but that's just my opinion
I didn't like this opening number when I saw on first air, and I don't like it any better now. There is something discordant with it. Perhaps too many competing voices and not enough blend and harmony. Plus, I can't pick out any really outstanding frontmen; last year it was easy to pick a few. Out of all 3 seasons, this is my least favorite opening number.
@appletreesubs: No--he first two episodes introduced two brackets of eight groups. Once each bracket gets whittled down to five groups, they'll be merged into a single bunch of ten groups, and I assume the rest of the season will play out like Season 2 from that point.

Bad song by a terrible band.
But somehow, they made it sound decent, I honestly hope the producer/director pick something with at least a SMALL amount of musical merit next time.
