Everything after 0:21 is great, but before 0:21 sucks, do bends like that on the main beat, it a bit off kilter when its on the off beat, but great playing, really.

That was really good! I always like the notes to open pull off deal in solos and I think you did your tapping really well. You sequences were very fast and clean too. Only thing I could point out that could use improvement would be that your bends aren't accurate

i know what you mean, i used to be the same way. just learn a lot of scales, listen to ALL genres of music, and pay close attention to solos in songs to hear technique and placement. keep practicing you'll get better! :)

Thanks! I've been playing for about 6-7 years..this video was from about 2 years ago. If you don't have an ear for improvising just know what scales and modes go with the song before you start to solo and you'll be good from there

Yeah I'll have to work on that O_o. I have only played for about 4 months (had my guitar for a year XD) and I can improvise but I can't play anything besides simple vibrato patterns or tapping stuff. I'll try that thanks!!! :D

wat i do to improv, is Learn the scale (pentatonic is easiest) in the key of the backing track inside and out, then learn like 5 different cool licks that is in that scale (you can find hundreds on youtube) then just put the licks together =] hope it helped

When you play riffs. Try to lean your pinkie finger or your ring and the pinkie finger against the high E string. Even while playing the scales, it will make the strings crunch because you will play on an angle with your pick and it will sound even more metal =D Nice Gibson Special faded by the way. That'd be anchoring her picking hand, which causes resistance and decreases picking speed. Of course, others get by just fine with anchoring, but they'd be faster if they didn't anchor.

It's all your preference, but I'm against resting your pinky and index anywhere on the guitar.
