Actually Bucovina`s history starts in 1774 when it was taken away from Moldavia by the Habsburgic empire. Before that it was a part of a larger Moldavian teritory called upper country. People that celebrate Christmas on 7th January in Serbia are Serbians, true othodox believers. People that celebrates Christmas on 7th in Northern Bukovyna are Ukrainians, true believers. If you read more, you would know that decrease in population is common in all Europe (Romania is not the exception, lost 1 million in a decade). Wrong. Northern Bukovyna was a land of Kiev and Halycn -Volyn principalities before that it was occupied by Moldavia. Slavic people in northern part was displaced by Moldavian nobility. Your "demographic facts" are only valide for the southern part. First the northern part was inhabited by Slavic, and later by Moldavian state.

Archaeological remains prove that the land was inhabited by Slavics, not Romanians. Indeed, Chernivtsi is a Slavic name. Why? Because it was founded by Slavics, by Yaroslav Osmomysl, during Halych principality.

You, romanians were the late invaders, not we ukrainians. This 85,33% Romanians were only in siuth part, and because Moldavian principality displaced Slavic previous population. Kiev and Halych-Volyn existed before than Moldavia. And it isn´t truth that "still the whole bucovina north + south is inhabited by more Romanians than ukranians". In northern Bukovyna Ukrainians are more than 75%.

Ah, yes. Surely you will say that before Slavics the land was inhabited by Dacians, and because that it was always Romanian. First: Dacians were not Romanians. Second: To be Romanian it is necessary two main ethnic components; dacian and latin. Dacians latinized resulted in Romanians, but Dacians not latinized were Slaviced and resulted in Ukrainian people.

Actually Bucovina`s history starts in 1774 when it was taken away from Moldavia by the Habsburgic empire. Before that it was a part of a larger Moldavian teritory called upper country. Romanians never conquered other peoples teritoryes just defened their own people. You have no proof that before 1774 there was more ukrainians in those lands.

Ukraine is a country one, and Russia is other one. Romania invaded in 1919 Hutsulshchyna and forced Ukrainians to adopt Romanian identity. Romanian authorities said that Ukrainians from Hutsulshchyna and Bukovyna were "Romanians that had forgotten their language". In Hotyn massacre Romanian authorities killed 15.000 Ukrainians and set fire in theirs house. I ask you, what would you say about that?

The free elected council of people in Bucovina and Basarabia decided to join Great Romania in 1918 because there was mostly romanians in all the lands. In 1776 the majority of people were romanians.
