my point is that melandri, 2-3 seconds slower than stoner all year, can suddenly find the grip in rain to set the fastest lap. but if you dont think thats got anything to do with ducatis computer, thats cool
the fact is that ducati is made for stoner. the way the bike is supposed to ride, the engines charasteristics and so on, but in rain traction control matters more. i think ducati has advanced more in this area than the other teams
What do you mean made for stoner?? Everybike has got individual settings that you can customise for every rider.. Give stoner some credit...he deserves it.
I think he means the fundamentals of the Ducati from engine config to chassis suit him perfectly. You can adjust all the bikes for every rider but the base bike will suit some better than others. Thats not to say he doesn't deserve any credit, no one's trying to take that away.
if he had simply gone too fast he would have crashed way earlier.
the fact of the matter is that with all that rain coming down there were slowly but surely puddles appearing on the track and it doesn't matter how fast or "slow" you go, when you hit one of those puddles in a corner, you're gone no matter what.
The championship would not be the same, because Pedrosa would be the leader. If he wouldn't have suffered that crash he could have run in Laguna Seca, and he had always been faster than Rossi there, so you don't know who could have won.
i guess we have to conclude this by saying that we will never agree on the matter.
but one more thing: you have no idea how much pain pedrosa was in and calling him a chicken is simply retarded. lorenzo broke his ankles, pedrosa crushed his hand, you cannot compare the injuries or the circuits. and lorenzo later crashed again and again and subsequently lost his confidence. pedrosa meanwhile is fighting for the championship and has to act a little more strategic than that.
Stoner, Rossi and Pedrosa have all had the DNF's and mistakes for the year.
It's so great to see that the bikes are evened out by different circuits suits some bikes and some tyres.
I find it strange though that on the races where Bridgestone riders are at the back, and the Ducati's are coming last, that Stoner (Ducati/Bridgestone) seems to still lead.
